1-1 Only one winner now.

Right decision to be fair.
-
Been poor so far but I’ll take that. Johnson yet again makes the goal. A ridiculous length of time for a VAR check though.
-
They did, so we can. Not that we had a realistic chance of it anyway.
-
Butcher starts.

The bubble won’t necessarily be burst if we lose today, we still have a decent gap between ourselves and the bottom sides but it will certainly make things more uncomfortable for us going into the split. It just feels like one of those days when it feels set up for us to do well and it doesn’t happen. - We’re on a good run - We are playing the bottom side at home - We could all but cement Premiership safety with a win…. ”We’ll be singing, when we’re winning”
-
I hope I’m cheerful later on too. You want me to take some photos of inside Fir Park for you? Seeing as you’ve probably forgotten what it looks like.
-
Same, I would take a point if offered.

It’ll either be that or the white one which we wore at home against Dundee Utd earlier this season as apparently their black/dark away kit clashed with our predominantly claret home kit. We won’t get many more opportunities to wear the luminous kit so I reckon it’ll get an outing on Saturday.
-
It’s too early to say that we won’t be relegated in it, but regardless I’m looking forward to not seeing it again after this season and hoping for a traditional, simple and classical Motherwell FC home kit to be released in the summer. Why we have to keep trying to go out the box and be ‘different’ every few years is beyond me. We should be proud of our home colours and embrace our identity with a simple home kit. Take a leaf out of Hearts book, they have their vintage maroon and white kit and they largely stick to it with only a few minor alterations each year. As for this Saturday I suspect we’ll be in our fluorescent kit against Utd.

I think our need was just as if not even greater than St.Mirren’s that day. We were 2-0 up and absolutely collapsed and only Dunfermline losing to Inverness saved us from having to go to Tannadice on the final day to win to keep us up. Us winning this Saturday would all but guarantee safety and give us a fair cushion over the danger zone, but that would just be too simple for us and we never do it the easy way.
-
I think you should design next season's home strip. At least you appear to recognise that a Motherwell home kit should be mostly amber, even if it is a mankini. Saying that any coloured mankini would be better than this year's kit so...

Have a bad feeling about this one. 0-2

On the face of it yes we probably are, or at least should be, but all it takes is a few bad results and a few good ones from our rivals and we’re dragged back into it. Utd have just scored what looks like will be a last minute winner against Hibs. If they come to us next week and win that is a huge momentum boost for them and we will be looking over our shoulders. Next Saturday might not be ‘must win’ for us but it absolutely is ‘must not lose’. Are we mathematically safe yet? No. Is it still possible for us to finish 11th or 12th? Yes. Could we lose at home against Utd next week? It’s possible, just like it’s possible that we could win, or draw. To suggest that we are “out of danger” right now is as ludicrous as saying we still have a chance of top six when we we would need to go to Celtic Park and win for that to happen.
-
Yes I did because at that time we most definitely DID look odds on for at least the playoffs and I’d guess the majority of Motherwell fans who were watching with their eyes open would have thought the same at the time. Not winning another game was a bit more of a stretch but it didn’t look out of the question in the latter stages of Hammell’s tenure. We aren’t out of danger yet either and we could have done without County winning yesterday and Utd currently beating Hibs. If that result stays the same and they come to Fir Park and beat us then we will be right back in the mix for the drop.

It wouldn’t matter who the manager was, Europe is a level way beyond our reach and we are never going to compete at there. I know it’s obviously good for the club, on paper at least but if we’re being honest Europe to us is a few glorified friendlies at the start of a season. I view it as an added bonus for (normally) a good season in the league and a 3rd/4th placed finish, or even better, winning a Cup. It is not though some kind of holy grail as alot of our fans seem to think it is and when it is achieved in the spawny, lucky manner we did it last year then it feels even less of a bonus. Did it though? I always thought that prize money for playing in European competition wasn’t handed out until the end of the campaign, so if so we won’t have seen a penny of that money yet. And to be honest I doubt we get that much that we would be able to sufficiently invest in the squad anyway. No I don’t. I didn’t even predict a defeat in this thread so your post just looks silly. Why make things up to try and prove a point?
-
Well missing out on ‘Europe’ is a blessing in disguise imo. I can’t speak for anyone else but I know I’m in no rush to see us play another European tie after our embarrassing efforts against Sligo last summer and our previous pathetic efforts against Stjarnan in 2014. Plus us sneaking into the top six and Europe last year actually hampered us going into this season because it papered over some massive cracks. After the way this season and the last year and a half have gone for the club then if we manage to avoid relegation comfortably and then perhaps finish best of the rest in the bottom six then that is good going for us.
-
Great result and I reckon we have taken another huge step to safety today. It’s a pity we couldn’t add to our tally and that KvV missed out on his hat trick as he was superb today. I reckon he’ll be away in the summer so we should appreciate him while we still can.
-
Yeah no arguments there, clear offside.
-
Excellent first half from us and yet again KvV showing his worth for us. He’s having his best game for us so far. Hopefully we don’t let up and can get more goals!
-
They are but we are unbeaten in our last eight against them though there have been several draws in that run. They have traditionally been an annoyingly hard team to beat and games tend to be tight with the odd exception. If there is a winner on Saturday I think it will be by a single goal and it won’t be easy on the eye.
-
The players for whatever reason appeared to down tools under Hammell, especially from the WC break any way. The change in effort from KvV, Spittal, Goss and even McGinn has been night and day since the change of manager. I don’t know what went on under Hammell but I think it’s safe to say he had lost the dressing room.
-
If we can get 4 points from the home double header then I reckon we will be safe for this season. Obviously 6 points from 6 would be better but it’s a tall order. Kettlewell has overseen some transformation in the last two months, from us looking more or less doomed in early February and unlikely to win another game this season to being in with a chance of being more or less safe before the split.

I would edge towards Casey as well for the captaincy, I just hope we can tie him up on a longer deal.
