We should know which 2 teams it could be - unless we get one of the teams that join at this stage ie who finishes 7th in the English PL.
-
From what I’ve seen - so may not be 100% correct - being seeded in Q2 means we don’t get drawn against any other team joining at the same time so we will get a team from Q1. The draw also decides who home first leg but could be reversed if the game clashes with another from the same city being the same day. If we get through then at Q3 & the play off round we would get seeded teams that have just came into the competition but not one from Scotland. As previous round a draw decides who’s home first leg. The draw dates are Q2 -15th June where we will find out which 2 teams in Q1 we could meet (Q1 games played 7th & 14th July) Q2 game dates 21st & 28th July Q3 - 18th July where we will find out who we would meet if we qualify. Q3 games dates are 4th & 11 Aug Play off draw - 1st Aug

If robbo’s boy follows mfc’s advice…

Don’t understand how you can pick and choose your games, how do you know what will be a good game and what will be dreadful? If you’re going to go with what you think we might win then you could potentially miss out on a few crackers and end up walking out of games you’ve chosen disappointed.

GA target for next season - avoid getting fucked by more that 3 goals by the OF.

Shite ball from Slattery put us under pressure

Thankfully we made it but now we’re there so here are the dates for Q2 , Q3 Q2 - July 21st & July 28th Q3 - Aug 4th & 11th I believe the final qualifying games are the 18th & 25th Aug. Going in at either stage will be tough as it could be difficult to get players signed up in time as some may want to wait for other options but Q3 gives us more time and should give GA a better chance to have a bit of a pre season.

I see it the opposite way around, the game tomorrow will be their players last chance to claim a place in the final as the last game on Saturday against Rangers will be one that both managers will play weakened teams so as not to give the other a look at set up/tactics for the final. going to be a difficult game for us but hopefully their players will look to avoid injuries that could rule them out of the final.

Not having a go at you just giving my thoughts on what you said, Point 1: GA and others have said that the squad is to big but that was a necessity due to Covid and with that - hopefully - behind us, there will be a reduction in the summer. Similarly other clubs north and south of the border will be doing the same so who knows who will become available. Point 2: A smaller squad should hopefully see an increase in wages and with the club posting a profit last season there maybe a small increase in the budget but this needs the board to show some ambition - I’m slightly optimistic on this. Our final placing will also impact our budget along with the board’s ambitions as reaching the group stages of the europa conference league is worth a couple of million if you take in prize money and gate receipts etc - hopefully the board will realise that they missed an opportunity last time and won’t make the same mistake again. Point3: We are developing youth from the academy who are still with us, ie Maguire & Cornelius, while Johnston & Devine have been out on loan and hopefully have benefited from that. Also we have been trying to bringing in youth and develop them - Shields, Teirney and Mahon to name 3. These guys will all take time to prove their worth but until his injury I thought that Barry Maguire had started showing that he could become a regular.

McCart would be an upgrade at the LB/CLB positions. Think he might be tempted down south.
-
David, Agree that Burrow will be in contact with him but I’m not sure about the rest of the board. as I said I’d expect a review at the end of the season - and fully expect him still to be here next - but if his answers don’t come up to scratch, I’d also expect the board to move if they don’t have confidence in him rather than wait. That’s what they’re there for.
-
I don’t think that at the moment Alexander’s job is either safe or under threat for next season. Surly when the season has finished, the board will sit down with Alexander and review the season. Firstly I’d imagine that there would be praise for how the season started and how he managed to get us into the top six but after that I’d like to think that he would be given a hard time making him explain what happened in the second half of the season, why our results were so poor, then what he intends to do to improve again and his vision for next season. If he impresses them with his answers he stays, if he doesn’t then he’s off.

Absolute shite second half performance topped off with Motherwell going down to ten men when Amaluzor came on.

He made his/clubs view known before the meeting but others obviously didn’t agree with that and voted for the 500. So having lost the vote he keeps his mouth shut instead of sounding like someone who can’t accept defeat and you think that’s wrong? If he’d said anything you would have no doubt been on here shouting him down for being a sore loser!

Is a wee trip abroad worth listening to those turds gloating for years to come?
-
Need to stop the long punts. Parks shit but we lose every long ball and they are set up to take advantage of the way we’re playing.
-
We will need someone who can hit the target from outside the box as I think crosses into the box will just be headed straight back out.
-
Will be interested to hear what folk think of the penalty shout, definitely came off his arm/hand which I thought was away from the body.
-
The inability to put a ball on target is what’s costing us.
-
Possibly the most telling part was at the end where, talking about the outcome of his move, he ends with “… I got a good environment “

Decision making is fucking terrible

Terrible game yesterday but thankfully we’re through. Morton set up to make things difficult and they did. Had Shields decent effort not been saved it could have been a different game. Not getting the McGuire was shit stuff - thought he tried to get the ball and pass it about quite successfully yesterday. Tierney looks promising but Carroll isn’t a centre half - IMHO.

Current restrictions are a nonsense, as an example the commercial night club in Wishaw was shut through the bells but pubs were given a late license until 2am. Pubs were very busy with youngsters enjoying themselves as they would have in the nightclub minus the dancing. From what I’ve been told very little social distancing. edit: I’m on drugs that suppress my immune system but my kids (fully vaccinated) were both out that night and I wouldn’t have thought of stopping them. Personal choice I know but going to the football should be the same.

You could have went to Peggy Gordon’s Celtic bar - probably better off going to bed :)
