It may be broken, but that farce tonight was on the manager. However, that doesn't mean that the club doesn't need a complete overhaul.
-
No doubt the Board will promote from within again and we'll be in the same position again next year.
-
The Board made the same mistake with Alexander.
-
No, we won't. We're now 9th and four points off the bottom, and the three teams below us have a combined seven games in hand. We are plummeting.
-
Then we'll continue to sleepwalk into the Championship.
-
The writing has been on the wall for weeks - as several of us have noted here - but those in control of the club are useless and have been for some time.
-
In all seriousness, whoever gets the job next must be experienced but willing to take it on a 6-month basis, with the potential of an extra year if they save us from relegation.
-
Tick tock.
-
Yep, broke. Get him to fuck.
-
Not sure what to make of that lineup considering it only has two midfielders and it was the midfield that got overrun at the weekend, but it seems like Kettlewell is perhaps going for broke tonight.

That's not my point and you know it. We need to focus on getting results against those around us, such as RC, St J, and Livi, instead of hoping that they don't start winning games against others. It's simple; we can only affect the former and cannot control the latter. And if we start to win again, which we need to start doing again ASAP, we may just consolidate ourselves as an 8/9th place team this season, regardless of those around us and how they perform in other games.
-
If we can't beat the teams below/around us - with most of them having games in hand - then we won't be 8th for long. Furthermore, if we can't pick up more than the odd draw against our direct rivals in the bottom end, we'll quickly find ourselves fighting with Livingston for the position of the shittest. Scraping draws at best against some of our direct rivals suggest that we will likely continue to lose against all of the top 5/6 on this current run of form. So, I still do not think a draw against Ross County tonight, given the context and run of results outlined, would be acceptable. Put simply, if we can't start picking up 3 points instead of gutsy draws against those listed below, we will quickly plummet beyond shitfesting our way to 10th (to note that Aberdeen will have three games in hand after tonight) and deserve relegation. We need 3 points now, and to suggest otherwise is denying the reality of the situation and merely kicking the can down the road towards the inevitable. For context and with recent results: Ross County (3-3), Aberdeen (2-4 loss), St. Jonhstone (2-2), and Livingston (2-0 loss) are below us. Kilmarnock (1-0 loss) and Dundee (3-3) are above us.

We're getting to the stage where anything less than a win will be unacceptable, as a draw tomorrow would be five draws and zero wins in 12 games or 5 points out of 36. That is relegation material.

Is anyone else getting bored with these pre-match interviews in which he continually states the obvious and, worryingly, never seems to express one bit of genuine anger about the 11 games without a win? It feels like he's going through the motions and padding them out with his usual word soup, which doesn't exactly fill me with the confidence that he's got the passionate fire in his belly needed to get him out of the mess he's created. And before someone says that the players have to shoulder some of the blame, I'll say this: yes, they do, but the buck stops with the manager, always. I think he'd be doing himself a favour if he was a bit more honest about things and showed a hint of genuine anger and passion.

If only we still had Mark O’Hara.
-
I agree with you on this. Butcher was rotten on Saturday and we badly miss Miller. So, if Davor still isn't good enough to occupy the very position we desperately need to fill, then why the fuck was he signed? I suppose I could ask the same question of several of Kettlewell’s signings.
-
Correct.
-
Scoring 5 means we’ll likely concede 5 or 6.

VAR is re-refereeing games now, which isn't what it was implemented to do, so it's becoming more and more of a hindrance than a help. I'd keep it for offsides but bin it for the rest. I genuinely think fans will stop going to games, particularly those of an older vintage, as the joy of the game has been ruined and it's becoming toxic. And it's going to get worse the more the VARs are allowed to intervene with impunity.

Too much cough mixture. Four goals in seventeen appearances does not make him a good striker at this level. We need another striker capable of producing at least double that return instead of persisting with the likes of Shaw, Bair and Wilkinson. I leave Obika out of that, as he is head and shoulders above those three in terms of his ability and support play. Does Biereth have a twin?!

The weather forecast looks dry and misty, except maybe a little freezing. So, unless Mr Roy Fossil Fuel MacGregor forgets to put some money in the meter, I assume their undersoil heating will be turned on.

Tick tock.

That today was utter dogshite. All the draw does is paper over the cracks and delay the inevitable.
-
I think there is a balance to be struck that requires a significant reliance on and investment in development, which also costs and has both risk and reward. Or we continue as is.

We maybe wouldn't have to start anew every season if we had a bit more going on behind the scenes in terms of long-term planning, such as what David has been writing essays on here.
