  1. Interesting lineup KvV benched and Obika starts Danzaki and McKinstry on the bench No Blaney, still injured surprise, surprise Goss starts and unbelievably so does SO’D
  2. Given we haven’t won a single game this season where we haven’t scored first then absolutely, but the same could be said of any game.
  3. Ex Dundee Utd, hopefully adds something to the midfield.
  4. A defender. Is it too much to hope he’s a centre half?
  5. I think relegation was always inevitable for us as a club. When you look at other clubs that have been relegated more than once in the near forty years we’ve been a top flight club, clubs bigger than us, then it’s a quite incredible feat that we have managed to stay in the top league for so long regardless of our luck with league reconstruction and clubs not having adequate stadiums for the top flight. However I do think that far too much emphasis has been placed on our social media focus and our standing in the community over the past decade rather than the team on the park and we are now reaping the rewards of that. Yes we are not a ‘big club’ and yes we are doing the right thing by reaching out to the community, something we didn’t do enough of in the past. However that should not take the focus off of what we are, and that is a professional top flight football club and the fortunes of the team on on the park should be our number one priority as a club. I feel that over the last few years our ‘on the park’ fortunes have been shoved down the pecking order in favour of our social media standing and our desire to be a ‘pillar in the local community’. And let me be clear, I don’t think that there is anything wrong with either of those, but they take the focus away from what should be the most important thing for us as a football club…to be the best we can be on the park and give the support a team they can be proud of.
  6. And yet another fucking injury this time to Blaney. So we now have one fit CB at the club.
  7. Barring a miracle we are going down, this team has absolutely nothing.
  8. The white kit is easily the best of the three. Third game in a row we’ve not had the ‘home kit’ and we won’t be seeing it at Pittodrie on Saturday either or at Kirkcaldy. It’s a welcome break from it.
  9. Until Obika gets injured too.
  10. I know what you mean, but I still stand by Stevie Hammell. He was put in an impossible position by the board.
  11. Knowing our luck this season he probably injured himself pulling the strip on for the photoshoot of his signing and will be a doubt for tomorrow/out for a couple of weeks/might be available for the playoffs/hardly ever play yet have posters on here in about eight years time dedicating their usernames to him etc, etc
  12. I know that, but the striker is injured, the winger is so far unproven, albeit promising and we don’t really know anything about the goalscoring midfielder. We still lack, as far as I can see, a ball winning midfielder, a left back and a player who can offer something from wide or in the final third. It has been an active window but we need quality over quantity, if you pardon the cliche.
  13. If we end the window with the squad we currently have then we are as good as down in my opinion. The next five hours are going to be crucial to our survival chances this season.
  14. A year or so ago I would have taken Kyle Lafferty in a heartbeat but not now. He’s barely played at Killie this season plus he’s 35 years old and by all accounts a bit of a helmet of a guy. I wouldn’t imagine he’s on our radar anyway.
  15. Agreed. Thanks for the megaphones, sorry, memories Sol eh?
  16. I’d say it was more when he became involved with the international team that his head turned, no doubt with his agent in his ear telling him he was too good for us now that he was getting picked for Scotland.
  17. First I’ve heard that but not in the slightest bit surprised. So we’ve got yet another crock on board.
  18. Alexander is partly to blame, but those higher up in the club are more to blame. They gave him a free pass for the dreadful football and results from December ‘21 onwards and they awarded him a contract extension. Bad enough but they then allowed him to go into this season with the same squad that had fallen flat so badly in the second half of last season plus Josh Morris and then when we were shown up by Sligo in the Europa League Qualifiers ‘mutually consented’ him two days before the first league game and replaced him with the youth academy boss who was basically on a hiding to nothing from the get go. It’s been a ‘perfect storm’ for us all season.
  19. I agree, but unlike Alexander who is hugely responsible for the mess we are currently in, Steven Hammell doesn’t have the pig faced arrogance to try and tell the support that black is white and that we are playing well when we clearly aren’t. Obviously him being a club legend and much loved by the support helps Hammell’s cause too. The sad reality is though that Stevie Hammell just looks like a thoroughly decent guy who is miles out of his depth.
  20. Poor guy. It’s a hard watch seeing him repeat the same things just about every week. He has undoubtedly had bad luck with injuries but he is looking increasing out of his depth with each passing poor performance/result. It’s hard to see this ending anything other than badly.
  21. I agree that the goalkeeper being captain doesn’t sit right, but there isn’t anyone else at the club who fits the bill as a captain or leader. SO’D had the armband previously and was stripped of it so who do you give it to? For me the best option is Lamie and even that is scraping the barrel because he doesn’t show much in the way of leadership qualities.
  22. The reality is we are going down or at best heading for the playoffs with barely a whimper and it’s heartbreaking to watch.
