  1. I could be wrong but I’m sure Sunday was St.Mitten’s first defeat in a good few. They will be a tough opponent, no doubt about that and if the wind and rain keeps up then it will only make things even tougher. It will not be a pretty spectacle this evening, that’s for sure. I can see shades of that horrendous midweek double header against St.Mirren from back in February 2020. The 4-4 Cup debacle that we lost on penalties followed by a 1-2 defeat in the league the week later.
  2. It’s hard to tell what will happen with Roberts to be honest. I certainly can’t see us paying any sort of fee for him, especially with his Hearts contract up at the end of May.
  3. Gallagher? He’s already gone? I know you like to get up on your high horse and all sanctimonious on here about other supporters giving (quite often perfectly valid) criticism of the club and certain players but you really should get your facts/players right before posting.

That’s a really good read that, honest and up front. He certainly looks to be enjoying his football here and has that rapport with the support. Naturally though he will have one eye on his next deal and it’s going to be hard to keep him here if he maintains his form. Hopefully though his enjoyment at being at the club and the fact that he himself acknowledges that he wasn’t as happy or settled elsewhere will be a factor in in his decision, although we all know that money talks. I reiterate, I hope he stays focussed and stays in form for us this season and what happens after that will take care of itself. And I hope he remains below the national team’s radar, for now anyway.
  5. If we play against St.Mirren like we did yesterday, or against Hearts, or against Ross County for that matter then we will be lucky to get a draw. I’d be dropping O’Donnell and Grimshaw for this one, 100%. 1-2 defeat I reckon.
  6. Yes. But the problem is that we don’t win the headers. In that case zonal marking is useless.
  7. I wouldn’t be against that either. Obviously Ojala has captained his country so would be an obvious candidate but I can see the case for Watt. O’Donnell being captain just won’t do though.
  8. I said that when he was appointed. SO’D is never a captain/leader in a million years. I would be giving Ojala the captaincy tomorrow.
  9. Weak at full back, weak at centre back and feeble up front. That is the only way to describe today and the last three straight losses. Big week coming up for us.
  10. He’s a good shot stopper but clearly very weak at dealing with cross balls. I remember you saying on here after the Airdrie debacle that he was too wee, I think you are right.
  11. Our inability to defend cross balls into our box costs us yet again.
  12. Considering the goal we had chalked off in the first half that decision evened that one out.
  13. Kelly again doesn’t cover himself in glory but that one’s on O’Donnell. Piss poor defending.
  14. For as long as I’ve supported Motherwell we have never, ever been good at short corners.

    Thumbs up Shaun Fagan
  16. Slattery is a very good player. He does the simple things well without being spectacular and will be a key part of our team this season. As for Saturday I don’t see us getting anything sadly. 4-1 home win.
  17. I would absolutely get O’Donnell out of the first team, that’s for starters. O’Hara in the middle may well be a decent shout KVV needs to start.

    The 2020s Mark Reynolds.
  19. I don’t like those chants/chat either. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Celtic but when you resort to that it just cheapens any argument you have against them.
  20. They definitely have more. Have you forgotten a prominent section of their support caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to Fir Park not so long ago? That is but one example. All in all they are just a horrible, horrible club. They run the Scottish game through manipulation and bullying and have plenty of backing in the media and in politics to help them do so. You don’t need science to be able to see this.
  21. I’m not saying people should boo him (and I know some did and I didn’t agree with that either) but I just can’t get on board with applauding opposition players scoring against us. Football isn’t, or shouldn’t be like that. When you add in that it was for a club who have openly disrespected us over the years (Lennon, Boyd, Rodgers) tried to sign our prize asset (Faddy) on loan with the option to buy at 250k or something derisory like that back in 2003 and who’s supporters call us ‘h**s’ and regularly sing songs glorifying the death of one of our 91 Cup winning team. That just makes it all the worse.
  22. We’ve always had mugs in our support who do this, especially with ex players like Vigurs, Foran etc. it’s absolutely cringeworthy. However for any Motherwell fan to clap a goal scored against us by Celtic? They should be fucking ashamed of themselves.
