  1. Bit harsh in your assessment there but you are definitely right about O’Donnell, Soare and Wilkinson. None of them look like they will be able to make a positive impact in the team this season, on the early evidence at least. Bair looked surprisingly decent in the first half and took the goal well but was anonymous in the second half, thought to be fair to him he got no support from the middle.
  2. FT 1-1. Not a bad result to start the season with, I’ll take that.
  3. Almost strange seeing McGinley again after the length of time he was out.
  4. Poor stuff. Decent ball in but completely ran off his man.
  5. That’s the best way for him to shut up his naysayers (me included). He scores goals for us then it won’t matter a jot how underwhelming a signing he was or how he was viewed by St.Johnstone fans. 45 minutes into the season and it’s Theo Bair 1-0 His doubters.
  6. The fucking BAIR!!! Lovely move and finish!
  7. The balls starting to hold up in the water. This is going to become a complete lottery if the rain keeps up. Some advert for summer football!
  8. Dundee have a better front line than we do but we are doing better in the middle of the park so far.
  9. To be fair I thought his name was Blair when he was at St.Johnstone last season and it was only when he signed for us that I realised it was actually Bair. 😂
  10. Two evenly matched sides so far. The type of game where one goal will decide it.
  11. He was obviously a very limited player but naturally he wrote himself into our history books with a debut 2nd half hattrick. I’m sure he was one one of the players released when admin hit a couple of months later?
  12. Here he comes again, the pub bore. Away and play the puggy and give us all peace.
  13. SO’D and Kelly back in. Wilkinson and Bair lead the line, Efford on the bench. Obika still out.
  14. I’m not saying Moult should be booed or abused when playing against us, be he shouldn’t be applauded especially if he scored against us. In my opinion, of course.
  15. He might not celebrate it but some of our fans will probably applaud him if he did score against us.
  16. Turnbull is a good lad, even if he does play for a horrible club. Rodgers is an oily, creepy shark-faced prick.
  17. I totally agree and I’m glad we didn’t try to re-trace old steps again by giving him another chance after the way it panned out last season. Weesht.
  18. Moult has looked much more like the Moult we knew and loved so far tonight. He looks a lot fitter and sharper than he did at any point last season. But as I’ve always said, no player is bigger than the club. See whenever I read your posts, I just immediately think of the average ‘pub bore’. You know, the loudmouth that stands at the bar listening into and trying to butt into various conversations around him. Always got plenty to say about fuck all and is just a general annoyance to everyone in earshot. Anyone who has ever frequented a pub in or around Motherwell or Glasgow in the last 20 years will know where I’m coming from on that.
  19. I didn’t say he didn’t know what he was doing with signings, just that they were underwhelming so far, which they are. That may be down to factors outwith his control, ie. budget. What I have said though is that SK has earned the chance to prove himself after doing a very good job so far since taking over in February. He managed to get a lot more out of certain players than Hammell did and the workrate and application was ten times better once SK took over. So if he continues to do well for us, getting that bit more out of players, even our ‘underwhelming’ signings and we as a team do well then it stands to reason that he’ll attract the attention of the likes of Aberdeen should they be looking for a new manager. All hypothetical of course.
  20. If they get off to a bad start in the league then the pressure will be straight on Robson. And if we are outperforming them in the league then it’s only natural to expect Kettlewell to be in the frame should they punt Robson.
  21. Definitely, he’s not going to be a regular in the team throughout the season but I can see him having that ‘wow’ factor now and again and I think he’ll make an impact. It’s too early to say if he’s going to have a Turnbull type impact in the longer term but there is definitely cause for optimism around him.
  22. I think Spittal will be a key player for us this season, with Lennon Miller being the one who gets fans off their feet. Obviously we can’t pin too much expectation on him as he’s only going to turn 17 this month but this could be a big season for him.
  23. Right. So, any thoughts on the season ahead then?
