  1. Hard to argue against him being top earner. Player of the year so far this year, fans player of the year last year and top scorer. Would love to have him here for three years. Though you imagine he'd treble his wages going down south.
  2. I think people are harsh on SOD when he came on, he wasn't great but he wasn't a bomb scare by any stretch. Lamie and Mugabe in the middle of the back 4 for Saturday. Grimshaw probably in for Maguire. The Hearts game and the first 30 past night, if we can play like that even for 60 minutes each week we'll have a good season. As for Watt, you'd imagine a Championship side would take a punt on him. 28 years old, top scorer in the SPL, clearly has always had ability but has now screwed the nut and upped his workrate.
  3. Second yellow. One in the first half right before halftime. Second one was a yellow, just clumsy cos of the pitch.
  4. Watching at home cos I'm ill, good first half over all. Excellent in spells and never gave away too much when we were having poor periods. Maybe a little unlucky not to be further ahead. Big second half. The amount of space Mugabe is getting is wild.
  5. Same back 5 as Saturday, Goss back in (shows what I know, thought he was injured) with maguire and slattery, Watt KVV and Woolery up top.
  6. As we've shown this season we have it in us to beat pretty much anyone, or lose to anyone... Could make for a good cup run or a short one. Could be a worse draw, everyone is underwhelmed just now but with it being straight after the break we'll get all excited before it and get carried away with ourselves, which will be nice.
  7. Didn't Alexander say Goss was out until January? After a 3-0 pumping it's an easy to choice bring back in your captain who's coming off a good performance for Scotland, assume Mugabi back in the middle with Lamie on the bench. KVV to start with Watt and one of Woolery or Roberts I'd assume. Midfield the biggest question. No chance we change shape, no chance.
  8. Well, we can't be any worse in the second half at least.
  9. See the Record are linking us to Mark Doyle from Drogheda United in January? https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/motherwell-strongly-considering-contract-offer-25546640 23 year old left winger that can also play anywhere across the front three....
  10. Aye, would be harsh to drop anyone after last week so assuming there's no injuries you would go with the same side. I think we're looking far more comfortable than we were when we played Dundee twice earlier in the season, the players understand their jobs and have bought in to Alexander's shape based approach. That being said the players we have are mostly at motherwell cos they don't play to their potential every week so it could go either way.
  11. Didn't watch the game but according to Livescore he came in with 3 minutes to go. First EPL appearance you mean? Either way very impressive for someone only 19. Possible loan move for him in January or August to get him games?
  12. Well we carry plenty of height, would think that would be enough to get Carroll in as his delivery is decent. Though Maguire has a decent delivery as well so with him in the team as well as Goss a third set piece taker isn't required. McGinley is generally a better defender so I assume that's why Alexander has him in. Surprised at the midfield trio. Not the combination I'd have expected. See what happens I suppose.
  13. He must have chucked the toys well out the pram for it to have come to this.
  14. I'm surprised Hearts have had the start they've had. I don't see them as being a great side, then again they're only a pount ahead of us and I don't think we're a great side. Can see this being tight. 1 each possibly, and can see at least one team not finishing with 11 on the park.
  15. Aye thier fans will want "more", what they get is another story.
  16. Good patter here. Genuine fan of it. However GA to Aberdeen wouldn't surprise me in January assuming current form continues.
  17. He was only going to get included if one of Adams, Dykes and Nesbitt wasn't available. Might end up added to the squad if any of those three get a knock in the first game.
  18. With Roberts not available you're looking at the same front three. Even if Johansen is fit it would be harsh to drop Lamie or Ojala so probably the same back 5. Only change I can see is Donnelly in for Grimshaw and even then this is probably a game that suits Grimshaw.
  19. Been waiting for this to go up since 5pm o Saturday to vote for Tony Watt. Every big of success we had up top was down to him, he held things up fantastically, his turns opened the game up and a great goal (almost a second with the header off the bar, which was a great effort). I heard that Woolery got the sponsors man of the match at the game, its nice to see old Mrs Woolery supporting the club financially like that.
  20. Aye, if Lawrence Shankland is worth a call up then Watt (only 1 year older than Shankland) certainly is. Looking them both up, Watt has 4 times as many top flight goals in his career than Shankland. He's also much better than Brophy. If you're picking a Scotland team right now he's probably the 4th best striking option we have after Adams, Dykes and Nesbitt (who I think he's a better option than right now so he'd be my third pick).
  21. This is it for me when I'm heading praise on Slattery. Between him breaking up attacks, buying fouls all day and most importantly knowing when and being able to put his foot on the ball and just move it on a simple pass when it's being ping pinging back and forth. So many players would just continue the back and forth but he's always the one willing to take the sting out and actually move the ball. Also when is the MOTM thread going up so we can all vote for Watt again.
  22. I thought Donnelly added a good bit of composure for us when he came on, we looked far more comfortable in possession then than with Grimmy in there. What a ball from Lamie for Watts goal as well. When he won the ball, strolled up the park and then played that over the top, was beautiful for someone so maligned. Great goal from Slattery as well. All that being said we were poor today, barely won a second ball after 10 minutes in. Still though, three points and that's what matters.
  23. Any injuries except Sondre? I'm assuming the same team that played last week will start this week.
  24. Sondre must have either a knock or a virus. Is Goss injured/ill or just not fit enough yet?
