With the amount of signings we’ve made it was never going to gel over night. The balance of the squad is clearly not quite right. We haven’t added enough pace or energy into the team and that’ll need to be rectified before the end of the window. I reckon we’re a striker, 2 attacking midfielders and an athletic box-to-box midfielder from having a decent squad. I agree with a lot of points being made by @steelboy but that type of short term thinking and poor governance is the reason we’ve struggled for the last few years. Let’s see how we’re looking in October…

If more competence had been shown in the last 3 years by the Executive Board then I doubt this conversation would even been happening... Managerial sackings, making an absolute riot of the Hunter Stand refurb and some other very poor decision making at boardroom level has seen us regress on and off the pitch. We are in a position this summer where we can realistically earn somewhere between £3-4 million in transfer fees. That may well be transformational sum in our case. This should be spent overhauling our player trading model and further ensuring our academy pathway for years to come. I would start by appointing an experienced football person (probably as DoF) to oversee the entire football operation at the club. This would be a viable way to increase revenue without potentially jeopardising ourselves. Absolutely agree on your last line... it is time that the tail stopped wagging the dog. The Well Society board need to ensure that the Exec board is being held accountable.

It is also absolutely shite that the Well Society STILL aren’t in a position to offer an alternative proposal to members.

Anyone claiming he’s the worst we’ve ever had is talking nonsense. He has been a decent servant to the club and helped us out of a sticky patch during the covid season. He had an excellent first 18 months with the club. His form has since fallen off a cliff and in my opinion he’s been lucky to keep his place in our starting 11. Hope he has a shite time at Rangers.

Okay then, has our defence been better or worse than that of Ross County? They’ve conceded 67 goals to our 59. Their goalkeepers the year have a save percentage of 69.9%. You can dress it up however you like, the fact is he has massively underperformed this year. Anyone with a set of eyes can see that.

I assume you’re his da? Siegrest and Bain are leaving Celtic and McLaughlin and McCrorie are leaving Rangers. Of that list he’s only a better keeper than Bain. You know fine well he’s going to be 2nd or 3rd choice at either club and will help them make up their “homegrown” quota.
