  1. Considering that Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs and Kilmarnock have all effectively got byes to the Quarters then that’s a given unfortunately. It will be very difficult bordering on impossible for us to get any further than the last eight but there’s no guarantee that we’ll get past Morton. This tie could well be 2024’s and Kettlewell’s Raith Rovers.
  2. Callan Elliot signed until the end of the season. A full back apparently and a New Zealand internationalist. I won’t lie, my initial thought when seeing his name was that it was Callum Elliot and I’ve still got bad memories of loaning him under Malpas in 06/07
  3. A good away day for the travelling support. Hopefully this is played at 3pm on the Saturday and we’ll take a good number through there and fill out the ‘Wee Dublin’ end with the big crane behind it. Won’t be an easy game though, we’re not good enough to expect it to be easy against a Championship side especially away from home. Hopefully we will have some reinforcements up front by the time this comes around but I won’t hold my breath on that one.
  4. Yes they will. Anyone who wants one will get one.
  5. I don’t think I could handle a penalty shootout against them again. And we’ve still got a score to settle after our last visit there in 2015 in the League Cup.
  6. Angry as ever I see? Thankfully I was wrong. It’s not a brilliant draw for us but it could have been worse. It’s winnable!
  7. We’ll draw a Premiership side, nothing surer. Fingers crossed for Bonnyrigg Rose at home 🤞
  8. Job done, that’s all that matters in the Scottish Cup. Three good goals. Spittal did well to make up for his penalty miss with a great free kick. And good to get revenge on Alloa at last. Their goalkeeper wasn’t jumping about like his arse was on fire at the end today! Fuck the Clackmannanshire Bridge!
  9. Knew he was missing that! Same as the Killie game back in August where we missed after a long delay.
  10. HT grim grim stuff. This could go either way.
  11. Conor fucking Sammon! Had to be him.
  12. It is but it’s a sign of the absolute state of the squad we have. Weak as piss and devoid of quality.
  13. It’s not the most overwhelming signing I admit and he’s spent more time on Clyde SSB than on a football park this season but he’s here and he deserves his chance so he’ll get my support.
  14. Welcome to the club Andy. Hopefully his experience of playing at this level will benefit us.
  15. It would be if I actually did that. But I don’t though? Do I? If I think we’ll lose I predict a loss. If I think we’ll win I predict a win. And if I think we’ll be relegated then I’ll say it. I think this is the first season in years that I genuinely have come out and said that I think we will be relegated. In previous years I’ve said it was a possibility, which it certainly looked like for a while last season, but this year something feels different.
  16. Yeah he was a decent player for them and considered a big prospect if I remember correctly. I’ve not followed his career so don’t know how things have gone for him since.
  17. ‘Fuck Hearts Wankers’ Horrific patter that was quite the thing on these boards back in the day.
  18. Oh of course, the ‘Faithers of the support’ don’t want to hear any criticism of the team and the club from anyone who didn’t watch us play in the first division in the 1980s. Why not throw in a ‘FHW’ rant about Hearts and their fans for the full house?
  19. I’ve supported Motherwell FC for well over 30 years and I have no intention of stopping now, even if I do believe we are in dire straits. So I won’t be going anywhere to support anyone else.
  20. Because we’re rank rotten and have won once in the last four and a half months. Obviously on paper it would look like a shock but for anyone who’s seen us this season then it really wouldn’t be that surprising. Their players don’t need to be a threat to us, we are capable of doing that all by ourselves because we can’t score goals and can’t defend so they will get chances. I stand by my earlier prediction. We will draw and then get beat on penalties, just like we did in 1996.
  21. We are a mess, on and off the park. Going all the way back to July 2022 we have been operating in a shambolic manner with ridiculous recruitment and managerial appointment decisions. Alan Burrows jumping ship when he did is now starting to look like he very much saw the writing on the wall and got out before the shit well and truly hit the fan and a year on we are nowhere nearer to finding a replacement for him. On the park we have been dreadful this season and that lies at the door of the manager and head of recruitment. That, along with our horrendous luck with injuries this season and now the loss of our only good player definitely looks like the die is cast for us and we are going down this season.
  22. It will be no shock whatsoever if they turn us over on Saturday. That would just be the ‘perfect’ end to a dismal week, with Slattery’s injury and now Biereth being recalled.
  23. Sadly that’s all we’ve got to cling to, that other teams can be slightly more shite than us. Like I said, we have nothing to look forward to as a club.
  24. Absolute hammer blow to lose Biereth, the only quality attacking option we have. As others have said I have absolutely no faith in SK to bring in an adequate replacement in this window and his dismal transfer business last summer is going to get us relegated. This season cannot end quick enough. The end of this season may very well bring with it the end of our top flight status but if that’s what’s going to happen then we just need to deal with it however we can. There is literally nothing to look forward to between now and May. Our team is shite, our manager is out of his depth and relegation is looming.
