We know that he'll respond by starting with a similar line-up and system because he's a stubborn donkey who continually rides his luck.

Two spot on analyses. Poor recruitment and amateur tactics remain the issues, although, for what it’s worth, I don’t think we’ll see another 15 game winless run this season. We have improved, slightly.
-
It appears we likely missed our captain driving and organising us today.
-
It seems like the outcome of not signing a proper replacement for Spittal other than a few chocolate-legged jobbers is still causing us bother. Let’s see what the wingers can do now.

His next job will be with whatever club that wee rodent Si Ferry is at.

Motherwell v Rangers League Cup Semi final Nov 2/3

It’s probably a fair point to suggest that those WS members with a monthly direct debit are also season ticket holders. A real challenge for the WS is how it (re)engages those members who no longer financially contribute but regularly attend games. EDIT. I forgot to add that there are plenty of WS members who financially contribute but, for whatever reason, don’t have a season ticket or regularly attend. -
Footballer kicks football. Superb observation.

Aye, but the 3rd/4th choice backline gives me the fear. Let's hope Gordon stays fit.
-
Yep, this could be decent going forward, but if one of them gets injured, then what?
-
That’s McGinn out for the foreseeable. I ask again, what the fuck are we doing in training to lead to this amount of soft tissue injuries?! https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2024/10/17/paul-mcginn-to-spend-time-on-sidelines/

True, but you have to wonder if Watt is fit enough to start yet since he’s taken on the Farmer Boggis persona.
-
Casey for Balmer, as Kettlewell isn’t going to drop him just yet. It would be a shame for Balmer but it’s a good problem to have. And Robinson for Moses, as he may be able to upset his former team. Moses is also a great impact sub.

Getting further stability in the GK department is great news. I’m delighted for Ox as his patience has paid off for him and the team.
-
I didn’t make the game yesterday, but it’s pleasing to hear about the individual performances and the manner in which we won. Maybe, just maybe, Kettlewell’s policy of signing 400 players is paying off at the moment.
-
I also don’t think it’ll happen in the lifetime of Caldwell, and therein lies a problem. However, and more realistically, I think a 20-year strategic plan with an options appraisal needs to be produced, and that would be outwith his day-to-day remit.
-
There’s more chance of him starting against Crocodile Dundee after than run of fixtures.

Are we going to get back to discussing the pros/cons/barriers to a potential move or redevelopment or what? This is a football forum, not Dear Deidre.

That's a nice 'get it up ye, Dickie'.

Heavy industry 🤝 Fitba stadiums I can see you drawing up your concept designs for the following: The Ravenscraig Excelsior Bamrack Park The JDs (Steelworks) Stadium Bob Park Park The Riku Danzakibowl Lunchtime is over. I should get back to work.

You're right about the potential havoc - although most significant developments piss people and organisations off - but these issues aren't insurmountable if the proposal is properly consulted on and the right application for planning permission submitted. In simple planning terms, any application of this type would be one that is considered in the context of local physical and visual impacts vs economic and community benefits. The benefits of the latter would have to materially outweigh the disbenefits of the former. I'm a planner. If the Club or WS want any guidance on this, they can have my time in return for a couple of free match day pints and pies. I've also just read Stephen's document on P&B. Hats off to him for taking the time to put it together.
-
Clarke hasn't selected certain players not because he wants the U21s to benefit, but because he is a fucking idiot.
-
Replacing the east and main stands would be my preference and this is an excellent mock-up. My only point would be that we don't own the land to the south of the main stand, so any replacement would have to be another part-width stand. See the planning boundary here: https://eplanning.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=map&keyVal=9901102FUL

I see Douglas Dickie has fired some shots at The Well Society, noting that his position has become untenable due to him being unwilling to interview for his position on the Executive Board. It’s also interesting to note that he made not one mention of his recommendation to sell the Club to the lowest bidder in his detailed resignation statement. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2024/10/01/douglas-dickie-resigns-as-vice-chairman-and-director/

Scottish refs are and forever will be useless. Collum will talk a good game this season in terms of accountability, but VAR will only continue to expose how useless our officials are, and his apologies won’t materially change anything.

Tanser is a prick. He targeted SOD twice yesterday and got his just reward.
