I was listening to Martindale talking yesterday after the match and he said the exact same thing that KVV is the best outside the old firm. The club might get that wee transfer dangler during the summer window for him. Onwards and upwards for rest of the season and next season.
-
Yep Furlong for me aswell thought he was outstanding and wouldn't say no if he wishes to extend his stay with us for a wee while longer.
-
I ment him personally had what it seems a good season or that not allowed if yer team goes down?
-
I shall say this if the former head of youth development is now manager of first team and doesn't fancy you for first team competition what hope do you have? Don't agree with you considering he was coming off a fantastic season with QOTS Played 25 games scored 2 with 2 assists that tells me he was ready for first team. McGinn could have been pushed inside,Sol or lamie dropped and Johnston been starting with Penny on the left.
-
I think we dropped the ball with Max Johnston big time. The fact he was loaned out in September and O Donnell really hasn't been any good for us for a long long while it would have been better for us to have Max pushing for first team rather than punt him to Cove. It might have even cost us a fair few bob if he was getting the praise he has been a few clubs might have pushed on with a bid for him in January to get him signed on.
-
Max is 100 percent leaving sadly we really need to start pushing these players into first team more these development fees should be bigger transfer fees for me. Like someone said above Lennon Miller should be getting more of a push as soon as we have say two more wins we are never going down I would get those young lads in like Miller give them some first team action give them a chance.
-
100 percent believe we be pushing for top 6 and to think a fair few folk on here were still shouting for SH to still get a chance after the Raith game blows my mind. Signings and all it wouldn't have made a hoot of difference we be down with Dundee Utd seeing who went down automatically. I always said we had a squad sadly and none of those players gave up during SH reign they were used as the punch bag to deflect from the club legend badge when in truth SH and BK were utterly useless at first team management. Sounds harsh but it's facts.I mean some folk still have constant digs at KVV FFS take away his league goals and we have less goals than Ross County lowest in the league I think.20 goal seasons to this point and a fan base that's having a go at you week in week out it's pretty unbelievable.
-
Just curious as I usually switch off when Internationals are on but do we have a Chief Exec yet?Seems to be all quiet on that front unless I have missed the appointment.
-
I could see him going to a top Championship maybe Middlesboro or Sunderland a bit closer to home if that's a big concern for him but to say he has regressed and such is total nonsense. I regret we didn't have the chance to see him more in a Well shirt like alot of our young talent now we are getting to see them less and less sometimes not at all then they are away.

What an utter pish take on the matter!KVV at no point downed tools if anything he actually done more for Hammel than any other player he was by the looks of things playing injured trying to do his bit for the team. Go look at Declan Gallagher last 6 months with us that is what's called downed tools. The guy is just stating facts and right to do so not glorifying anything. I am pretty sure KVV needs 2 goals to get 19 goals which is more than Louis Moult scored in a season with us.Not bad for being lazy and downed tools eh?
-
Exactly!Ingame Management from Kettlewell was something we have been missing under Hammell was pretty much non existent tbh.Its one of the things I have been really impressed with under Kettlewell. Christ we beat ten men today that in itself is an achievement lol.
-
I see change this and change that wtf would you want to change a team that's unbeaten in 4 makes no sense exactly the opposite. What we are doing is clearly working and it works with the players we have Great win today great effort from all.
-
That's it mate just don't have the answer to that it's all a risk really but all the development fees we get we should be getting transfer fees. I feel blessed we had Campbell for ages and got to see Turnbull come good feel like we will miss out on seeing Johnston in a Well shirt for long which is kinda gutting. I have a feeling he might end up Aberdeen just have feeling old AB will be sniffing around that like a rat lol. I think having an old man as an ex footballer might have not helped our cause in contract negotiations either pretty sure he will have enough contacts to get him a better deal elsewhere. I mean some of the clubs apparently looking at him down south even playing in the development leagues down in England is some standard to test yourself it's rammed with talent.
-
We will never ever make any money on our youth players unless we play them more in the first team it's as simple as that. I would rather have seen a Max Johnston pushing for a first team since start of season than O Donnell who has been utterly useless for well over a year when he has came in. Least with a young one you will get endless effort and keen to Impress some of the performances I witnessed from certain first team players last 7 months of so I wouldn't let them on the training pitch.
-
100 percent this!we used every other Lego brick to fill that hole and O.Donnell has been pretty much a non event for about a year and half. I can't for life of me understand why he was allowed to go out on loan to Cove in September more so by a manager that's watched my career progress but doesn't fancy me to actually play for the first team when I am clearly good enough.
-
You can't force a contract true but you can see potential that should have been playing in our first team. I say this 6 months playing with us no matter how bad we were I be willing to bet we would have got made a few offers in January for him just a good footballer talented kid Christ he might have even signed a new contract. He didn't get all this potential and quality from being at Cove for 6 months come on now. Dropped the soap on this one sadly.
-
What for me is worse that Steven Hammel of youth set up to manager didn't get him contracted up as soon as he became manager. The fact from what I gather had a fantastic season at QOTS let's be honest could have walked into the team so what did Hammell do sends him out to Cove! That in itself was probably the final nail in the coffin for the guy shouldn't have been out on loan in first place. When I heard Hammel go on about bridging the gap between First team and youth set up in his first interview utter nonsense hardly got a glimpse of seeing our young guys hardly even a bit part.
-
Shields has come in for over the top criticism really not had a far chance playing in natural position but folk piss and moan about KVV aswell apart from the fact totally different player last 3 games, think he is 4th top striker in the league defo top 5th. So Shields has no chance when you think about it with our fan base.
-
My last thoughts on Hammel. Terrible number 2 appointment that was a massive mistake. The August transfer window was a farce when we are pinning hopes on a striker that might be fit that's hardly kicked a ball for years and a winger that has an injury list aslong as yer arm I knew it was going to be dicey. Keep forcing with a formation until it works making the players miserable and life sucked out them. When you listen to Kettlewell and Hammel it's like night an day I am glad Hammel got the sack before it got extremely toxic which it would have become by now if it carried on. I for one am much happier now than I was two weeks ago and I hope it remains like this under Kettlewells management.Onwards and upwards COYW.
-
I say one thing KVV looks a totally different player last two games now he has so actual support.Yesterday he was absolutely fantastic. Him and Obika total handful for Hearts yesterday defence.Look a good pairing.
-
I couldn't give a flying shite how cheap he is the key to it is this he has the players performing and performing well think he has enough to keep us up. End of the season or a year and a half contract whatever from the doom and gloom under Hammell and Kerr to this?I know what one I shall be picking everyday. Mind boggles what was going on under last management team whatever it was must have been shocking.
-
I say one thing how good is the pressing under Kettlewell my god I been missing that all season.Every man from front to back right in Hearts players faces no time for them on the ball.
-
KVV totally fantastic today chased down absolutely everything track back and holding ball upfront. Him and Obika up front are such a handful.
-
100 percent the fitness has been worse since the return from the World Cup break.I don't know what they were doing but it's regressed terribly. But that has to do with the management team really drilling the players properly. I truly believe this is why the midfield have been so bad at tracking back this season the fitness isn't upto scratch. Slattery is prime example he has gave away so many yellow cards this season because he is not fit enough to keep up with opponents so just fouls them.
-
Watched a few interviews with McCann and been impressed how he comes across doesnt shirk about pulling up players, not shy calling them embarrassing and threating with shipping them out on loan. Would have to be on a long term contract that might be the stumbling block don't think the board will be offering any of them soon.
