I also forgot about him but he's been great. Thought he'd be a Parker type signing where he's just been signed to have a longer look at him, but he's been good and we've missed him badly in there in recent weeks
-
I suspect it'll be the same team that started v St Mirren with Mawsanhise in for Watt
-
I'm not Kettlewell's biggest fan and don't understand multiple signings we made this summer, Callaham, Taveres, Koutrombis, Stuparevic, Vale to name a few. Our budget massivley limits what quality we can sign, I hardly think the manager and the recruitment team are trying to waste money. On surprising contract extensions. Halliday has started near enough every game so will be given a deal. Davor I can see us letting go. Blaney also probably will be let go unless he performs to the the level he showed yesterday more often. Our recruitment strategy this summer was very different to that of previous. Guys like Koutrombis, Stam, Stuparevic are not your typical Motherwell signing in recent years. For what it's worth I think most of the window was decent. Seddon, Gordon, Watt, Kaleta, Balmer, Stam, Maswanhise all been good signings. Robinson I rate but many in here don't so clearly splits opinion. As I said previously barring a change of shape I can only see 1/2 signings being made and 2/3 being moved on/loaned out. With Lennon probably being likely to move on as well.
-
Koutrombis, Callahan, Taveres would be the 3 I'd be getting rid of 1 of Robinson/Watt/Ebiye but Robinson out for the season I suspect he'll keep the other 2 as cover. We need a holding mid in January. If we keep Slattery and Nicholson fit I think we'll be fine for an attacking midfielder. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lennon go in January as well so if he does we'll need to try replace him as best as we can. Ox/Heygi Mcginn/Balmer Gordon Casey/Blaney Kaleta/SOD Miller/Davor/Halliday/Paton/Slattery/Nicholson/Sparrow/New Cm Wilson/Seddon Watt/Stam/Maswanhise/Ebiye/Robinson Unless he's planning to change shape I don't see us doing a lot of business. Probably end up 8/9th in the league.

St Mirren's main threat is a long ball. I'd be playing 352 against them all day long. You give them an overload in the middle they'll win every second ball. Need to try get Nicholson in the team and hope he can be the spark we've been sorley lacking. Ox Balmer Gordon Casey Kaleta Miller Halliday Seddon Nicholson Stam Watt That's probably what I'd go with and bring Maswanhise on last 20 v tired legs
-
Ebiye is better to play long to and get flicks off tho which seems to be all we do in games the winger poacher combo should work better as Maswanhise can create for him. I'm not opposed to Robinson playing up there either Stams just not involved for me waste of a jersey if we aren't using him to his strengths
-
352 Ox Balmer Gordon Seddon Kaleta Paton Miller Halliday Wilson Ebiye Maswanhise That's what I'd be going with Paton can help link the game a bit more and can at least carry the ball through midfield. I'd like to see Ebiye get a start he causes Chaos in the box and by adding Paton into midfield you've got him and Halliday that can go and attack the space he'll vacate from behind.

