  1. Tierney is on the players under contract list, which I think runs until the end of next season. Obika’s absence from any of the lists remains a mystery, perhaps because he's triggered an extension and the club are too embarrassed to admit yet another fuck up. Although the MFC website is about as accurate as a drunk man aiming his piss into the bog, I think Miller is the only player with a contract beyond 2025.
  2. If seeking to retain the majority of a defence that's only kept three clean sheets all season is his idea of improvement, we’re doomed.
  3. Except for those with an existing contract, loans ending, and Kelly, the Club has offered that entire failed defence new deals. I wouldn't call that intriguing, surprising, uninspiring, etc., I’d call that idiotic. Other than that, I’m pleased to see Slattery offered a deal and a little bemused by the Oxborough deal. The less said about the wages the Club will be wasting on Halliday, the better.
  4. So what you're saying is that Daws and Caldwell are also fucking idiots for watching the likes of Mugabi and Butcher this season and thinking that their performances merited a new contract.
  5. Kettlewell is a fucking idiot. He's clearly not learned anything from this past season.
  6. https://www.instagram.com/p/C7USCl1tpav/ It looks like it.
  7. And who's fault is that? Kettlewell. He’s had more than one chance to address the central defence but chose to sign umpteen wingbacks instead.
  8. Barmack is watching, according to his article: https://theankler.com/p/how-i-used-ai-to-brainstorm-a-show “As a sidenote, this idea has come because my family is considering an investment in a Scottish Football Club, Motherwell. Whether this is a sound business decision is a matter discussed with my wife between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. But here we are now, later in the night, and I’m oscillating between surfing through message boards on the “Steelmen” (Motherwell’s nickname) and thinking that some buyer would be interested in a dramedy set in the world of something like the Scottish Premiership, while using the voices of famous football players (and yes, the actual voices of Mbappe and Vinicius Jr., and not AI-generated clones of players that clubs like Motherwell could never have).”
  9. Caldwell described the investment from Erik Barmack as a 'takeover'. Freudian slip? The investment update starts at 6:48.
  10. "More than a squad worth of offers have been made so far"
  11. Take the Turnbull chat to the correct thread, and let's discuss the return of Campbell here.
  12. Unless Clark, Gunn or Gordon are kidnapped, Kelly will be dropped. I'm disappointed that Johnston didn't at least make the provisional squad, but it was obvious that Clarke would choose Ralston and McCrorie ahead of him. It's a shame about Turnbull, who's done nothing since joining Cardiff.
  13. Not impossible given that we found ourselves in a diminishing returns scenario with Kelly this season.
  14. It's unquestioned that the defence has been shit this season and that Kelly has had great spells for us over his several seasons. However, it's complete denial to suggest that he's not been poor at times and that he's not had a part to play in only keeping three clean sheets this season. I don't care who he gets offers from or how much he's paid; all I am saying is that his record this season is shit.
  15. 3 clean sheets in 38 games.
  16. Let's hope that the next cancelled PCA will read Andy Halliday.
  17. Transparency and democracy are key. There's too much speculation at the moment.
  18. Just kidding 😉
  19. Not putting a proposal to a vote would be a surefire way for the WS to lose the goodwill and support of paying members. Democracy is key.
  20. I mostly agree, but only as Casey hasn't had the best season. He's a solid SPL player and carries a goal threat, so I hope having a proper pre-season this time will help him. I don't see us releasing all 4 of those you suggest. Halliday already has a 1-year deal, unfortunately, and I can see Kettlewell wanting SOD and McGinn. Slattery, however, may well want something different as he recovers. Spencer proved he was good enough for us and more, no thanks to Kettlewell. Whilst not a world-beater, Davor did have a hand in our changed fortunes. He's a decent squad player. I think Vale could go on to have a decent career, but probably not at the English Championship level.
  21. Remove the 'oxy' and you've just about nailed it.
  22. This thread should be re-titled: ‘Irascible happy-clappers vs doom-mongers’
  23. A few others could considered: Spencer - gone; positive outlet once Kettlewelll realised he wasn't a LWB. Davor - under contract; tightened up the DM position, allowing Miller to flourish. Vale - end of loan; introduced tenacity up front until Kettlewell nullified his threat by dropping him too deep.
  24. This a rounded and sensible post calling it exactly what it is.
  25. Wonder no more, as engaging critically with a hobby brings me plenty of positive satisfaction, and I’ll continue to do so, which will continue to piss off those who are unable to remove their rose-tinted specs and who love to try to belittle those with anything other than positive spins on reality.
