Perhaps but all of those were injured/had been through serious injury problems when we signed them and with the exception of Faddy for the first few months none of them made any impact for us and spent the majority of their returns out injured. We cannot afford to gamble on players we know are injured right now. I appreciate that every signing we make is a gamble but we could at least try to stack the odds in our favour by steering clear of players who have been lying on the treatment table for the past six months.

“If Faddy is fit, not the worst move.” ”If McCormack is fit, not the worst move.” ”If Moult is fit, not the worst move.” ”If Aarons is fit, not the worst move”. If we bring in yet another ex player who has spent the best part of the last year out injured then we will officially become a full blown parody of ourselves.

Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to see James Scott back this month, injury or not. 🙄 A nice wee video for social media of him gazing at the empty swing park in the Duchess Park as his hair blows in the wind to welcome him back….then in the next pre-match press conference SH will tell us that he’s just trying to shake off a wee niggle and he’s hopeful he’ll be available before the end of the season.

Bring him home….😐

I think our game is a nailed on draw. Two poor teams, both struggling, both managers under the cosh. Can’t see past a 1-1 shitfest. I wouldn’t count on Rangers winning at Tannadice either as Utd have an excellent record against them especially up there and took four points from Rangers two visits there last season. We may well be either joint bottom or just one point off it come Sunday evening.

That’s how it appeared. Again, do you know different? And so what? We also had van Veen who along with Watt contributed by scoring six goals in the same period last season. Losing him last January was a big reason why the arse fell out of our season and we haven’t come close to replacing him since. This season we have really only had one forward - KvV - worthy of the name at the club and that’s why we struggle to score goals and thus win games.

The only ‘stupid’ thing about Alexander’s departure was the timing of it, he should have been gone in May. And it obviously would have been added to had Alexander not departed? Really? Perhaps you know something I and others don’t but Alexander seemed happy enough with what he had over the summer. We might have got another Vauxhall conference league dud that had previously worked with Alexander in before the end of the window I suppose. And your last point, I’ve said this before, we had Tony Watt for the first half of last season who’s goals won us at least ten points in the first half of the campaign, we didn’t have him in the same period this year so your comparison is pointless. If we were to sign a player who can get us similar during this window then I’m confident we’ll survive relegation this season. edit: Fifteen points Watt won for us between August and December ‘21. We weren’t playing particularly well then either but when you have a player who can get you goals you can win points. It’s no coincidence whatsoever that our form nosedived as soon as he left last season and we and and GA were found out.

The support were scunnered with Alexander's management of the team, the dreadful performances and poor form which culminated in one of our most humiliating results in our history. You'd be hard pushed to find any support of any top flight club that would have reacted any differently. And this is the team that Alexander was largely responsible for building and deemed acceptable to go into this season with the additions of Josh Morris, Paul McGinn and Blair Spittal so it's understandable that he gets some of the blame for what's happened this season.

I agree with what David says above about changing the manager now being chaotic. Like it or not I think we need to stick with Hammell and back him this month in the transfer window and hope for the best really because that's all we can do. The manager situation over the summer and at the beginning of the season was absolutely shambolic as Alexander was never getting sacked in May having delivered Europe, but it was painfully obvious we were only heading one way. It did nothing but paper over huge cracks and he and we were found out big time with the Sligo games. The seeds for all of this chaos and the situation we now find ourselves in were planted at the very same ground we played at today back last April. Had we lost that day Alexander goes in the summer and our entire approach to this season would be completely different.
-
Only the fact that he is a club legend and so popular with the support is what is keeping the ‘boo-boys’ off Stevie Hammell’s back right now. If Alexander was still in charge he would get far less leeway. Of course this mess is not in any way all down to SH but he has a big, big month ahead of him and things need to improve because this has all the hallmarks of a team heading for relegation. The fine margins are what is going to cost us come the summer. We should have beaten Dundee Utd at home, only got a draw. We should have taken at least a point from Hearts at Tynecastle but lost, should have beaten Killie at home, threw 2 pts away. Should have beaten Livingston today, only drew. Our inability to defend at one end and/or score goals at the other has played a part in all of those results going against us and things need to start picking up asap.
-
He’s got to score that, no defending a miss like that. That said he is still by far and away our best and only serious goal threat and if we lose him for any period to injury then we might as well start looking forward to Friday night games on BBC Scotland next season.
-
Well the plus point is we didn’t get beat but we should have won that imo and other results now see us joint second bottom. Next Sunday against Hibs is now must win, no ifs and not buts, it’s must win.
-
He’s priceless for us is KvV because he’s the only one we can rely on to score goals and there is is yet again.
-
Just basic, basic stuff every single week.
-
Kelly saves again!!!
-
FFS. Absolutely nothing going for us just now.
-
This has all the makings of a hard slog and an utter shitfest but if we are to avoid relegation then games like these are the types we need to win or at the very least not lose.
-
KvV back in from the start, Shields starts again.
-
Yeah to be honest I’m not saying that we should sign Leigh Griffiths now, more that if there was a situation where he was fit enough to play and available to us then his off-field baggage shouldn’t be a deal breaker to us as a club.
-
Considering we as a club have made a big effort to show support for mental health awareness up to and including bringing out a new strip especially dedicated to helping charities which support it, then giving a chance to a player who has had his own ‘demons’ perhaps should see him fit into our image.
-
He wouldn’t have offered us any less than Moult has.
-
Max Johnston back after being recalled from his loan. Glad to hear it.
-
Happy New Year to ‘Well fans everywhere.
-
That and having played for us previously.

Everyone will have their own view on this based on age/when they started supporting the club. For me in my time it’s Tommy Coyne. A brilliant forward and an absolute class act of a player and we’ve never had anyone like that since.