I'd be playing 352 on Wednesday. What we need to do is retain the ball a lot better, I find it incredible that our Cbs and Cms can't play through a press. Changing a Shape we've played all season with next to no trainig will cause more problems than it will solve we also have no RM so we'd be shoe-horning someone into a position they aren't used to playing.
-
Robinson offers more than Stam for me, holds the ball in a lot better and has a good finish on him. I want Stam to come good nut he's not been great and Robinson scored Saturday hopefully can go on a wee run of form.
-
Sparrow being out is a blow. Ox Balmer Gordon Casey Kaleta Miller Davor Paton Seddon Robinson Maswanhise
-
I like Wilson but why are we benching Seddon for him he's been poor the last 2 games and his crossing is no where near the standard of Seddons would rather Seddon at LWB and Wilson on the bench
-
With January coming up. I'd be looking at moving a few on. Callahan needs moved on. Taveres needs sent back to Hibs. Koutrombis could do with a loan. I'd consider recalling Stuperavic who's scored a fair few on loan at Morton. But we do have lots of options in that position so some would have to make way for this to be viable. I'd be bringing a pacey RW in January as Kettlewell's prefered formation against the better teams is 5-4-1. Also do we have an idea when we'll be seeing Slattery and Nicholson again. I'd also be moving on/Returning 1 of Watt, Robinson, Ebiye or Vale we have to many attackers and could use the wage to bring an attacking midfielder that could help us get in the top 6.
-
Miller is a better all round player, but I'd pick Turnbull every single time due to the goals and assists.
-
I've got to be honest 5.3M with a sell on clause is good business but I'd rather we get about 6/7M upfront + a smaller sell on clause especially if he goes to Celtic cos I can only see his value dropping from there.
-
Reckon Paton comes back in for this game which should help link the game a bit more than we have been in recent weeks.
-
Got to give credit to Kaleta. He looked poor the 1st 2 games he played but he's been absolutley brilliant for us since then. Cross for the goal was great on his weakfoot and was solid defensivley hope he doesn't get recalled his loan. Maswanhise and Sparrow also had great games. We seem to have recruited some decent players over the summer so here's hoping we can add 1/2 more come January to help us in push for top 6/Europe.

I'll start this by saying I think Kettlewell is a decent manager and we've had a good start to the season and I am not wanting him sacked This isn't just on him but we have signed a lot of injury-prone players and then moaning that they get injured i find a bit mad. I.e Nicholson, Callahan can even through Mcginn and Slattery in if you like all miss a number of games through injuries. Him and Recruitment department must do better as we seem to sign a crock near enough every season. I also think the coaching playing out the back desperatley needs improved the amount of times our Cbs were playing aimless long-balls was quite concerning, that Rangers team weren't great and if we we're even 10% better on the ball we'd probably win the game. Couple that with some of the subs made yesterday, Taveres, Robinson, Blaney. (Sparrow should of came on for Wilson imo but that was more understandable), Maswanhise was our only real threat so taking him off when he did didn't make a lot of sense to me. Koutrombis should of came on at RWB instaed of shifting Casey there . Ebiye instead of Robinson and Watt instead of Taveres in my humble opinion. While Kettlewell has done a lot of good for the club he's still got to be held accountable when he gets things wrong.

Personally I'd go with this Ox SOD Balmer Casey Kaleta Sparrow Halliday Miller Seddon Robinson Ebiye Rests a couple of players for the Semi and allows others to build sharpness. That line-up also gives us a box presence which we've been missing for most of the season. Alternativley you play 343 and bring in Maswanhise and Taveres and drop Robinson and Halliday/Sparrow
-
This is how I would set us up against Celtic. We need pace to exploit the space they leave in behind and I feel Stam is the best at bringing those around him into play out of our Strikers (Argument for Watt) 5-4-1 Ox SOD-Balmer-Gordon-Casey-Wilson Taveres-Miller-Halliday-Maswanhise Stam
-
I don't want to be overly reactionary but our midfield is not going to get us in the t6. Lennon as good as he is still learning. We got ran all over yesterday in there, We've needed a holding midfield player for years last time we had one was Liam Donnelly and he's been gone a good couple years now.
-
My team v Dundee this weekend would be Ox Mcginn Gordon Balmer SOD Miller Davor Halliday Wilson Stam Moses Got to make sure we win the battle in midfield or they'll run all over us.
-
I wanted him in for Kelly around October time when Kelly wasn't playing well but he was never going to drop the captain unless he was injured
-
He will have bad games that's fine it happens what I see different about him is he is taking pressure off the defence by coming for crosses and in general just a lot more calm than Kelly looked. Just look far more settled in that area than we did last season.
-
Oxborough new contract is brilliant news best GK we've had in years
-
I feel we should be getting 70 out of him his work rate is brilliant and keeps hold of the ball well while providing a threat in behind and in the air
