Defence is indeed rotten . I don’t believe Mugabi is the answer in any position . An honest man mountain but he lacks finesse , a bull in a China shop. Carrol , mcginely , grimmie aren’t good enough . S’OD - is good enough but we’d need to play a back 3 + 2 wing backs to make it work . ojala has lost his way . Solholm - is ok . I’d be ok to keep him . we brought bite bold in Jan - what a waste of money . I’d rather bring back young Johnstone and Oconner from loan and see if they’re ready . At least both are young and shown promise

We struggled to raise our game against Livi to get in the top 6. We looked poor and it was the game that mattered, we only turned up in the final 20 mins. Didn't expect anything today in terms of performance, don't expect anything for rest of season. We are a hard team to watch, albeit made it into the top 6 due to Aberdeen and Hibs also being bags of shite this season. Hard to see how we're moving forward as a club at the moment.

Feel for Maloney - he seems a purist in terms of how to play football and is a likeable chap - a bit raw in terms of experience but that was a known. Jack Ross I thought was an excellent mgr and someone most clubs in the SPL would be delighted with. Overall thought is that those running Hibs need to take a long hard look ate themselves.

I really like having 'Well men around. Suppose bit of an idealist but having guys like Lasley, Hammell around is right up my street. Appreciate it's a bit of job for the boys but over the years having people like Craggs, Lasley Hammell, Faddy etc who understood and gave a shit about the club is IMO a good thing. Always felt Philiben and Kirvokipic got a bit of a raw deal . Bottom line I'd be happy to keep familiar faces around .

don't think you're that hazy - pretty much spot on. Why we persevere with players who weren't quite good enough is frustrating. Roberts for example - why we resigned him twice is lost on me. Magloire would be the same. No harm in testing people but when proven not be good enough for starting position we should move on.
-
I really like Tierney - he needs some game time. Suspect he'll be at his best sitting just behind the front 2 which means we have little width but would like to see him get a run out for last few games.
-
I feel for Lamie - I don't think he's been treated well. First season initially played out of positon as a left back. This season came in, played well and was dropped like a stone for months (a bit like Slattery) He's proven to be our best left sided centre half - has his flaws like all Motherwell players. Don't blame him for wanting to leave and work with a mgr who rates and wanted him. This is an area I feel GA needs to improve - dropping players for months at a time with no real reason has to stop. Be interesting to see if Dundee get relegated if he decides to stay with us.

This is exactly how I feel . His results over the 18 month period we spot on - well done . Just willing him to talk about trying to play more footy going forward - that’s all it would take to get fans on board
-
I echo this , being top 6 deserves a level of respect . Well done GA for achieving the league position . but its the eye bleeding footy that’s too much to take . If he as much hinted at needing to improve the style over a longer period of time i could prob cope but it’s almost boastful that it’s only about results .

Mcall was superb for us - particularly when we was managing rangers
-
Mugabi is a centre half , he's not cut out for right back. If he plays it should be in centre half. If S'OD is the best player in left back (and he is) then it's a disgrace that McGinley got a new contract - both Carrol and McGinley should have been moved on. I'd be happy to bring in young Johnstone at right back, put S'OD on the left and then pick from Mugabi, O'Connor, Sol, Ojala for centre halves.

KVV was at his best today . several had a really great game but KVV has a touch of class and looked back to his sharpest
-
Great result today and much better overall performance. I'm not calling for the managers head so please take this in the context it's meant. Today shows some of the key flaws in his managerial approach. Dropping players like Slattery for months at a time with no obvious reason hurts us. Todays midfield was a key reason we won. Also brining Tierney back into the team , a guy who looks dangerous every game he's played for us - why he's not had more game time is bizarre. Overall we have the bones of a team that could be sailing high in the top 6. Had he played our better players consistently rather than the 'tombola' I don't think we'd be worrying about top 6. Delighted with todays performance (will try and forget our defensive flaws in the first half) but please GA get your shit together, play our best players and keep some consistency in the back 4.
-
can it be you're bday next week as well. Much better performance. Keep Slattery, Goss, Tierney in the team next week please.
-
that'll do very nicely - well done KVV
-
we seem to be getting out shit together playing our better players. makes a big difference. good to see Tierney back as well.
-
agree - we've lost the spark and energy from the first half
-
get woolery or Tierney on to freshen things up
-
great effort from Slattery - he's had a decent game today. Thought Efford looked slow to react to the rebound
-
well done young Dean - I thought taking a touch would have cost us. Decent entertainment - very poor defending by both clubs - could be a few more goals to come
-
our defensive set up is StMirrens biggest strength Mugabi shouldn't be playing right back, centre half yes, right back no. He's too clumsy
-
im not against 3 at the back but if we do we need wingbacks in midfield - otherwise the amount of space invites teams onto our final 1/3. Shame as we had started reasonably well
-
disgusting defending. Outrageous amount of space on the wing to get a cross in. Followed by poor poor defending
-
Good to see Slattery and Goss in the team - the tombola has done well this week. I would never put Efford and Shields together up front - to be fair I wouldn't play either but both much of the same player. Would be far better with some one like Tierney playing behind the strikers.

The poor run of results will end. We'll pick up points, reason being the quality of the opposition isn't any great shakes either. A key issue is the poor style of football that we've endured, has been consistent for 12 months. It was accepted when Lady Luck was on our side, not so much now. I don't see our approach changing. GAs job will be secure for anything above 9th position. If we end up top 6 many will be happy to keep him for more of the same. Not a reality I like.
