As I wrote previously, I, unfortunately, believe that Kettlewell signed his death warrant when he signed a striker known for their inability to score goals and sought to justify that bit of business by saying that he's hanging his hat on this project. We needed a goalscorer, not a 2-year project. I actually feel a bit of empathy for the player because he tries bloody hard for us and I want him to succeed, but it's not happening and all evidence before he was signed indicated that reality.
It's ridiculous and naive of him to have signed that player and even more so to have said what he said in that interview. It also begs the question of his rationale for other signings, suggesting to me that analytics and common sense are probably double Dutch to Kettlewell, Daws and the Board.
Fans are fickle and won’t forget this type of bold stupidity of playing fast and loose with our tight budget.
