Aye exactly. Lamie went to move for more money and to work with a guy he liked. The guy he liked is gone and maybe the money wasn't what he expected. If he's better than what we can get for the same money elsewhere then I've no problem with him now getting a deal. Though this should really be in the ins and outs thread.

Another point to consider, if we qualify for Europe thats a bye to the last 16 of the league Cup, and a seeded place. If we finish 4th that would also mean we would be seeded for the quarter finals I think (if we won the last 16 tie)?

Unless Hibs win the cup, then they would get Europa playoff and Hearts the conference league prelim round 3.

If russian clubs are still banned next year does that mean any potential extra places? No idea if that's likely or how the split would go if it did? Anyway, we've been humped with less home games than away games before so maybe we're due a good break. Aberdeen and Hibs not making top 6 will have thrown the leagues fixture plans out the window. Have to assume they do Celtic Vs Rangers first week so Celtic can't win the league against Rangers (bizarre twist of the Scottish game that they actively avoid the tow biggest teams playing to decide the league when every other league would be desperately trying to set it up). So even odds we would get Rangers or Celtic last game.

Here's the thing, you know what's entertaining getting top 6 with an injury time equaliser. One of the best games at Fir Park was pumping new rangers 3-0 in the play off. Were we good that season? No. Did we produce a moment that made it all worthwhile? I'd say so. If you're not enjoying the games anymore it may be more to do with you than what's on the park because the overall quality is much the same as it has been over the past 15 years.

It's hard to know how much of the tombola approach is down to Covid stuff, I'm not sure what the leagues rules are with respect to contacts etc. anymore so I'm willing to give Alexander the benefit of the doubt on that a bit. Wild its 20 quid for the game on PPV, I was tempted but when you know it's going to be a shit game and you're only watching for the tension it's hard to justify 20 sheets when you're in your house.

Given we haven't won a game this calendar year it would be wild to change the team the week after our first win unless if was forced on us. I think Woolery is a better option than Efford but can't really drop anyone.

They can't if we draw with them next week. So aye a draw would mean both County and Hibs would have to win for us to be out the top 6. Wild that St Mirren in 10th can still get top 6 with the right results elsewhere (we win, Hibs lose and Aberdeen and County draw and St Mirren win obviously which since they have Rangers is the least likely result)

Losing players that are in and out the team to other teams in the league isn't really anything I'd be worried about. If we weren't struggling for results (understatement of the year there) no one would be claiming something was rotten at the club because of these moves.

We'd be even angrier if he stuck with the same side every week with the performances and results we've been getting. As for this season, it's still up in the air. If we get top 6 then we have to say on balance its been a success. If we don't then its a missed opportunity. Any season we make top 6 has got to be viewed as a success given there's 5 sides that have much much higher budgets so we've outperformed everyone comparable to us over the season. Next 3 games are massive.

Wild that O'Donnell makes the squad given he struggles to start for us.

A set of results that sees us 4th is about 60-1. If anyone fancies being annoyed for more reasons at 5 o'clock on Saturday.

Alan Campbell probably up against Chelsea tonight (unless Luton do that thing that Championship sides do where they rest players in the FA cup), a good showing here would be great for him. Did Campbell go on a "deal" after his contract ran out or was it done through the tribunal method?

Except in his last 6 months with us... I'm a fan of his as well but I'd be concerned if I were a Buddy. Poor last 6 months with us and didn't set the heather alight down south.

Saw one of the players in the New Zealand vs USA women's game got a first half hattrick of own goals. Even Stephen Craigen never managed that!

Whatever KVV did was worth it on Saturday as he had Gallacher in his back pocket. Even better when there's a good chance he'll be up against him again next week. He's one of those players that re so frustrating, though if he played to his ability every week he'd be playing for more money than we could offer.

Thats supporting motherwell I'm a nutshell though. Turning up week after week watching shite for those occasional moments where its all worth it (mibbe). Probably why only get 4,000 in.
