Granted. Although it was down to us that they weren’t in it for one of those seasons after we cuffed them in the playoffs. 😁

It’s nonsense to say “who cares about these games”? as clearly the majority of the support do care and would desperately love a result against them. Obviously we are not going to compete with either of them over the course of a season, no one is as was shown when Hearts and Hibs were easily swept aside last night, but the frustration comes from the fact that other sides have managed to beat Rangers at least once in that twenty years we have failed to. I’m not talking about the Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeens, the clubs with an obvious financial advantage over us here, Hamilton fucking Accies have managed to win twice at Ibrox in the last few years ffs! Ross County have knocked Celtic out of both cups on three occasions in the last twelve years, St.Mirren managed by Robinson and half our ex team beat Celtic this season, something they never achieved when with us. Obviously these are ‘one offs’ and the exception to the rule but the question has to be why do we never manage to pull off these ‘one off’ results now and again? We need to stop simply writing these games off beforehand and at least show a bit of belief that we can get something, but the mentality of us just shrugging it off and accepting our fate seems deeply engrained in the club nowadays.

That was 26 years ago. We haven’t recorded a league victory against Rangers in over 20 years. We haven’t beaten Celtic in over seven years and have lost our last straight fifteen matches against them. Those are facts, however dreary or negative they may be. And why do I bother? I guess because I’m a passionate Motherwell FC supporter who supports the team and the club through thick and thin, even when we are turning in our usual no shows against the Old Firm.
-
No. Motherwell do not beat Rangers, or Celtic for that matter. We might scrape a draw but even that’s unlikely.
-
I fucking hate Aberdeen with a passion but glad they beat Dundee Utd this evening. #alanburrowssheepshaggingarmy

Each to their own, but I hope that Alan Burrows has a winning start to his tenure as Aberdeen chief. For our sake of course, not for his or his new club’s.
-
Aye absolutely, our priority is getting safe from relegation. We spawny-ied a top six finish last season and it ultimately hampered us going into this one. Let’s not try and run before we can walk.
-
This is the key factor. We are unbeaten in four because we have stopped giving away so many cheap and avoidable goals. Having two competent defenders really does make a difference.
-
Thank goodness indeed. That is a superb result and yet again KvV shows that he is our most important player.
-
Give him service and he’ll score goals for us. KvV is a proper No.9
-
Great ball and great header. Get in!!
-
I’d take a point here to be honest, we’re just not at it.
-
That’s one of those occasions when you are glad to have VAR. Never a penalty in the first place.

Frail is the type of experienced assistant that Hammell really should have had. He’ll bring a whole load of experience and knowledge to the coaching team.
-
An ex-Ranger now an ex-Jambo on the coaching staff… But on a serious note, welcome to the club Stephen Frail. Our next manager perhaps?
-
It was a joke. I appreciate that not everyone has my levels of good humour though and maybe I should have included laughing or smiling emojis.
-
Not happy with this appointment because he used to play for Rangers and us getting people in who are tarnished by their association to that vile institution does nothing for the image of our great wee community club.
-
I don’t see us getting anything on Saturday either. We’re due a defeat and they are playing well. 3-1 home win.
-
Still burst I’d say. That was a pretty dismal performance today but a moment of magic at the end saved us.
-
Poor performance all around, let’s not kid ourselves. But a point gained in that manner could make all the difference come the end of the season.
-
That was sensational! What a fucking strike.
-
And there it is. Bubble status: Burst

Anything is better than listening to that pompous, pseudo intellectual prick Michael Stewart on Sportscene. Him and his ‘biometrics’ and ‘nuances’ would make Gaelic commentary much more listenable.

I’ll reserve judgement until the end of the season. He wasn’t my preferred choice but he’s got it so gets my backing and now more than ever the support need to back the team and the manager which I’m sure the majority will. We’ve had two great wins back to back which looked unlikely to say the least after the shambles that had been the last couple of months. The Hearts result in particular was superb. However we usually do manage to beat Hearts at home at least once a season, indeed we have managed it in each of the last five seasons that both clubs have been in the top flight, so perhaps don’t read too much into last Sunday. It was similar, imo, to us winning at Pittodrie in August in Hammell’s first official game in charge. As with Hearts, we have managed to get at least one win over Aberdeen a season going back to 2017/18 and when we beat them 3-2 up there this season it looked like we had turned a corner and were on the right track. The next two games are bigger games than the previous two, we need minimum four points to indicate that we are in a revival.
