  1. We need to wait until he picks up a long term injury before he fits the criteria for us to bring him home.
  2. Lamie joins Dundee on loan for the season.
  3. Both, probably. But this is the match thread, it’s not about me. What’s your thoughts on the game today? (I see you’ve already posted your thoughts sorry) Today in the first half we were second best to Kilmarnock. They looked more physical, held their shape better and looked much more dangerous in attack and deservedly led 1-0 at the break and it should have been more if we’re being honest. In the second half the substitution of Paton for Efford helped boost us in the middle and Bair, who had a nightmare in the first half actually looked a bit more comfortable and competent. It was a good team move for the equaliser and a draw was probably a fair result even though we’d missed a penalty. Again a ridiculous length of time for VAR to check and confirm the original decision. But we snatched the points at the death from a cool finish from the aforementioned Paton and tonight we are sitting with seven points out of a possible nine. Which, our league cup exit to St.Mirren apart, makes for a very good start to the season for us.
  4. Never mind me and what I post as an anonymous internet forum member. We got a really good win today, focus on that.
  5. This aged well. Not only did I get the subbed player wrong but Paton goes and scored the winner.
  6. Wow! After that first half I thought we’d be lucky to keep it to three and in then end we’ve went and snatched it and are now joint top of the league! Say what you like about Kettlewell, his recruitment and our lack of forward options, he sure has an excellent record for us. Great to see McInnes greetin at the end and always great sticking it to Killie at the death like that after the amount of times they’ve done the same to us. Dick Turpin and all that. #You can stick yer paper roses up yer arse#
  7. Paton on for Spittal. Suffering fuck.
  8. We’re being totally outplayed and should be 3-0 down. Killie are more physical, better organised and much more comfortable on the ball. They also have forward players with ability. On early evidence Spencer looks poor and SO’D is getting skullfucked at right back everytime they attack down his side.
  9. Bair is absolute gash. Painfully out of his depth.
  10. Dismal stuff so far. Not in the game, getting outplayed and 1-0 down thanks to schoolboy defending.
  11. ‘Rumours’ on Twitter (I know, not the most reliable source) that Wilkinson has done his calf and is out for three months.
  12. We’ve either been extremely unlucky with regards to signing crocks this summer or we’ve done absolutely no research on their fitness. The way things are going I expect Kettlewell to confirm that Wilkinson will be out until at least January.
  13. Efford starts up front along side Bair. Spencer debuts. Wilkinson not even on the bench so he must be injured now too. You couldn’t make it up.
  14. Welcome to the club Brodie Spencer.
  15. He coined the term “Brave as a lion” for Phil O’Donnell I believe. I’m not a fan of McCoist as a pundit or a commentator but those were iconic words to describe PO’D scoring that goal in the 91 final.
  16. Faddy as a commentator/pundit is absolutely awful. Talk about “stating the obvious” on just about everything.
  17. I think it’s pretty telling that a poster like David, who is usually very balanced, reasonable and tends to be “glass half full” when it comes to our team and our chances, is saying that he thinks the current squad is poor, on paper at least. This most definitely is a poor squad, on the face of it, and only time will tell if Kettlewell’s ability to make us hard to beat will continue to work in our favour.

    Set Pieces

Did we ever benefit from Craigan doing his open the East Stand gate to take a throw in thing? I remember him opening the gate two weeks on the trot but don’t remember if we ever actually scored after it?

    New kit for 2023/24

Are we using the same shirts for both the home and away kits this season? Pretty poor if we are. The away top would actually be perfect with white shorts.
  20. Well as I've already said on the other thread I think we will win on Saturday. And if we do then we will be on seven points out of nine which would make for a good start to the league season. But I'm still concerned about the quality and depth within the squad.
  21. No chance of winning the Scottish Cup. We’ll probably draw St.Mirren again in the 4th Round or some other top flight side and that’ll be that. You never know though, we might get lucky and draw a lower league side, like Dundee Utd and Moult will score against us while his fanboys in the East Stand blow him kisses and throw their knickers at him.
  22. Kettlewell did a very good job in stabilising us last season and deserves his chance to prove himself but he certainly hasn’t covered himself in glory as far as his recruitment has gone this summer. We knew KvV was leaving at the end of last season and preparations to get in an adequate replacement(s) should have been made. Obviously it was going to be nigh on impossible for us to find another 29 goal a season striker but for us to be approaching the end of the window with a crocked and aging Obika, 6ft 4ins Wilkinson who looks like he’s never headed a football in his life, Bair who scored once for St.Johnstone last season, Efford who is himself injured and now a loanee who will probably not play for us again(obviously not his or the managers fault to be fair) is absolutely dismal. We could well be forced to throw in a 17 year old Mark Ferrie in the hope that he can offer us something up front. Not good at all.
  23. I sincerely hope Dunne gets it right from the East Stand when St.Mirren come to Fir Park next month.
