  1. not 100% sure. There's been mention of a few players having to isolate or a few niggles. Similar question with Grimmie - He's been missing since March with glandular fever.
  2. Personal view - his best games have been in cups against lower league opposition. He's not had a huge impact in the league games, only played a handful of times but I've not seen much from him to convince me. I'd like to see him make more of a difference this season.
  3. Lawless has proven himself to be a very capable player in the Championship . Still got much to prove at SPL level but should be given a chance to prove whether he's up to the mark. Personal view is taking a punt on players from the Scottish Championship is a good way to mix things up on the recruitment front.
  4. very good second half - decent start for Woolery .
  5. I really dislike that we continue to play a 3 man midfield - we must be one of the easiest teams to go up against. a 3-5-2 or 4--4-1-1 seems such an obvious choice
  6. suspect St Mirren will be higher up than the top 4. An excellent manager and they seem to have the a good eye for players. That said we should be able to compete with them
  7. great news - having people who are Well through and through really helps with the culture at our club. Glad to have Keith around.
  8. you make really solid points .Players like Crawford and Lawless should be nowhere close to the starting 11. Irrespective of being rusty,we should be able to have decent shape, pass the ball around, move into space etc. I don't understand is why some regulars such as Mcginley, Mugabi ,Ohara weren't there. Id be expecting us to field our best 14 players during the game to give everyone match time.
  9. we were dreadful last season - absolutely dreadful - the basic expectation of having the ability to pas to a man in the same coloured shirt isn't the same as expecting attractive free flowing football.
  10. start of a new season - would be nice to be trying something new. BUT another 3 man midfield Would expect to see testing different formations, new players, new ideas etc
  11. This takes the jam out my donut. We've been a SPL team for 30+ years and should be able to complete with Utd, St M, StJ for salaries. Particularly when we've made £XX m on player sales in recent years. The chatter at the end of last season was expect a smaller squad, less players higher quality. This is the type of signing that would fit that category.
  12. it's the best Livingstone strip we've ever had.
  13. replacing black with a dark claret would have been a winner. If we win every game we play in it - it will grow on us.
  14. best signing we've made for quite some time - very pleased with this.
  15. There were several issues with players in the Jan window. Suspect that was down to lack of game time than the level of the leagues they came from. Getting a full pre-season should be fine. I still believe the Scottish Championship will have some decent players to scoop up.
  16. his goal ratio is far better than most stickers we've signed. On the face of it a very decent signing .
  17. He's only 17 but I agree - would love to see more game time. Was thinking we could push S'OD further up and slot young Max to give him some cover. Also creates a question over the likes of Grimshaw - is he still around ?
  18. Why would we look at a right back ? WIth both S'OD and young Max Jonhstone - who 's a damn fine prospect I don't see the need.
  19. wonder if 1st July will be the day for announcements - many contracts expire on the 1st.
  20. completely agree - he was a regular with Aberdeen and don't imagine he'd be any worse that say Gallagher who has gone in the reverse direction.
  21. a year ago I was excited about the season ahead- Turnbull coming back from injury along side Campbell etc, had a false feeling of optimism. Fast forward 12 months and we've signed/resigned 10+ players since Jan who at best feel like squad players + reports of trialists who will make our squad players look good. Not feeling the same excitement - we need to step up the quality
  22. loads of talent - had a great first season when he had plenty of ball winners around him. Good luck to him.
  23. Be interesting to see if we retain S'OD. Personal view if he stays is push him further up field. He's more effective moving forward than in defence. For Scotland last night was as lesson on how to play football, retain the ball and do the basics well. We were punished for lapses in concentration and not having the required quality in all areas of the park. Thankfully we have some very decent young guns coming through and the future looks brighter.
