Great appointment was worried who we'd end up with. Hope he gets off to a flying start with 3 points on Saturday and hopefully a win on my birthday next week. Hope he's the know how and eye for a player to get the rebuild going in the summer
-
Unless he has a basil faulty return like in faulty towers when the guests tell him how bad it is.
-
It's all good I've maybe not been having the greatest spell recently so it's maybe been coming out in opinions on the football 😉
-
He is but he still has a decent ball on him. Also full back wing back same difference
-
Thomson I meant

Just set up to win the game let teams worry about what threat we carry. If we can carry a threat there's some decent strikers in the team and some okay fullbacks. The new boy Robinson looks like he's a ball on him I'd play Maswanhise through the middle next to another striker and put slattery in behind them. Oh and get our foot on the ball for a change let us dictate the pace instead of reacting to everything.

Watched that 19 goals from open play 6 being in the league Cup which is 13 goals in the league from open play. Most of our goals are from set pieces and I think we had 2 goals where it was a midfielder who created or made the assist so our tactic really was to play for set pieces and cross the ball in from wide. I wonder how other sides do in stats like goals from open play ours is funny as most of our goals from open play came against utd and Aberdeen and Rangers. But on the whole our creative output has been poor and reinforces the need for a midfield

Really what we seeing. Today doesn't mean much In the grand scheme of things. We will have a new manager next time we line up who's gonna have his way of playing and his system. Thought we were minimally better than we have been in recent weeks(not a high bar granted) it's just are we gonna carry it forward to play a bit better against likes of County and Dundee clubs. Time will tell. I think after week the club has had bridges need built between club, players and fans

He sounds an ideal candidate get him

Heard from someone who's in the know. But they decided they weren't happy because not consulted and it wasn't a profit share for a charity.

Well it's more difficult than that If I didn't have friends who I've made coming to watch motherwell every week and it wasn't such a big part of my social life I would stop spending but I'll put this way I may or may not renew my season card I will be unlikely to spend on kits and training gear as most of my gym outfits come from the club shop. At the end of the day well society are owners and need to start acting as such. This situation this week with the club in the media the chairman spending 10 minutes on the clubs youtube channel addressing the fans as though we're ill behaved children and that Stevie Frail clip has happened on their watch. They weren't slow at complaining about the 3rd kit to Caldwell which if were as cash strapped as always claiming maybe a 3rd kit for profit isn't a bad thing.but that's another argument.
-
The well society own the club but when these things happen amd the club is off course in how they're acting they side in. Either they're a responsible owner of a football club or a supporter Trust. I don't feel the well society represent me here so if the messaging from the club is deemed acceptable by the well society then I no longer wish for me or my money to be associated with the well society until a full and public apology and acknowledgement from both the well society as owner and the club as the club is made.

Well after hearing it all and how we've been flung under the bus this week I have stopped my well society contribution and have let them know that I'm extremely disappointed with how the club have handled it in the media and the narrative that's been spun. If I'm a part of a group od big bad buggers to you then you won't wish to have my money that I work longer hours than SK ever did and for a lot less money. I've had 1 day off in the last 14 days and I work 10-14 hours a day so the financial outlay of going to football I expect to see a team fighting the bit out and trying to play some football. I've never personally abused anyone but the way fans have been painted this past week has been saddening and I'm so disappointed on our club right now
-
In all fairness for most any manager we're a better proposition than raith rovers we're an established spfl premiership side and in a better location in between two major cities so in theory easier to attract players. It isn't a like for like comparison really.

In regards to SOD we don't actually know for sure what's true there's some stories which indicate some smoke and there's no smoke without fire is my personal opinion. I have said myself his performances and when he picks and drops form concern me. None of which I'd say is unacceptable abuse. I would like to know the line as we all have expectations from players I do tend to expect more from the more experienced cohort of players of the day I'm terms of I expect them to set the example for what's acceptable to the younger players on the pitch and on that charge SOD and Haliday leave a lot to be desired with how they've performed at points this season. Of our experienced group For my Money McGinn is a model professional on the pitch.
-
He's done the right thing we were only heading one direction under him. If anyone's gave him or his family abuse its out of order and wrong. From the footballing perspective we weren't setting our stall out the best way we could even with the injuries too slow going up field midfield doesn't look like it communicates with each other. Players genuinely look at times like they've not played with one another all season. I hope we take our time and make the right appointment for us give Stevie frail to end of season while we evaluate candidates.

I'd like to think that he gets the county game and if were me I'd be telling him anything less than a win against County and Dundee and he's out the door.
-
I was meant to miss this one due to meeting Jim Ross on Saturday then I was unlucky and it was moved to Sunday.
-
If you look at my post history before last week's mare in the cup I'm typically reasoned but last week maybe got my blood pressure up more than it should
-
Ideally I'd like every player to be more like Paul McGinn a solid 7/10 week in week out I don't expect anyone to be a world beater but I do ask they try to play and win games comfortably once in a while again if we edge a game 1-0 or 2-1 or lose a game at least make the opposition work for it. We've been far too easy to play since the turn of the year and there's several issues but i do think our more experienced guys should be guiding the lads through a touch more. Wilson is off form maswanhise is our best striker and he's being isolated on wing and being pulled too far back to be effective. We're devoid of any creativity in open play. And to top it all off there's no signs of improvement at the moment. Maybe I'm just a frustrated grumpy grumps grumpusing around but man I'm not looking forward to playing celtic this week as we're liable to get hammered if we keep playing like this

My concern with Steven O’Donnell as a Motherwell player stems from a pattern I've noticed during his time at the club. He often starts strongly when a new manager comes in, showing good form and commitment, but then his performances tend to drop off over time. For example, under Stevie Hammell, there were moments when O'Donnell looked like a rejuvenated player, but that form didn't last. Similarly, when Kettlewell first took over, he looked solid, but his performances have since dipped again. While I can see and respect the positives others might point out about him, this recurring pattern raises a concern for me, as he’s been a consistent presence throughout these cycles. I may be off the mark but it does strike me as a constant and a concern and the fact there's a few stories out there of him with issues with management at motherwell it does raise an eyebrow from me.
-
The calendar signing and spending time with kids is great like fair play for that but ultimately its what happens on the pitch that counts. And I think Odonnel as the more experienced players on the pitch he needs to give the younger players on field a better example and set the standards.
-
So my basic point is and I'll be very clear about this if any player strolls into motherwell I don't care how good they are if they have an attitude if I don't like the manager and that's going to affect how much effort that is put on when they have a motherwell Jersey on that player and any player like that can get out the door and asked to never return. It's why I didn't want KVV back as well when others where furious we weren't putting in for him.
-
I have heard from someone trustworthy that SOD went to higher ups and complained about Hammell and let's remember Alexander dropped him because he was Guff inthink Alexander treated him how his performances in a motherwell shirt warrant him to be treated. If I took over tomorrow he'd be first out the door.
-
And said footballing genius should be out the door with him.
