That’s Vale returned to Blackburn for 10-12 weeks to recuperate from an injury. Our long term injury list surely still can’t be down to just bad luck the longer this list grows. Questions have to start being asked of our recruitment, medical, fitness and training policies.

Fantastic night to be a Well fan. They don’t come around often, but nights like that are what keep many of us chasing a dream.
-
Hats off to the Well Society, and Caldwell, for pounding the streets this week. More of this please.
-
The bookies have us as slight favourites at 6/5, so that'll also be my prediction, with Moses to come off the bench on 80 mins and score all 6.
-
Say what you like about the manager, but also perhaps consider that the lack of a pay at the gate option, the current CEO locking out kids, and a former police officer making it incredibly difficult and hostile for fan groups to attend without persecution have something to do with our fanbase stagnating.
-
It’s to be expected when the manager serves up crap, the CEO locks out kids, and the stadium facilities manager does his best to vilify fans.
-
It’s a shame Kettlewell isn’t as good at scoring points as some of us are on this forum.
-
Probably the same people who think zero wins in 15 games is a marker for managerial success.
-
7 weeks here. Enjoy the madness.
-
Correct. This fact gets in the way of the arguments put forward by some of the Kettlewell apologists. Enjoy your hiatus. I assume fatherhood has also arrived for you.
-
If you think I’ve nothing more recent to cast up, then you haven’t been reading my posts. The guy isn’t a good manager and we’ll not move forward under him. Him surviving that run of zero wins in 15 means the bar has been set very low for him, and that’s likely why a few victories have triggered a contract renewal.
-
15 games. Zero wins.
-
His tactical ineptitude has been exposed on numerous occasions during his tenure and I am yet to see him progress/develop in any way as a manager with us.
-
Yes, but as usual, Kettlewell is always the last to realise a good idea.
-
The option to rotate Tavares with Maswanhise should be to our benefit. And I very much agree with starting Moses supported by Vale.
-
If Kettlewell does continue to do so, which is ridiculous given the other options we now have, he’s single-handedly doing his best to stifle Miller’s development in his best position and potentially impact his financial value to the club. It’s nothing other than idiotic, but I bet he thinks he’s being clever in continuing to try this crap.
-
Would you have preferred if I suggested that Vale should play in the space created by Moses?!
-
Tavares for Robinson would be my choice. The latter has done nothing to keep his place and the former deserves a chance to impress on the wing from the start. I’d also put Vale into the hole just behind Moses.
-
Kettlewell’s blind loyalty to certain players like Robinson and playing Miller out of position for most of the game again is what cost us today. More worryingly he’s signed a shit load of players and I’m still not really sure what his approach and style is yet, other than to throw the kitchen sink at it once we’re losing. Changes in starting personnel and approach are required for Friday night or another cup exit beckons.

I said above that the club didn’t do its due diligence, so I wasn’t solely pinning it on Kettlewell.
-
Given both their form and ours, a draw would probably be a fair result for us, although a win against them at Pittodrie isn’t beyond us.
-
I see Kettlewell has more or less admitted that the club didn’t do its due diligence in signing the Aussie boys, which means we’re now basically paying to nurse a couple of crocks for a while. Here was me thinking we learned the lesson of the Danzaki debacle, but clearly not. It seems to be that the majority of the A-League guys available to us don’t seem to be up to it for our league when they arrive. Time will tell on these two, but it’s been an expensive few mistakes so far.

I repeat. Look at how the Spanish international team isn’t afraid to blood their youngsters in the A-team, let alone the U21s. The Scottish national team has a long way to go, but it’ll continue to go backwards under the current regime. Miller not getting any minutes is genuinely ridiculous from Gemmill. Ask any fan of Scottish football and they’ll likely echo that view.
