  1. can it be you're bday next week as well. Much better performance. Keep Slattery, Goss, Tierney in the team next week please.
  2. that'll do very nicely - well done KVV
  3. we seem to be getting out shit together playing our better players. makes a big difference. good to see Tierney back as well.
  4. agree - we've lost the spark and energy from the first half
  5. get woolery or Tierney on to freshen things up
  6. great effort from Slattery - he's had a decent game today. Thought Efford looked slow to react to the rebound
  7. well done young Dean - I thought taking a touch would have cost us. Decent entertainment - very poor defending by both clubs - could be a few more goals to come
  8. our defensive set up is StMirrens biggest strength Mugabi shouldn't be playing right back, centre half yes, right back no. He's too clumsy
  9. im not against 3 at the back but if we do we need wingbacks in midfield - otherwise the amount of space invites teams onto our final 1/3. Shame as we had started reasonably well
  10. disgusting defending. Outrageous amount of space on the wing to get a cross in. Followed by poor poor defending
  11. Good to see Slattery and Goss in the team - the tombola has done well this week. I would never put Efford and Shields together up front - to be fair I wouldn't play either but both much of the same player. Would be far better with some one like Tierney playing behind the strikers.
  12. The poor run of results will end. We'll pick up points, reason being the quality of the opposition isn't any great shakes either. A key issue is the poor style of football that we've endured, has been consistent for 12 months. It was accepted when Lady Luck was on our side, not so much now. I don't see our approach changing. GAs job will be secure for anything above 9th position. If we end up top 6 many will be happy to keep him for more of the same. Not a reality I like.
  13. Jim Goodwin did a very good job with them and earned himself a step up. He always comes across well and seems very capable. As such the squad he assembled at St Mirren are capable of beating us. They are equal on points on merit. Equally it's a very winnable game for us. No clue what the score will be. No clue who will be playing. Suspect it will be a game low on quality - can only hope we get stuck in and get a glamour of hope for the rest of the season.
  14. I'd be happy to see us get back to what has worked well and press, don't give them an inch and push them into their final 1/3. Being able to string 2-3 passes together wouldn't go amis either.
  15. completely with you - he's been dangerous ever time on the park. Sadly he can't play anywhere in the front 3 which I suspect is the reason he doesn't get a game . He'd be straight in my starting 11 - offers a spark that we otherwise don't have.
  16. I’m disappointed in terms of our signing and resigning of players . in the last 12 months weve lost Campbell , Watt , Lamie and now Ohara - appreciate Campbell moved on to better things but the others we could have retained if things were different . we resigned S’Od - one of the few positives . but resigning Mcginely , Carrol amongst others makes no sense to me . fairly sure we’ll lose salttery as he needs to be playing or he’ll find another club .
  17. appreciate not everyone is a raving fan - personal view he's very decent player and would generally be in my starting 11.
  18. 100%. All 3 should have game time. Slattery proved to be an asset. Tierney has caused problems when he's come un. As for Shaw it's a complete waste to bring in a player, pay a wage if he's not going to get time. In reality I don't believe any of them will play.
  19. In theory Efford is the replacement - he can play anywhere in the front 3. Sadly he's rank rotten and offers very little. Not hugely different to some of the other piss poor signings. Even more frustrating is Watt seemed happy and settled back in Lanarkshire. He left around the same time GA signed an extension.
  20. Agree .At our best we press well but overall it’s dross. it’s as bad as it was under Robinson’s last 12 months . why we don’t play some of our better players befuddles me - have they all pissed GA off ?
  21. This for me is a big part of the issue. He's happy with the play, as long as we work hard and somehow magically score more goals he's happy. At least Robinson and others admitted when things were poor, albeit he ran out of ideas too.
  22. My thoughts are he's not the man for long term - there's a need to entertain and he's happy just to have people who work hard, huff and puff. We need hard workers but we also need some players who have skill /guile. Slattery, Goss. Shaw, Tierney all offer something more than we have but no where near starting. Watt seemed very happy at Well but can see the style of the manager not working for him. Slattery must have said/done something behind the scenes to be dropped like a stone. There's a fine line between arrogance and ignorance and for me GA falls on the wrong side. GA has been allowed to spend, we have a huge squad and must have a much bigger budget than previous mgrs. In short I've heard and seen enough to be happy to thank him for 1 1/2 years and let him move on to something new come the end of the season. I'd much prefer we bring in someone with a long term vision and plan who wants to give fans something to get excited about.
  23. Yorky - appreciate results were good but I've not enjoyed many games. Early pre season was worrying with lower league clubs showing us up. We someone managed to get points on the board , taking the little chance we made. -but at no time have we looked a good team. I don't believe it's all about Watt - albeit he was class and the fact he wanted to leave tells its own story about the current regime.
  24. We have players like Slattery, Goss, Shaw, Tierney - who can all play , pass and would get a game for most teams - but clearly not in the plans for an anti entertainment regime. Very similar to Mcghee. Gannon in terms of arrogance. When winning it was hard to accept - might as well wait til the end of season before making a decision. We don't need to be world beaters, just get the basics right please.
  25. I’m glad to see a central back three with carol and sod pushing forward . 3-4-3 could be decent . we’ve had little width and with a lack of any natural winger makes sense to push sod and Carrol up each flank .
