  1. Agree with you in the most part but I think we should give it another week - if we’re still as bad let’s finish the league then
  2. I’m in Tenerife at the moment - Any feeds for the game?
  3. Hilariously I’m sure Gypsys, tramps and thieves was played at half time against Celtic once.
  4. Got to agree with you regarding the league, the closeness of the teams through 3-12 makes most teams play negative tactics most weeks to try and ensure staying up at the end of the season over attacking football trying for a win week in week out. On the subject of VAR I feel that yes it has a negative impact in that it holds the game up and hasn’t improved the inconsistency of referees but overall I feel that -mostly- the correct/incorrect decisions cancel each other out and as such it should be binned until we get better referees.
  5. I’m sure Wimmer said on Thursday that we had a squad of 18 signed players for next season, so if we go with a squad of 24 next season then I’d say we’re looking at 6 players coming in who are hopefully starters.
  6. Not sure if it came off the Dundee players outstretched arm when initially thrown into the box
  7. Win for us and Hearts to lose - would love to see the jambo fans suffer another relegation.
  8. I wonder if we will see a different type of game today as from memory in the other games Dundee were happy to sit back and wait for a chance and looked to be happy with a point but this time they need a win so could be more offensive minded leaving gaps that we could exploit.
  9. Not a great example to choose for your argument as I don’t think Ewan was penned in as first pick before the season started and I suspect he was played while we sorted out a loan but he started the season well, held the position for a few months but then he dropped off a bit either due to the system being played or his form just dropped - understandable for a youngster and no reflection on him - which gave Dom his chance which took and has held it since. Ewan showed in the first few games that he has talent but it needs developing and I’d expect him to be pushing for more game time next season but if he’s still not ready then another LB will need to be brought in with Ewan as back up.
  10. I think his outbreak of positivity threw you
  11. This season I’ve thought that Cameron has bossed the games against us so he’s someone we need to nullify also.
  12. I work shifts and miss a few games every year making a season ticket cost more than the games I attend but I’ll renew mine for two reasons, firstly to keep my seat next to family and friends - who I have a few pints with before and after the game - and secondly it’s money in the bank for the club allowing it to plan their budget better.
  13. Hope to feck it doesn’t happen but if Killie, RC & Dundee all beat us, Hearts & StJ then their points would be Killie 47, RC 44 & Dundee 43 Killie or Dundee can afford to lose 1 game as long as they beat the other in their head to head meaning a loss to Hearts would put us 11th on 42. Personally I think 11th will be a team on 39 or 40 points this season. Edit: other permutations are available ie Dundee could draw with is, beat Killie and be on 44 leaving us 11th on 43 points.

I’d expect the club to be demanding 19 home games at the expense of Hearts as if I recall correctly, previously we’ve been the ones to lose out when we weren’t factored in to made top six. That shit should cut both ways.
  16. Possibly we have no young players ready to step up, we can hope but not expect youngsters to come through every season. Of those who were in a position to make an impression this season none have managed to do so and will probably need another season or two as backups on the bench before they’re ready to play a major role.
  17. Hearts are a team that also have their frailties and the pressure on them to make the top 6 could - potentially - have them feeling nervous. If we get into them and close them down from the start forcing some early errors it could increase their nervousness and increase our confidence (until the usual silly fuck up)
  18. From memory when this was previously discussed last year I’m sure I read that in his first term as president Trump changes the US tax laws to allow Americans to write off overseas tax losses against their US investments - which meant he could claim back the losses of his overseas golf clubs - making owning a football club in the UK an attractive option as in reality it cost them nothing to buy and run.
  19. I don’t disagree that he could be sacked - most managers are - but I don’t think it will happen quickly. We’ve not been a club that quickly dismisses managers without giving them at least a year unless things are going horribly wrong. Since 2014 we’ve now had 7 permanent managers of which only two have been sacked - although I’ve no doubt the club would have sacked Alexander had he tried to stay. Baraclough - 9 months, sacked. McGhee - 16 months, left for Aberdeen. Robinson - 46 months, left at end of contract. Alexander - 18 months, left by mutual agreement. Hammell - 6 months, sacked. Kettlewell - 24 months, left. In short, unless the results and playing style are horrendous over the next 6 games leading the board to fear giving Wimmer time and money to spend then I think he will get at least until January.
  20. Might be a joke but it’s a chance - at time of writing which might not age well - needs Hearts to draw or lose today, get beat by us next week and StM to lose or draw next week also. I’d give us a 5% chance of top 6.
  21. what do you consider to be our fan base and how many people do you think it is? how much of that is this “large section” you mention? and how do you know their views? I know this is a rough back of a fag packet calculation but even though it’s a poor measurement at least it’s measurable in some sense. from memory last year there were around 2750 members of the society eligible to vote of which around 1500 had voted when the voting was cancelled due to EB withdrawing his interest. Of that 1200 had rejected the offer while 300 had accepted it giving roughly a 80% majority of those who voted or 44% of the society in favour and 11% against with 45% undecided. If you extrapolate that to the feeling of the fan base then 11% in favour isn’t really “a large section of the fan base” unless your argument is that everyone who hadn’t voted or not a member of the WS was in favour of EB’s takeover offer.
  22. Pisses me off that the teams not on the clubs website but it’s on twitter which I don’t use - how fecking hard is it to add it to the website? Poor show from the media team. Thanks Gilmore.
  23. Rumour has it that some mad burd is leading the singing
  24. Don’t hold back mate, tell us exactly how you feel.
  25. Clarke’s attitude to football management is the same as Kettlewell’s. The man has an inability to change things until it to late and then it’s throw the kitchen sink at the lost cause. After watching the second half in Athens it was clear that a back four was not going to work, I’d have went for three central defenders, MJ right wingback and AR or KT left wingback with the other playing on the left of the three defenders.
