  1. There were several individual needless errors that could have caused us goals - we lack quality and could have conceded a few more had they been more ruthless. We worked hard but sadly that's not enough at this level.
  2. that would be a pretty decent signing - here's hoping
  3. Sad (yet accurate ) reflection of what we're competing against. Burton Albion a small town club with a tiny stadium and lower crowds that us can and will out punch us in salary.
  4. unfortunate choice of words here.
  5. more likely to move to Dundee where he had a good spell previously. Someone who did well in lower leagues but struggled with SPL teams - hopefully not someone we want to bring in.
  6. for a club who want a smaller squad some of our resignings have been uninspiring. (Fox, Carrol, Muguabi, Crawford - not sold any of these are auto picks for starting 11) Couple this with GA signing Lawless until end of 21/22 season. If these players weren't good enough to get a starting place last season we should let them go and look to replace with players who are likely to start.
  7. he was one of the laziest players I can ever remember in a Well Strip.
  8. he's simply not someone I warm to. very much the pantomime villain.
  9. Cole's goal scoring was much improved under GA. I don't think his all round game is that impressive- hence him playing for us. What I don't believe works is when players and their families don't want to be living in Scotland. Long was a good example of his family still being down South and he living up here. It didn't work.
  10. Randolph was superb for us. Ruddy, Carson, Kelly, Gillespie all good. Goram was a fat mess but still a damn good keeper and far better than Stevie Woods whom he replaced.
  11. good luck to him, a nice fella and when fit better than Lamie/McGInlay. That said with Lamie/McFinley/Carrol we really don't need another left sided defender.
  12. in the absence of creative midfielder be good to use wingbacks. Push S'OD further up and do the same on the left we might be ok, I'd also like to see Watt play behind the front pairing - he's an intelligent player , suspect he'd excel in this position,
  13. its important that we move forward. In the last 5-6 years our revenue has been incredible through selling players but none if it has been reinvested in the squad to help move us from the 10th biggest earners to the 9th, 8th etc. I get why we had to do this. Moving forward Id like to see progression , reinvest in the team and move us forward.
  14. Mout = A good guy Lafferty = not a good guy
  15. Lafferty is a proven goal scorer but in all honesty I'd find it very hard to warm to him, much like Micky Weir when he was at Hibs, loved to hate him and then we signed him.
  16. completely agree with you. Over the last 4 years he's been a great guy around the club but played 3 games in 2 seasons. Its one risk that I don't think we need to take. Also with Lammie, McGinely, Carrol who are all left footed its not a position we need more players (none of them are world beaters)
  17. Dunne has a cracking attitude and suspect that's what GA has liked. All depends if he can come back and play regularly .
  18. nice to see us get a goodbye wave from Nolan
  19. reports often suggest around 8th/9th. To be honest I would expect a lot of similar (fish) budgets for many of the clubs. Top tier - Old form 2nd Tier - Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs Then it's would be reasonably marginal between the rest . The odd few owner bank rolling new signings or money from transfers would be the key difference , (other than core crowds)
  20. thought young McCart was excellent - we could have scooped him up a few years ago and would have been another good young player for us.
  21. I was never the biggest Adams fan when he was at fir park - but I was a big fan of his dad - he knew how to spot a player.
  22. Be good to land some decent Scottish players. Watt, S'OD for example are reasonably local lads . A few more who live around the area and would stick with us for more than 12 months would be nice - as long as they're decent.
  23. Many of my all time favourite Well players were in that squad and would walk straight into our team now. defence - McCart (or his son) Paterson, Nihjolt , Boyd Midfield - Young Uncle Phil, O'Neil , Bobby Russell, Kirky, Dolan, Griffin. Up front - Dougie, Cooper Most importantly "when the well went up to lift the Scottish cup" we were there.
  24. Would rather play a back 3 that flips to a 5 when required. Put Gallagher, Magloire & Lamie at the back with S"OD & MgGinley as wingbacks. The 3-5-2 that flips to a 5-3-2 works well for who we have
