  1. Good to see Robinson, Dunne, St.Mirren and the rest of the dirty bastards knocked out of the Cup last night. No dream trip to Hampden for them.
  2. Well we’ve managed to get draws with both of them in recent times, last season 1-1 at Parkhead and the season before 1-1 and 2-2 at Ibrox. But I was talking more about actually getting wins in this fixture. And Sunday there was just another in the latest of the long line of hard luck stories, particularly against Rangers. How many times have we come out of those games saying “we deserved more” or “if only we had done this or not done that”?? It’s always the same old story for us, whether we get outright pumped or run them close but lose anyway. Other sides like like Killie, St.Johnstone, St.Mirren, Dundee Utd, Ross County even Accies have managed to record wins in recent times against one or both of them whilst we pat ourselves on the back for a supposed ‘brave’ showing in a narrow defeat or shrug our shoulders when on the end of a heavy pumping and tell ourselves that it doesn’t matter because of budgets etc
  3. This outlook of “these games are irrelevant” is why, in my opinion, we haven’t beaten Celtic since 2015, Rangers since 2017 and haven’t recorded a league victory against them in over twenty years. This attitude and mindset runs right through our club from the boardroom to the support. I am fully aware and fully accept that we will never compete with either over a course of a season and am also fully aware that we will lose the vast majority of games against both sides due to the huge gulf in resources, as is the case with every other non OF club. However, other sides of a similar stature and with a similar budget to us have managed to get wins against them, both of them in some cases since we last managed to beat one of the Old Firm almost six years ago now. Kilmarnock have managed to do a double over the already this season to give but one example. I personally don’t see us beating either of the Old Firm ever again, partly because the gap in finances is increasing and also because of our collective mindset and mentality as a club. Numerous managers have come and gone, numerous players have come and gone since we last managed to beat either of them and the support nowadays just shrug their shoulders and dismiss these games as irrelevant. To me that points to a mentality issue within the club as a whole. I’ll say it again, Kilmarnock have beaten both of them already this season. Does anyone think we would have done the same had we played them both at home? Seriously? No, neither do I.
  4. It won't happen but I can't stress how much I would love a result here and stick it to Celtic, their sanctimonious hoardes, Tom fucking Boyd and that rubber faced condescending slimy prick Rodgers.
  5. Doesn’t matter who plays in goal for them if we aren’t capable of creating chances and scoring goals I’m afraid.
  6. Yeah the only way we will score is if they score an o.g like they did last season.
  7. Correct. And when you take into consideration how much emphasis SK and the club put into how meagre our budget is then signing a player over thirty who we knew was injury prone and a player who was ridiculed by St.Johnstone fans last season then it’s crazy. I think there was definitely something in the talk of us being in for Steven Fletcher, SK perhaps expected that to happen but he didn’t want to come so Ollie Shaw was signed at the last minute.
  8. Overall as a team we definitely are yes. But we just don’t have goals in us and that is our biggest downfall.
  9. I’m afraid so. It’s days like today and last week that demonstrate just how valuable van Veen was for us last season. For all we had a terrific revival under Kettlewell from February onwards how much of that was down to KvV making the difference in games?
  10. But with the same old predictable result.
  11. Again a decent performance but it boils down to the most basic thing about football. If you can’t score goals you don’t win games.
  12. That’s John ‘Klinsmann’ Hendry to you and me….according to McLeish.
  13. Firstly, do we know that Biereth is ‘outstanding’ as you put it? He’s not even played the total of a half of football for us yet. He does look the part on the very brief showings so far, that can’t be denied and losing him like we did was a hammer blow. Secondly, we also signed Wilkinson who doesn’t have a track record of scoring goals, Obika who is 32 y/o and crocked and Bair who scored one goal for St.Johnstone last season. And Ollie Shaw whom the jury is still out of on. So obviously there was a huge deal of bad luck with Biereth but the signings of Obika and Bair in particular were madness.
  14. Same story as last week basically. Yet again our glaring weaknesses up front and poor summer transfer business is haunting us.
  15. A shitey deflected goal out of nothing for them? Absolutely.
  16. I’m sure his bigger pay packet that he’s picking up at Utd will numb the pain for him.
  17. Wilkinson back in the squad albeit on the bench.
  18. They were yes, though those games won’t have any bearing on what happens this Sunday. I do think though that this type of game is one that might, just might suit us and our style of play. We don’t have a recognised goalscorer but we do have a side that can frustrate teams who are better than us man for man. We saw that at Tynecastle the other week and we saw it at Celtic Park back in April, albeit with the advantage of having a proper striker on that occasion. We say the same every time before these games but it’s vital that we don’t concede early here. The longer we frustrate them the better for us and the more their fans will get on their backs. I don’t see us not conceding but the longer we keep them out the better, and if we can get ourselves in front even better still. Or we could just do our usual and get pumped 3-0.
  19. In all likelihood we will get beat on Sunday. However given our strong away form under Kettlewell then that might give us a glimmer of hope that we can snatch something.
  20. Yes, my mistake. I’ve corrected it now.
  21. If we can keep our unbeaten away league record under Kettlewell going then that will make for a superb September weekend. 1-1
  22. Good luck to them fuck all. Their fans are arseholes and their manager uses tactics that set out to kick and injure opponents. They need to fall asap and the sooner that happens the better.
  23. Well obviously, but I still take satisfaction in our fans letting him know that he’s a c**t for his assault on Biereth the other week. Put it simply, Dunne, Robinson and St.Mirren are c**ts and the sooner they fall the better.
