That is an excellent update by Derek Weir, and hats off to him for doing it. However, his high praise for the current management team suggests he could be chomping at the bit to extend their contracts beyond the end of this season, regardless of their poor performance (so far) this season. I get that we can't empty them now, as he explained why, but they're out of contract at the end of the season and should be on their way if the current trajectory continues, which is looking possible at the moment. To put it simply, given McMahon and Weir are stepping down and/or leaving to allow the Club the opportunities to move forward instead of standing still, awarding a poorly performing management team a new contract, in my opinion, would be the antithesis of what they're trying to achieve for the Club. Therefore, regardless of on-field performance, the timing of the appointment of a new CEO and Weir's departure could be pivotal in determining who the management team will be for next season. I understand that what I am concerned about here is hypothetical, but that's my gut reaction.
