  1. next 4 games are huge for us - time to move up the league.
  2. If we had a team that kept winning I wouldn't give a flying F who we picked . Appreciate it's early days for the newer signings but if we only brought in players who were better than we have then they should be playing or at least subs.
  3. with 10 first team defenders we should be able to swap out Lamie. Be interesting to see if Magloire or Nolan can step in. If not got to question why they're here.
  4. all strikers will miss - Cole has missed plenty but thankfully got on the end of a few. Watt has missed plenty but his overall game is solid. The exam question for me " is Smith better than what we have ?" Early evidence suggests no, but too early to say for sure. Other than Kelly none of our Jan signings look to be better than our best 11 .
  5. very true . Would be very happy with 9 but over the moon with 12.
  6. in an ideal world we'd take 9 points from the next 4 games , starting with 3 on Wed.
  7. we need to make teams work harder to get their goals. First goal - Lamie was the player we opted to mark the zone and go fo the ball. Big mistake - he's not aggressive enough. Big Bevis is the man for that job. Second Goal - Crawford gave his man far too much space. No harm to either Lamie or Crawford but they're not good enough for SPL. Plenty of reasons for optimism , hopefully Gallagher, O'Hara and a few of the new boys can get up to speed.
  8. agree -the three man defence has been a problem for us all season. Whether it's been Polworth being lazy, our our lack of passing ability or being simply out numbered. Short term Maguire, Campbell, O'Hara are likely our strongest midfield. Perhaps Foley adds something extra
  9. Be interesting to see how he plays when we have someone on the wing. I don't really see hime working well as a three as part of Watt/Cole/Long/Him but if we have balls coming in from the wing it could be different story.
  10. Ohara is a much better player than Crawford - surprised he's not on in his place
  11. respect keeping the same starting 11 that won the game. Hopefully keeps players hungry to do well but also break into the team. Wonder if some of the new signings have injuries
  12. be interesting to see if any of the new players come in. Would like to avoid a pumping , hoping for a continued improved team performance.
  13. Be tempted to move to a 4-1-3-2 formation Put Maguire in front of defence and bring back O'Hara. If we go 4-3-3 then I'd replace Crawford with O'Hara.
  14. there may be a shorter list of those who will remain. Suspect we'll keep Kelly, Bevis & Cole. Others will either move on to better things or should be moved out.
  15. 100% - different types of players in many ways. To be honest with 3 up front I'm not sure we can afford a polworth type player as we'd simply have no bite in midfield. Short term Maguire/Campbell/O'Hara feels like the way forward.
  16. he's the only midfield player we have who can both win the ball and then find a well player with a pass.
  17. We had a 20 min purple patch in the first half where we really had them on the ropes and got our 2 goals. The front three were superb, the full team, brimming with confidence, moving at pace and we won the game due to this patch of play. If those 20 mins become the norm and we get more comfortable at holding the ball the rest of the reason could look so much better. Well done lads.
  18. Moving forward the 4-3-3 works really well for us. The front 3 all excellent. That does create problem for us defensively as the 3 men in midfield are quite often over run . Suspect putting Watt into midfield is the key to enabling that to happen
  19. great result - much preferred the first half - too many squeaky bum times there
  20. very good team performance. Good to see several players back to form
  21. WTF is the plan with out bi kicks - why have 2 defeenders in our 6 yard box - I don't get it
  22. The much improved Mugabi could also be added to that list. Get's caught out of position fairly regularly, Good to have options.
  23. as are most clubs. Are we going to do enough to safely avoid the drop. I really hope so.
  24. Watt would do a great job/much better job than Polworth in this old number 10 role.
