There's a few players who have been sold for decent fees that have done nothing with their careers - James Scott going for £1.75 million is the most obvious example.. Equally there's a plethora of guys have we've picked up from the wilderness and sold on for significant money - Kipre & Bair being the two most best examples of that recently. As much as plenty of people like to complain, Motherwell's player trading over the last decade+ has been a roaring success.

Motherwell in comparison to our peers have received transfer fees they could only dream of. St Mirren, Dundee & Killie are generally considered to be broadly similar sized clubs yet our numbers are on a completely different level to theirs. There's probably a separate argument to be made about the gap widening between the OF & the rest and how we'll no doubt never see a team out with those two ever win the league again (or even get close FWIW). But that's a debate for another day.

http://www.motherwell-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/motherwell_agm__sound_finances_985543/index.shtml There's a roundup of the AGM .
-
That certainly wasn't the suggestion at the AGM
-
Stephen 'easy target' O'Donnell back at it again today.
-
It's not singling a player out to suggest that a guy that's onto his 5th manager in 5 seasons isn't performing. He gets done constantly defensively and is so poor going forwards.
-
Least he's good at something I suppose.
-
He's an easy target because he's been guff for years.
-
Is Tam Courts not very Kettlewell-y? Would be very surprised if it was any of the Davies, Lennon, Naismith (etc) type names that the bookies are chucking about.
-
Where you seeing this?
-
Has the (former) manager not been pretty clear in interviews that he doesn't do social media
-
I mean, club media are hardly going to be asking him when he's going to hand in his P45. It's the same at every club, I guarantee you if you listen to pretty much any post match interview from a defeat today and the questions will be the near enough same. It seems pointless to have a go at some wee media guy.
-
Think there's a bit of confirmation bias going with Balcombe, he had one dodgy moment in the first half that he was lucky to get away with but apart from that I thought he had a decent enough game.
-
Always fun when we get to the point of the season when the media team are getting abuse. Who's next to get sacked? The guy on the tannoy?
-
I'd make him Kettlewell's replacement tbh.
-
Time for him to go, we've been served up awful football all season and we're now getting the results we deserve. My biggest criticism with Kettlewell (and it has been for a while) is that he never learns from his mistakes and he takes no accountability for his failures, no doubt if he's got an interview today he'll be pointing fingers at everybody and anybody but himself.
-
Hope no one is saying any hurty words about the manager. Can't be having that now...
-
33, 29 and 34 league games he's played across the previous 3 seasons. He currently has a hamstring injury but it apparently isn't any more serious than a few weeks out.
-
Is that not more to do with Livi, Killie and Accies all spending years setting up to shit fest their way to points?
-
https://x.com/pieandbov/status/1873706979123773924?t=kfHI3MQRYYVZ5_IFAugyTQ&s=19 This is what I'm going off of. From there Killie's point distribution is one of the closest to 50/50 and I suspect today's result will only make it worse. As for the second part, is that not my whole point? Killie have had 2 sides filled with good players but more importantly very good defenders as well as 2 very experienced managers. That's why they've gotten those results, not because of their pitch.
-
Is that not pretty normal for a home/away loss ratio. The record Vs the OF, think it's simply that McIness and Clarke knew how to set up Vs them. I don't think it has much to do with the pitch, for example Accies never really had a decent record Vs either of them at NDP as far as I can remember.
-
People over estimate the affect of the astro. Managers and player love using it as an excuse after they've shat the bed. In reality Killie's home form is absolutely nothing spectacular
-
I mean, their form certainly is but that squad (Alex Cochrane aside) is the exact same as the one that won 3rd at a relative canter last season.
-
Fancy a Desmond for this. As much as on paper we should be the favourites I just don't trust us to go to Tynecastle and win. Hearts aren't as bad as their league position makes them out to be but with the crowd if we can frustrate them early and grab a goal then things could turn very toxic.

Did Casey not hold out for a while when he re-signed for a bigger contract. Admittedly it's total speculation but if he's on decent money I'd wouldn't mind letting Casey go. He's by no means useless but Casey has been a regular in a defence that's shipped goals for fun.
