Another week, another ‘must win game’. We won’t win this one either. 1-1

He looks like a beaten man from that interview. On a ‘plus’ note Dundee Utd are 0-2 down so they wouldn’t go above us tonight as long as that stays the same.

This team doesn’t have it in them to go on a winning or even just unbeaten run of three/four or so matches. We will get draws here and there and we may even managed to win sometime but we will lose more than we win because we are shite. What is even more worrying imo is that the heads look as though they are starting to drop and frustration is ramping up by the week. The longer we go without a win after all the points we have chucked away of late then the confidence in tue dressing room will evaporate very quickly.

I think we’ll avoid straight relegation as I too think we will finish about Ross County but we’ll be in a battle with Killie to avoid the playoffs. Killie who we haven’t beaten yet this season and have an experienced manager in McInnes. It’s looking grim.

One win in eleven and only one home league win all season. That is unacceptable I’m afraid.

We’d be lucky to finish top six in the Championship with this shower of shite squad. Arbroath must fancy their chances of beating us in a couple of weeks time.

That’s the fine margins that make the difference when you’re in a relegation battle. Going by our form so far this season it is unlikely, but it’s do-able and it’s something that we really need to happen.

We’re definitely in trouble but we’re certainly not “favourites for the drop”. The next set of results may or may not change that but it’s very much in our hands just now and with two very winnable home games back to back then we can make things a lot easier for ourselves by winning both. Obviously that’s easier said than done given the team we have but we have a great chance of easing some of the pressure.

Exactly, it will be very difficult for us to attract players in this window, it always is in January but with a rookie manager? Even more difficult. That is why Hammell needs help from those above him at the club, both in scouting and financially. If that means pushing the boat out further than the club’s comfort zone* then I’m all for it if it is the difference between relegation and survival this season. *And by that I am not suggesting that we spend £1M + or anywhere near it before any of the “punching waaaaaaay above our weight” brigade drench their knickers.

Without doubt, I’ve long said that our recruitment is absolutely diabolical and needs to improve drastically. However signings are attributed to the manager and those two signings reflect poorly on Stevie Hammell.

Signing two injury prone players on loan and both of them end up having their loans cut short due to, surprise surprise, injuries and making little impact certainly doesn’t look for Hammell, rookie manager or not. He absolutely has to get any signings he makes this month absolutely spot on, which is a tall order.

I don’t want a 6-6 and a “great spectacle for the neutral” and an “entertaining match”. I would take an absolutely awful game as long as we win. 1-0 with a KvV penalty or an own goal will do me.

Sadly I agree with you there. I wish Louis Moult all the very best though, hopefully he can get back to playing regularly at some level.

A pity it didn’t work out but terminating the loan was the only common sense thing to do. For the love of God please let that be a lesson to us about re-signing popular ex players who have injury problems.

Perhaps but all of those were injured/had been through serious injury problems when we signed them and with the exception of Faddy for the first few months none of them made any impact for us and spent the majority of their returns out injured. We cannot afford to gamble on players we know are injured right now. I appreciate that every signing we make is a gamble but we could at least try to stack the odds in our favour by steering clear of players who have been lying on the treatment table for the past six months.
