That’s correct, our away kit looks more like a Livingston kit than their’s does.
-
Another poor game on that shitey pitch. Another abject performance from us. Another defeat. 1-0 home win.
-
I’m surprised you can see that through the amount of smoke you are blowing up Celtic’s arses to be honest. They are clearly the best side in Scotland just now but if you can watch that game and not see that Taylor, Ralston and Welsh are defensively suspect then there is no hope for you. As I said Celtic look good just now but your last few posts about them on here make them sound like 1970 Brazil.
-
It’s safe to say that if the likes of Hibs, Dundee and Airdrie(!) can exploit our defensive weaknesses with relative ease then Celtic will be capable of taking anything between five and ten goals off us, it just depends on how many they want to score.
-
Our Cup record against top flight teams is utterly deplorable. With the obvious exception of the 2017/2018 season we have won just once in a knockout tie against a fellow top flight side since the 2011 SCSF and that was three years ago against Livingston in the League Cup last 16. That is nothing short of disgraceful especially when you consider that we have only been paired with one of the Old Firm on three occasions in that time, again not counting 2017/18 with that.
-
Seen a few from Dundee fans saying some of our fans goading/fighting with “old men just trying to get home” after the game and a good few calling our fans ‘scumbags’ etc but at the same time a few Motherwell fans posting that it was the stewards/police who escalated the situation. Always two sides to every story of course. I wasn’t there myself so couldn’t say either way.
-
I can see him walking sooner rather than later to be honest and have thought so since the first game back this season. I’m not saying that he should go or even that I want him to but the way he comes across he seems less than enthusiastic about the task of taking us forward.
-
Saw a few reports of that on twitter, though some appear to be saying that it was down to the stewards. Who knows though, but not good to hear either way.
-
Was Newell's dad (Mike) not an ex team mate/friend of Robinson's or something along they lines?
-
Granted but at the same time we need to be signing the right players who are actually going to make an impact. Far, far too often we falling short on this and it just seems like our recruitment policy is just sign X amount of players, usually from the English lower leagues and hope we can find a decent one in among them.
-
We sign at least one of those every single fucking year! You think of Newell, Fisher, Plummer, Sammon, McCormack, Sloth, Ilic, Seedorf, White, McGinley, Parker and much more who have come and gone, some even completely unnoticed over the past three or four years. For a club that's never done banging on about limited and meagre budgets we don't half spunk it on utter dross constantly and some of whom don't even get near the first team. It's mental!
-
He does but as I said the other week there, our issues run alot deeper than the manager. Our recruitment and scouting system is abysmal. Going by our transfer business during every window since 2017 then I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in us getting the players that we need in before the end of the month.
-
FT 1-0. Utter fucking shite Motherwell.
-
I like Watt but have to agree with that, he's not an out and out scorer but we can't seem to sign one of them for the life of us. You tend to find that if you 1) can't defend, 2) can't score goals and 3) have no midfield then you don't win many football matches. Our squad fits all three criteria.
-
Opponents know that all they need to do is put a half decent cross into our box and they have a more than decent chance of scoring. Watt should have scored there too.
-
We better hope that we address the midfield and final third before the transfer window shuts because this current squad as it is just won't do. And yet another goal lost from a cross ball...we never learn
-
1-0 Dundee and no more than we deserve. Another pitiful performance and yet another early cup exit.
-
Fair enough then if that's the case, can't be helped. Half time 0-0 not much between the sides so far, could go either way.
-
I don’t think it is to be honest, most clubs communicate news about injuries and most certainly do about covid cases. If they are missing due to injury or covid related issues then fair enough, there’s nothing anyone can do about that but if they are simply dropped/rested and we lose then questions need to be asked of the selection decisions.
-
No van Veen or O’Donnell and Watt benched? I’ve not heard anything about them being injured or otherwise unavailable so I presume they have been dropped? If so and we don’t win this game then that’s a joke of a decision by the manager. I’m sick of us not taking Cup games seriously.
-
Our strongest team needs to start this one. No treating this as “just the league cup” or any nonsense like that. This is a must win game in a competition that we should be looking to go as far as possible in. Reckon we’ll sneak it 3-2.
-
Or “Punching way above our weight” in Latin or something.
-
He certainly did improve towards the tail end of the season, ironically enough when his ex Livi teammate Gallagher played less games. A coincidence perhaps but he looked an absolute bombscare for the first part of the season when alongside Gallagher in defence.
-
Amazingly he was. That was the most assured performance I’ve seen from him in a Motherwell jersey.
-
Full time 1-1. Happy with that to be honest. Not a great performance but getting our first point on the board for the season is important. A very well taken goal from Watt and but for a few cracking saves from Clark we could have sneaked it. Midfield and defence are still a major issue but it’s early days and we still have time to address those areas. All in all, a good result.
