I’d expect the club to be demanding 19 home games at the expense of Hearts as if I recall correctly, previously we’ve been the ones to lose out when we weren’t factored in to made top six. That shit should cut both ways.
  3. Possibly we have no young players ready to step up, we can hope but not expect youngsters to come through every season. Of those who were in a position to make an impression this season none have managed to do so and will probably need another season or two as backups on the bench before they’re ready to play a major role.
  4. Hearts are a team that also have their frailties and the pressure on them to make the top 6 could - potentially - have them feeling nervous. If we get into them and close them down from the start forcing some early errors it could increase their nervousness and increase our confidence (until the usual silly fuck up)
  5. From memory when this was previously discussed last year I’m sure I read that in his first term as president Trump changes the US tax laws to allow Americans to write off overseas tax losses against their US investments - which meant he could claim back the losses of his overseas golf clubs - making owning a football club in the UK an attractive option as in reality it cost them nothing to buy and run.
  6. I don’t disagree that he could be sacked - most managers are - but I don’t think it will happen quickly. We’ve not been a club that quickly dismisses managers without giving them at least a year unless things are going horribly wrong. Since 2014 we’ve now had 7 permanent managers of which only two have been sacked - although I’ve no doubt the club would have sacked Alexander had he tried to stay. Baraclough - 9 months, sacked. McGhee - 16 months, left for Aberdeen. Robinson - 46 months, left at end of contract. Alexander - 18 months, left by mutual agreement. Hammell - 6 months, sacked. Kettlewell - 24 months, left. In short, unless the results and playing style are horrendous over the next 6 games leading the board to fear giving Wimmer time and money to spend then I think he will get at least until January.
  7. Might be a joke but it’s a chance - at time of writing which might not age well - needs Hearts to draw or lose today, get beat by us next week and StM to lose or draw next week also. I’d give us a 5% chance of top 6.
  8. what do you consider to be our fan base and how many people do you think it is? how much of that is this “large section” you mention? and how do you know their views? I know this is a rough back of a fag packet calculation but even though it’s a poor measurement at least it’s measurable in some sense. from memory last year there were around 2750 members of the society eligible to vote of which around 1500 had voted when the voting was cancelled due to EB withdrawing his interest. Of that 1200 had rejected the offer while 300 had accepted it giving roughly a 80% majority of those who voted or 44% of the society in favour and 11% against with 45% undecided. If you extrapolate that to the feeling of the fan base then 11% in favour isn’t really “a large section of the fan base” unless your argument is that everyone who hadn’t voted or not a member of the WS was in favour of EB’s takeover offer.
  9. Pisses me off that the teams not on the clubs website but it’s on twitter which I don’t use - how fecking hard is it to add it to the website? Poor show from the media team. Thanks Gilmore.
  10. Rumour has it that some mad burd is leading the singing
  11. Don’t hold back mate, tell us exactly how you feel.
  12. Clarke’s attitude to football management is the same as Kettlewell’s. The man has an inability to change things until it to late and then it’s throw the kitchen sink at the lost cause. After watching the second half in Athens it was clear that a back four was not going to work, I’d have went for three central defenders, MJ right wingback and AR or KT left wingback with the other playing on the left of the three defenders.
  13. Although I’d like to have seen Miller get a cap I’m actually quite happy that he never, being on the bench listening to the fans booing the team was probably bad but for his memory of his first cap I’d rather he came on to a more mellow crowd than clapped and cheered him on
  14. Or we keep him and he’s a success next season, we don’t know but no need to panic yet. If he’s the same next season your doom and gloom approach will have been proven correct but I’m not ready to throw him on the scrap heap over an unfortunate season. Many players go through this in their careers and have then become successful at clubs, why can’t he be the same next season?
  15. Probably should have checked the squad before my rant but the sentiment remains Edit: should also check I’m quoting the right post as well, was meant to be a reply to Wellfans reply to me.
  16. I’d imagine that during these two week breaks the players - especially those with family down south - will get a few days off but that could be to our benefit if they come back in a good frame of mind, refreshed and ready to get playing again.
  17. Sadly he’ll probably play second fiddle to Patterson (playing that poor that he’s been told to get his act together by Moye’s)and Ralston (most Celtic fans even think he’s a liability) as Clarke’s an idiot.
  18. I’m assuming that you’re talking about Scottish players as we have a couple of foreign internationalists playing for us at the moment.
  19. Next season Champions League playoff Champions League 2nd round Europa League playoff Europa League 2nd round Conference League 2nd round The following season this could drop to 4 places but if - and it’s a big if - the coefficient improves there’s a possibility of another conference league place but that’s very doubtful.
  20. Only due to the fact that the further they go the better Scotland’s co-efficient gets and might get a 5th place in a season or two, which means we could sneak another European trip, I’m happy to see them go further but not to win anything. Same goes with other Scottish teams before anyone thinks I’m biased.
  21. Wee Barry copying Wimmer’s tactics?
  22. How about one where he gets sent back here for another season to develop further under MW and his assistant? If they’re rated as coaches by some teams in Germany and LM feels he would progress here under them then why not?
  23. Agree, this two weeks should be about working out how to break down a defensive system. StM & Killie with both set up to defend where as Aberdeen and Hearts will be playing a more attacking game. I see us possibly getting 6 points max over the 4 games, 2 wins or 1 win and 3 draws but if our tactics are correct - and the team are able to implement them - then we could potentially take all 12 points.
  24. Well that was a day at work, managed to catch every Rangers fan who told me they would stuff us on Saturday, job done I can now spend the rest of the week chilling.
  25. Even better was his attitude towards the Rangers players after the foul - it was like fuck you , you would have done the same, get over it ya dicks
