Again this is basically pre season now so we shouldn't get too concerned with it (another reason I don't want to pay for premier sports). Still though the midfield is in need of some more quality and options. Surprised were still playing with 3 up top. Be interested to hear if we change shape as the game goes on or just change like for like.
-
Cheers. Seeing the goal as well helped. If Maguire can start getting box to box that could be a good development for him as a player.
-
For those not willing to shell out for premier sports on principle can some one give a decent over view of how we're playing please?
-
We were struggling after he left but I still think its a stretch to say there's no chance we'd have held on to third. Aberdeen and Livi were both dropping points all over the place the same way we were. I think we'd have ended up fourth had the season run its course but I don't think it's totally out there to suggest we could've turned turned round a shocking run. Ultimately though not important as James Scott is what we're on about here and I think he'd be a good addition if was brought back in for the season.
-
If Hull are looking to loan Scott I'd like to think we were in the conversation. I think we need players in the middle and at the back more than another forward option but if we are getting another 5 players then I'd welcome Scott being among them.
-
But we should have enough regardless to see us through the league Cup group games, important thing is getting the right players in for the league starting.

I do love how England fans can barge through barriers, stick flares up their arse and launch bottles all over Leicester Square but I can't watch motherwell play accies in front of 3,000 folk without having to wade through mountains of horse shit from the polis calvary surrounding Fir Park.
-
I'd have assumed if Carson was fit to play he'd have been our number one. Good luck to him, he was a great keeper for us. Would be far more annoyed if Kelly wasn't signed up. As is its all good.
-
Saw Flow on twitter saying there will be an announcement about tickets and other viewing arrangements for the league Cup group stage games made this evening. Make sense since it's just over a week away
-
Aye, a fan account has taken a guess at what they think a championship club would want for their second choice goalie and ran with that.
-
Not a chance that's what we paid.
-
I worded that to be flippant. I've no issue with players picking up bookings if its the right call for the team, I was just making the point that he wasn't victimised up here. He's a player that makes a lot of challenges that deserve bookings.
-
He never kicked a ball due to injury for the first half of the year so you can see why folk took issue. 7 yellows in 20 games for us, 23 in 70 for Oxford. No conspiracy just bad at tackles
-
Van Veen signing has over shadowed the picture of Donnelly training again. Hopefully he can pick up where he left off as there's a player there. Another signing to be announced soon according to Flow I'm taking that to mean tomorrow. See what comes of it.

Seems my comment was to close to reality to be taken as the piss take it was. People clamour for players with proven SPL experience but when we bring in players with that experience and in our budget they get derided. Lawless had a poor 6 months, but he's clearly not a bad player at this level. Lamie started weakly but came on to a game by the end of the season. Crawford was solid enough as is O'Hara. All solid SPL players. The only big name SPL signing we've made in a long time is O'Donnell and maybe Watt. They've both been very good for us but haven't been without their detractors
-
We should sign players with proven SPL experience. Not him though.
-
I take it there's a few signed but we're giving each signing their own media/press release each day. Which I quite enjoy as an approach, gives us stuff to get excited about.

With the 9th August plan to remove all legal requirements for social distancing then you have to assume you're looking at capacity crowds from then. So after 2 league games every one can get back in. Which seems a bit of a leap if you're holding it to 2000 for the first 2 fixtures.
-
It surprised me that O'Donnell signed a deal with us before the euros, would always expect a player to take their chance on a good showing getting them a better offer and wouldn't blame them for it. It would make perfect sense for there be a very reasonable buy out that gives us the best of both worlds. Guarantee if he does go it will undisclosed and folk with go mental over it.

Stephen O'Donnel was excellent tonight. In saying that it's the sort of game that suits him. Maybe Patterson or Forrest would have done a better job on Monday against the Czechs (who knew we would try and take the game to them and dominate the ball) but tonight O'Donnel was the right pick and would always be the right pick based on how the game would go. Stephen O'Donnel is a good footballer and excellent at a certain role. He doesn't have to do that job for motherwell every week though.

I'll keep an eye on Lutons results and see how he's getting on. They had a good season last year by the looks of things so hopefully Campbell can break into the team early and kick on.
-
40 odd games in league 1 at 22 isn't bad outing 38 of them last year. Someone that could potentially kick on and has shown they can do a 40 games season (OK in a team that was relegated but still).
-
He'd also still be at Celtic. He's in the massive gamble category, like a Ross McCormack level gamble. Great if it works out, disaster if not. Bigger gamble than Moult would have been IMO, knees are easier to fix than heads.
-
You think the reason the motherwell team was less than fluent might be because we were playing with a striker that couldn't hold the ball up, beat a man or link play effectively?
-
Midfield needs numbers, played a good number of games last season in thenfirst half of the season but rumours that Blackpool are keen to offload him. No idea what he's like but we need a bit more in the middle so I could see it.
