The difference is I’ve generally referred to a collective group of posters of a similar viewpoint as sanctimonious pricks, and not targeted anyone individually unless specifically provoked by them. Whereas, I am consistently and directly called a pant wetter etc by the same few posters for expressing a view they don’t like, which is fine, but it’s not overly constructive and is just annoying, so I call it out. But that’s a football forum. Most of us deal with it, give as good as we get, and move on to the next game. Now, since you’ve asked me specifically, if you want to talk about the difference, let’s not forget that it’s you who often gets personal by sending unsolicited direct messages to folk on this forum harassing them because you disagree, harbour a grudge, or have a personal grievance. I thought you would take my lack of response to your posts and direct messages to me as a hint to stop engaging directly with me, but here we are. However, I won’t tell you or anyone how to act or what to publicly post or direct message to others, but some self-policing (including by me at times) before reaching for the keyboard would be wise. You’re also free to ignore me and others.

Here's our run of games across August and September: Ross County (H) Rangers (A) Killie (H; League Cup) Hearts (H) St Johnstone (A) International Break Aberdeen (A) Lease Cup QF St Mirren (H) If we lose to County in the opener, it could be a long couple of months for Kettlewell as he panic signs 3 more wingbacks and 3 more central midfielders at the end of August and gets a red card at the end of September for telling Stephen Robinson to fuck off. Or, he signs Stama this week, which sees the Aussie score 10 goals in 2 months at the same time as we concede 20 through Blaney and Casey, which inspires Jim McMahon to secretly give Kettlewell a 4-year contract extension as his parting gift to the fans.
-
It’s only daft to have said what I said if you subscribe to the view that Kettlewell knows what he’s doing.
-
He should’ve been gone following the dreadful run in the first half of last season, but he’s not and we’re stuck with him. It’s the same shit, different season, but maybe some of his biggest fans may finally start to realise that this season.
-
Because the league campaign starts in six days. There’s no need to be patronising.
-
Kettlewell is utterly clueless and will be made to look even more of a clown once the league games start. The only highlights from today were Miller and Wells. Special mention to Oxborough for doing a good job of commanding his box too.
-
Aye, minus a couple of players, I think today will likely reflect Kettlewell’s main plan for approaching this season. Balmer has to start. My ideal defence comprises McGinn, Balmer and Gordon, although I’m aware that could change as the season progresses with Blaney and Casey at their heels. However, I don’t think we’ll see a full 90 from McGinn today, so I expect Casey or Blaney to play today as well. It’s also time to give the other wingbacks a chance today from the bench. I’m really looking forward to the game today, or maybe I’ve just had enough coffee to cloud my better judgement.

It is dicey. However, I can only hope his partner and baby are also on their way here, soon.
-
All this ‘knickers in a twist’ and ‘pant wetters’ chat is a right laugh, isn’t it?! Very constructive engagement.
-
According to Kettlewell, Stama's deal is subject to a medical, which should be happening soon.

Whichever way you look at it, it's not good enough, and it should be simple. Putting Bair's goals aside in the second half of the season, Spittal was our most important player across the season, and he shouldn't be replaced with a loanee or a Nicholson or a Sparrow. Given Kettlewell knew Spittal was going a long time ago, and knowing that he was key to making Ketllewell's system work, a replacement should've been a top priority a long time ago. Instead, he's fudged a now injured Paton into the role, hoped that Nicholson would remain injury free, and now we're very short in that department, and likely relying on a loanee or dropping a striker/attacker into that role. He'll be judged on this once/if his system fails.
-
Yeh, he’s predominantly played as a ‘central’ midfielder, but I’d like to think that we’ll be able to help him find his most effective position over the next 2 years.
-
This is such a tired statement. Competitive action began weeks ago and we knew Spittal was away months ago. We should not be waiting to the last possible minute to sign players in key positions and we should be treating League Cup games with the utmost respect. Domestic cups are our only real chances of success each season and starting the league campaign strong is important.
-
It's a shame for Paton. He works hard for the team when he plays and there is a definitely a place in the squad for players like him, but he's never an attacking creative midfielder in a million years. With Nicholson and Callachan made of chocolate, and Slattery and Paton out til the November at the earliest, are we now solely relying on 16-year-old Wells to be our creative spark in the advanced midfield role? I've said it before and I'll say it again, not properly replacing Spittal is going to hurt us.
-
Paton's pre-season is over already, and other injury updates: https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2024/07/26/harry-paton-surgery/ Have we signed an attacking creative midfielder yet?!
-
The difference between last year and this year is that we’ve had a lot of our recruitment done early this year, meaning we should be absolutely strolling through our group with no excuses. All we need to do is beat Thistle, then there should be no real complaints from us.
-
Dunachie being deployed as a centre forward for Clyde.
-
Six out injured for this game (Paton, Callachan, Nicholson, Sparrow, Slattery, Koutroumbis), of which five are midfielders. Has Spittal been replaced yet? No.
-
I don’t wish them any harm either, I was making a joke of their bold but misguided natures. However, it remains that those involved from the Club (McMahon, Dickie and Feely) have to be removed via the proper channels. This proposed removal isn’t retribution or revenge or whatever, it is the proper course of action to take following their actions which have made their positions untenable. They have done this to themselves by creating the negative distraction, and it would be improper of any business to retain such individuals who have sought to undermine said business in the way they have.
-
The morning after the night that never was. I wonder how Jim and Erik are feeling now that they’ve exhausted the world’s supply of Brasso.
-
Yeah. This is how I see it. Or he could be shite and feed my negativity.

New Aussie striker incoming. Where's @SteelmaninOZ when you need him?
