  1. I think you should just join the Foundation of Hearts. Dunno. I also don't know what their favourite foods are.
  2. Which part of the Well Society Board is producing a forthcoming business plan do you not understand? Give them a chance; the majority of the new board members are just in the door and have been fighting against the intransigence of the Executive Board and three of their own members for most of that time. Maybe it's worth keeping your powder dry until you see the output of the job they're currently undertaking. Just a thought.
  3. I imagine it’s difficult for the Well Society Board to respond comprehensively to your satisfaction, when the Executive Board keep moving the goalposts, excluding them from important discussions, railroading them into a vote, and at the same time having had 3 of their board members turn on them. With that in mind, I’d maybe give the Well Society Board a bit of a break and support them in their endeavours to produce their promised business plan, because at the moment all the Executive Board have engaged is an investor with zero business plan and all the buzzwords.
  4. My point is that if there is to be a deal negotiated in the current context of a departing chairman and compromised board members, it should be struck between the investor (e.g. Barmack or An Other) and the owner (the Well Society), not the Executive Board. However, as I've said throughout, the proposed (and amended) deal with Barmack can get in the bin, as the terms are appalling, hence the recent tweaks, which are still shite. If Barmack disagrees with the Well Society's position and forges ahead under the steam of the Executive Board, we go to a vote, which he will either (a) lose or (b) achieve a pyrrhic victory. Neither is a good outcome for him. In short, he should take his meagre investment and delusional aspirations elsewhere. His cash offer is insignificant. But, if it is appealing to Barmack to achieve a deal that works for all parties, with some fair and reasonable concessions from all sides, he's welcome to reopen negotiations with the Well Society, as they noted in their short response last night.
  5. I don't think the Executive Board only discovered what fan ownership meant two days ago, as their second statement suggests; they know what it means and thought they were smart enough to pull the wool over our eyes but failed. Their behaviour throughout this debacle should render their positions untenable, particularly their involvement in future negotiations. I agree with steelboy that the whole thing should be halted, hopefully following sound legal advice, and that Barmack should start again, but directly with the Well Society and its red lines.
  6. I should've stayed at the Euros where the Alt Bier and Kolsch rendered me blissfully incapable of keeping up-to-date with this nonsense all week. That said, the amended proposal can also get in the bin alongside the previous appalling draft. As can the Executive Board. Their collective bluster and incompetence know no bounds.
  7. Oh, I don't doubt that they are conniving and conspiring to control the narrative and agenda, which does take some brains, but they also must be thick if they think they can pull the wool over our eyes in this instance. The bowling club comment isn't particularly in reference to their talent, as I’m sure many bowling club board members are excellent at running bowling clubs, it's more about McMahon et al’s ability to run a football club properly for the benefit of the football club and its community/fans.
  8. A lot of folks were given a hard time on the fan forums recently for referring to the Executive Board as being akin to that of a bowling club due to the inability to appoint a CEO in good time or communicate the fact that the manager got a contract extension, for example. It turns out the bowling club comparison wasn't far wrong.
  9. The chat on P&B is getting better. Vietnam91 has shared direct messages between him and Barmack over the past few months. Eye-opening. It's like a live soap opera unfolding before our eyes.
  10. I had missed this initially, so thanks for illuminating, and I hope those able to can properly alert the WS and probe the Club on this, as that small detail makes the offer even more atrocious than I'd first thought.
  11. Well done, Theo. How much does going to Copa America earn us?
  12. Abysmal last night, and Kelly likely would've saved a couple of those shots. Onwards to Cologne for me on Wednesday now.
  13. https://x.com/record_sport/status/1801545187589571020?s=46&t=wehikD-exiutCByWu64YEQ John Koutroumbis nears Motherwell deal Motherwell are set to announce John Koutroumbis as their latest summer signing, writes Scott Burns. The Steelmen have agreed a deal to sign the right-back, after his recent departure from Perth Glory. The 26-year-old right back will become Stuart Kettlewell’s third signing. Kettlewell has already signed centre half Kofi Balmer from Crystal Palace and midfielder Tom Sparrow from Stoke City. Koutroumbis is primarily a full-back but can also play as a central defender or holding midfielder. The former Australian under-21 cap has plenty of A-League experience with Newcastle Jets, Western Sydney Wanderers and then Glory. Koutroumbis previously fought back from a cancer scare when he was at Jets. Motherwell are also set to sign Serbian striker Filip Stuparevic from Slovenian side Domzale on freedom of contract.
  14. Even if they were, I'd imagine they are toeing the line here, particularly given they've both recently been appointed to their new posts by the Executive Board/McMahon, so I'll try not to point the finger at Caldwell and Lindsay too much right now. The three on the Well Society Board who voted in favour of the deal on that valuation are another story.
  15. That they have to do this immediately after their press release and recommendation exposes how ridiculous their current position is.
  16. I think that Society Board members will be watching the sensible and technical posts on here and P&B and will likely lift from those to clarify key points for members, if necessary.
  17. As Steelboy notes, this situation will test the IQ of the average fan, and that's what concerns me.
  18. If fans (and Society members) vote this through and collectively boot themselves in the bollocks, my direct debit will be cancelled, and I imagine that of many others. The deal will kill the Well Society, not only in the long-term but in the short term because its revenue will be reduced and it'll be unable to continue being a co-investor as Barmack proposes. This is a key question, as you note, but I doubt the Executive Board considered this because it's clear they want rid of the Society.
  19. The deal is shite. Even if the tweaks Barmack proposes to make (according to his comments on P&B) relate to him dropping his percentage from 49% to 46% to leave the Well Society with 49%, it's still shite. The Society has 71% and is the majority owner, so it's high time the Executive Board realised this and that any prospective investor took this seriously. Barmack is chasing a bargain because McMahon has falsely presented the Club/Society as skint and its fans/members members as compliant. Let's get real here; any Executive Board with one brain cell between them wouldn't have let that offer, on those terms, come this far, let alone recommend accepting it. They've wasted Barmack's time and pissed off the Society and fanbase.
  20. It looks like a bit of a punt on paper, but he was out of contract, likely won't be expensive, signed on a 2-year (+1 option) deal, and is young enough to potentially develop further to be good for us in terms of performance and sell-on potential. If not, it'll probably not have been an expensive punt, and he'll fill the Maguire-shaped hole in the squad for a couple of seasons.
  21. A lot of tits on this forum lately.
  22. Tom Sparrow is a young lad who's spent most of his career playing as a central midfielder in the under's teams (and on loan at Accies). This move represents his first big step up the ranks, so it should be quite an exciting time for him and us, as he has it all to prove, although there should be no expectations yet. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-sparrow/profil/spieler/621365
  23. The Exec Board have wasted the Barmack’s time.
  24. As I wrote yesterday, it appears that McMahon et al gaslit the Barmack’s into believing their offer was acceptable, which has led them to waste their time. Erik’s now realising that, as his commendable yet futile dialogue on P&B demonstrates.
