  1. Lamie, Grimmy, Crawford, Ohara (as a centre half) Polworth, Cole - none are good enough first team players.
  2. agreed. We offer very little . We create very little. Thankfully other teams are also dreadful - that's what's saving us at the moment
  3. to be fair I think we're missing half a team - several of these players are just not good enough first team players
  4. we were the better side but we don't have any control or structure to the team. Forwards have to come far too deep , we create very little as we can't string any passes together and have very little movement
  5. there's so much space on the left - we really need a decent wide player. Our passing in the final 3rd leaves a lot to be desired.
  6. I think the Leeds 4 - 1 - 4 -1 formation would work for us Carson ODonnell Gallagher Ohara Carrol/Lamie Maguire Gimshaw Polworth Campbell Hastie Watt Could easily adapt to other formations and bring in Long/Cole/Lang
  7. He didn't get much game time for Columbus. Suspect Oxford would be sniffing around. Would be quite happy for him to come back to FP but can't see it.
  8. I'd like to see us give both Mcguire and Hastie a run of 6 games to see how they do - they need a chance to show if they have what it takes. I don't even know Mcguires best position - should he partner Gallagher or is he better as a hold midfield player.
  9. agree - we started relying on him to both break up attacks and then become some sort of creative force to drive us forward. Too much on his shoulders.
  10. completely agree about the width - If the 4th man in midfield was a winger - eg Hastie on the left I'd be much happier
  11. do you mean the personnel or the formation ? personally I like 442 and think it would suit us but we need more width
  12. both were excellent for Scotland and the U21's which calls out how important formation and other players around them are. We don't have a settled defence , continue to play 5 at the back (3 of which not many fans rate) We continue to get out battled in a 3 man midfield. I believe their lack of form is down to a formation that's not working and also highlights you need more than 2 -3 decent players in your team.
  13. don't think he's been given any real opportunity - either play him for 6 games or send him back.
  14. it's hard to see why they'd want to stay around to be honest. We're not a club moving forward.
  15. xmas shopping list centre half left back left mid/winger right mid/winger and if we can pick up a partridge in a pear tree that would be smashing .
  16. I personally like that we parked the bus rather than try and go toe to toe. Being 1 up after 60 mins is more refreshing that being 3-0 by half time. We couldn't maintain it for 90 mins, no big deal. Rangers are far superior. I'd like SR to continue to evolve formations - he's clearly not a fan of 4-4-2 but with our current squad I suspect this would be a formation that works against most clubs and revert to 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 against the top 3-4 clubs.
  17. this highlights how poor our signings are that O'Hara is the best partner for Gallagher . The only issue this creates is who plays in midfield as there's very little in the way of options.
  18. our 3 man midfield is sure to dominate and boss the game.
  19. can build on that - how many players do we sign with a vague reference to their position eg 'can play anywhere in defence ' 'great midfield player and can play in defence' Trev is a great goal keeper and potential target man up front. This stuff takes the jam out my donut
  20. O'Hara ,Tanner would be added to the list but your point remains valid.
  21. A decent, good honest pro and thoroughly nice fella . He just ran out of ideas and from memory he had his budget sliced. I don't think he'd move us forward - he's been back to Bradford a few times over and never really progressed them.
