Don’t worry, next season will be the season of midfielders. Probably.

Future coach/manager? https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2024/08/20/peter-hartley-motherwell-will-always-be-home/

Nice to see a couple of bigots have outed themselves tonight. Keep up the good work, Derek.

I'd love for us to move to a 433 with the players we have, but I don't think Kettlewell will deviate from what we've come accustomed to seeing.
-
The game is on Sunday 25th August, not Saturday 24th, and I think this one will likely be a boring draw. Probably 1-1.

Much better today, but only once Kettlewell finally made subs, which allowed Miller to drop back into his pivot position. Maswanhise, Watt and Moses were significant upgrades on Halliday, Davor and Robinson today. I also though Sparrow did well when he came on, and special mentions to Seddon and Wilson for playing a couple of different positions each today as Kettlewell fiddled with the line-up throughout the second half. The less said about Halliday, the better, but it was to be expected when he was signed. Him and Davor should not start together again in the double pivot positions, or whatever it is they're doing, as Miller is wasted in the advanced role he's being pegged into recently. We were crap until all that was changed, so let's hope Kettlewell has learned something. Watt worked hard when he came on and Maswanhise was brilliant. It was so refreshing to see a winger taking on his man, over and over again, and then getting a deserved assist.

His deal runs to January, with the option to extend beyond that, but I wouldn't expect him to be here for too long if he continues to perform as well as he did today.

Tawanda. The boy was class today and completely changed the game.

I was being sarcastic. Re-read the post that my post was in response to.

Tony Watt can play. Different rules for group stages and last 16.

The only shite patter here is you and others continually nibbling at every little thing I post. Keep it up.

Yet for every Bair shaped success there’s a disproportionate number of Callachan / Nicholson / Obika shaped losses. It’s not sustainable.
-
Maybe if Jack had a greater determination to succeed he wouldn’t have been out injured for 900+ days of his professional career.

I do recognise the significant restraints, and that’s exactly why I’m so pissed off at the inevitability of the situation we find ourselves in. Kettlewell preaches these restraints on a weekly basis. Therefore, if I had such a restricted budget, I wouldn’t allocate a significant proportion of it to the same type of risk (injury prone players) in key positions. One or two risks across the squad is to be expected, but the balance of his signings is all wrong and it’s come back to bite him. If it’s a choice between the categories of risks you’ve outlined, I’d rather Kettlewell spent money on young/struggling available players and one or two quality players, instead of wasting a lot on several injury prone experienced players and then having to spend more to mitigate the impact of them being inevitably injured. The latter is always a false economy and a poor strategy, and we’ve seen it before. In the end, gamblers always lose.
-
This is a bollocks sweeping statement and you know it. Kettlewell is responsible for signing injury prone players. He’s not responsible for every player being injured or getting injured. Him signing risky players is a fact that many of us have pointed out and will continue to do so. Therefore, it won’t be a surprise if he signs Jack. Your statement only stands to reason for the injury to Stama, which many have argued was down to poor decision-making by Kettlewell.

With the arrival of Watt and our squad being decimated, it's formation tombola time for the Killie game. Any guesses?
-
I'd like to see Wells loaned out and get plenty of first team minutes somewhere. He looks like he could be a great wee player for us in the next couple of years. However, I think injuries to the squad will force Kettlewell to keep him in the match day squad until at least January.

When was this received and for what game? The WhatsApp channel is good.

I’d be shocked to see any Premiership club take a punt on Jack unless it was on an expenses and appearances based contract.
-
My original post was shorter, although the flippant nature of my word choice seems to be lost on some who’ve felt the need to take it literally. Google facetious next and tell the forum what that means.
-
I was being facetious, but it was quicker than typing out my opinion that several people on this forum would still claim it was a cat that shat on their sofa after watching Kettlewell sitting on it.
-
The Stockholm syndrome on display on this forum is amusing.
-
Because it was a ridiculous decision to risk a brand-new arrival who is our marquee signing in that game when Robinson and Ebiye, who are both fit and up-to-speed, were available. The discussion on this risk has already been done to a death on the forums.

Stamatelopoulos is out for 6 weeks. That’s on Kettlewell.

Realistic expectations =/= continually accepting signing crocks.
