Georgie Gent confirmed. Great name it has to be said.
-
Hearts certainly got a chasing tonight, as was expected, but it was hardly an energy sapping 90 minutes for them as you would have hoped ahead of Sunday. I think our best chance here is keep it at 0-0 and frustrate them as long as possible then maybe nick one late on. I can’t see us not conceding though unfortunately.
-
The problem there is that our centre forwards are equally pish, at best.
-
Oli Shaw confirmed on season long loan.
-
Fletcher would be a good signing, even at 36 years old. He’d certainly be a better option up front than Theo Bair. Knowing our luck though we’d sign him and he’d get injured during his first training session.
-
That’s true and I’m certainly not going to get carried away. However I think Kettlewell has a bit more credit in the bank than Hammell did this time last year given how he sorted us out and guided us to safety last season.
-
And most importantly imo, he seems to be able to get the best out of what he has at his disposal and the players play for him. He transformed Spittal and KvV’s attitudes and application when he took over in February and now despite having a threadbare squad we’re sitting with 7 points from the first possible 9. That is impressive.

We’ve won only three out of the last fourteen visits to Tynecastle, it’s a traditionally difficult venue for us where wins are few and far between. Plus they are a significantly better side man for man than we are due to having significantly bigger resources than we do, so them playing in Europe on Thursday night or not will unlikely make too much of a positive difference for us.

Lost our last three visits to Tynecastle, it’s a traditionally tough place to go as an away side, we lack goals and if we defend like we did in the first half yesterday then Hearts have players who can exploit that. But to suggest we will lose here is trolling? Nae worries 👍
-
We’ll get nothing here. Hearts aren’t great away from home but at Tynecastle they are a different prospect. They also have Lawrence Shankland who is a clinical striker at this level. 3-0 home win.
-
We need to wait until he picks up a long term injury before he fits the criteria for us to bring him home.

Lamie joins Dundee on loan for the season.

Both, probably. But this is the match thread, it’s not about me. What’s your thoughts on the game today? (I see you’ve already posted your thoughts sorry) Today in the first half we were second best to Kilmarnock. They looked more physical, held their shape better and looked much more dangerous in attack and deservedly led 1-0 at the break and it should have been more if we’re being honest. In the second half the substitution of Paton for Efford helped boost us in the middle and Bair, who had a nightmare in the first half actually looked a bit more comfortable and competent. It was a good team move for the equaliser and a draw was probably a fair result even though we’d missed a penalty. Again a ridiculous length of time for VAR to check and confirm the original decision. But we snatched the points at the death from a cool finish from the aforementioned Paton and tonight we are sitting with seven points out of a possible nine. Which, our league cup exit to St.Mirren apart, makes for a very good start to the season for us.

Never mind me and what I post as an anonymous internet forum member. We got a really good win today, focus on that.
-
This aged well. Not only did I get the subbed player wrong but Paton goes and scored the winner.
-
Wow! After that first half I thought we’d be lucky to keep it to three and in then end we’ve went and snatched it and are now joint top of the league! Say what you like about Kettlewell, his recruitment and our lack of forward options, he sure has an excellent record for us. Great to see McInnes greetin at the end and always great sticking it to Killie at the death like that after the amount of times they’ve done the same to us. Dick Turpin and all that. #You can stick yer paper roses up yer arse#
-
My mistake sorry.
-
Paton on for Spittal. Suffering fuck.
-
We’re being totally outplayed and should be 3-0 down. Killie are more physical, better organised and much more comfortable on the ball. They also have forward players with ability. On early evidence Spencer looks poor and SO’D is getting skullfucked at right back everytime they attack down his side.
-
Bair is absolute gash. Painfully out of his depth.
-
Dismal stuff so far. Not in the game, getting outplayed and 1-0 down thanks to schoolboy defending.
-
‘Rumours’ on Twitter (I know, not the most reliable source) that Wilkinson has done his calf and is out for three months.
-
We’ve either been extremely unlucky with regards to signing crocks this summer or we’ve done absolutely no research on their fitness. The way things are going I expect Kettlewell to confirm that Wilkinson will be out until at least January.
-
Efford starts up front along side Bair. Spencer debuts. Wilkinson not even on the bench so he must be injured now too. You couldn’t make it up.
