I see Ewan Wilson has come back to us from loan at Stirling Albion - possibly a result of Buyabu's mysterious departure. He looked quite promising in the league cup matches pre-season I thought.

Jeezo, that feels like a defeat. Had to watch on mute the "commentary" was so one-sided. Kevin Clancy very card-happy towards us, got nothing off him tonight. Arsehole. Doesn't take away from the fact we blew it, the players workrate and organisation once we were 3-0 up looked like they thought the game was won after 30 minutes. Really, really poor game management. The defence needs an overhaul, Butcher has not been great since returning and McGinn has looked a bit out of sorts at LCB - maybe time to move him back over and get Casey, Blaney or O'Donnell (did well on right of the 3 when asked) in there. Not seeing much wrong with our disallowed 4th -thought it had to be a clear error? VAR will hopefully GTF, re-refereeing the game it's a shite addition to football. Also thought a potential foul throw in build up to one of their goals, need to see it again but don't think I can re-live that game. Jesus wept...

Big game, would take a scrappy 1-0 to the good guys. I don't envisage too many changes from Saturday's lineup although maybe we'll see more minutes for the subs as it was quite a physical game v Killie. I agree, I don't think we should deviate from our wage structure (albeit I have no knowledge of what this is) for anybody, just personal opinion. Spittal has been an excellent signing, quite an underrated player I think. Good luck to the new signings - if Devine can play on either side that gives us some good options in wide areas. I'm quietly optimistic for the remainder of the season, be good to get another forward in before the deadline..! One more would give us a 1st team squad of 23 presuming nobody departs. As others have mentioned, Kettlewell and co. have done a pretty good job of trimming the squad down.

Reports that we might be looking to bring James Scott back to Fir Park from Exeter (who themselves are apparently going for Joel Nouble). The report saying that St. Mirren, Dundee and Ross County are also interested. Would be pretty happy if we managed to sign him personally.

Mika Biereth is offski, just have to move on. He turned out to be a great signing by the club - a bright spark in a difficult first half of the season. When you look at the real outstanding players that have departed during Stuart Kettlewell's reign to date (Max Johnston, Kevin Van Veen and Mika Biereth) - he's had a tough job on his hands. Always going to be difficult to replace players like these on our limited funds compared to many, if not most of the clubs in our league. It was great to watch them while we could. If you take the past season or 2 for example, I don't think many of the comparible teams have been fortunate enough to see players of this quality turning out for them and equally have not had to deal with the loss of such influential players (off the top of my head Regan Charles-Cook at RC, maybe Nicky Devlin at Livi). Hopefully there's another gem out there to be had..!

Slightly concerning report surfacing that Championship side Sheffield Wednesday are keen to take Mika Biereth on loan. Would obviously require Arsenal to terminate his loan with us if they deemed it a better option for his development. Apparently they have done this before with loan deals, but who knows if they have a recall option. Fingers crossed this is just speculative journalism with no substance to it..! Also looks like Curtis Main is signing for Dundee.

Alan Nixon, football writer for critically acclaimed newspaper The Sun... 😅 has linked Motherwell, Dundee and St. Mirren with interest in bringing Curtis Main back to Scotland. If true, I would be in the "thanks, but no thanks" category, but given the paper he works for, I'm inclined to think this may be another instance of lazy journalism.

I imagine if the players have a bit of downtime during the break Biereth may be home visiting family etc. and Arsenal have just got him in for a few sessions, hopefully..! Dhanda would look to be a good signing for Hibs if that's the script

Think with Souare, Wilkinson and Spencer departing hopefully we are trying to bring in a right-sided defender, another midfield option and a forward. I think Stephen O'Donnell has played very well on the right side of centre defence, Butcher now back from injury and eventually Casey - so we have plenty options there. Also, wonder if Shaw's loan deal will be cut short..?

That's a decent point to a team above us in the league, albeit a sore one losing a goal late on. Hibs could have been out of sight after going 1-0 up - the team showed great determination to get it to 2-1. I think the fact the opposition had a rest at the weekend should be taken into account re. late goal with tiredness setting in. Huge deflection on the equaliser too, was a tad unfortunate although could have cleared the first cross better. Hopefully 1 or 2 signings in January window and offloading a couple of the fringe players will see us heading into the 2nd half of the season more optimistic than the last wee while.

Was at the game last night, enough said on that. Looking forward, I thought wee Zdravkovski actually did a good job marking Dhanda 2nd half (albeit the game looked done) - got stuck in, showed for the ball and had some decent touches. Maybe him and Oxborough deserve their chance. Hopefully McGinn is fit for this one, sounding like Casey and Butcher will be out. Aye. Shaw can have is loan terminated in January hopefully - has offered zero from what I've seen so far been a terrible signing. At least the team showed some fight to get the draw 2nd half there.

The players body language on the half time whistle - heads down, strolling towards the tunnel. The whole lot of them need a rocket (maybe one-way, to the moon...). If we don't see some sort of reaction after that abysmal 1st half showing, not sure where we go from here with the current group.

If Butcher is match fit (did we play a bounce game during the long break?), he could play the holding midfield role with young Miller suspended - that was his position for years mind. Zdravkovski is another option, maybe he'll get another chance in there. Mugabi hasn't done too much wrong so would be a bit harsh dropping him out of the defence. Anyway aye, it's up to the manager!

A draw away in poor conditions to the newly promoted side is not a bad start. Mind 4 of our starting 11 were making their debut in this league today. Thought the 2 forwards actually did fairly well considering they have never played together. Good positional sense and finish from Bair for the goal. Blaney may offer a balance in defence but perhaps Mugabi got the nod today given Dundee's front pairing were both 6ft+? Slattery seems a lot sharper than last season, Miller looked composed in the middle. Obviously the goal conceded wasn't great defensively - allowing the cross to come in too easily and then a free header. On Souaré - he only started 6 games last season and needs a chance to settle in with a run of games, same goes for any new signing, in my opinion. McGinley, whilst I've nothing against the guy, does not fill me with great confidence any time I see him play. Ewan Wilson showed some promise in his league cup appearances, thought he may have come on at LB instead - but I'm not the boss..! Just a few thoughts.

Saw an article today stating that James Scott has been told he is free to find a new club in January having not featured for Hull in over a year (Hibs loan last season with 16 appearances, 4 goals 1 assist). Still only 22 and we know he can play in a front three if that is the system we are going to persist with this season. Pure speculation and know some folk are averse to former players returning. Just seems like his career has gone a bit off track since departing and his links to the club may make him a viable option. Not really an out and out striker though, which may be more of a priority.
