The trick for this game is to attack McAusland at every opportunity because he's fucking rubbish. My main belief with us is we are not clinical enough to have easy wins against anyone. I'd guess we'll have most of the game, make heavy weather of it and if we're lucky win 1 or 2 nil, if we are indifferent draw 0-0 and if unlucky they'll hit us the counter and beat us 1-0. But aye go for McAusland - work out the team that attacks him most and do it.

There really is nothing much between the seven teams. You could make a case for any of them. If 4th had a real chance of being Europe it would make the league immensely exciting as really anyone down to Aberdeen has a chance and the race to be in the six would be crucial to let you compete for it in the last five games.

I've not spoken to or read a post on any other website from an Accies fan endorsing Reid's view. Think he is using it purely for deflection on another poor result. My view on today's match was that we were the dominant force. On the whole we played well but we didn't create enough chances for the territory and possession we had and additionally the vast majority of the ones we did make went over or wide. Cerny made one save that was excellent and a couple that were straightforward but was never overworked. If Humphrey had scored that thing near the end would have been one of the goals of the season but again the chance was ballooned. I usually find Crawford Allan a frustration of a ref but actually thought he was pretty good today - tried to play advantage, only used the card when he had to, got the penalty right, didn't have his usual love affair of the whistle. He may have missed a couple of fouls but would rather he did that than make some up like he usually does especially against a team who would just slow it down at every opportunity.

Was aware of some things going on with stewards and fans today but having not seen what had started the incidents its impossible to give impartial comment. Understand why they search folk but if someone wants to throw something on a park they'll manage it but it ticks a box when it goes wrong and the SPL start investigating. Should they? Well I can understand both sides of that argument but for me its unimportant.

Lasley and Jennings are, in my view, our best two players. Today they were good but like Gaag I don't think they looked as good as usual today. However part of that is because they break the play up and then spread it out and they didn't have much opportunity to break the play up due to the opposition being so poor. As they were out of their comfort zone they didn't have the same dominating force on the game.

Taking all the Brown revenge stuff out to come back three days after losing 6-0 on Saturday, not scoring an away goal in the league for three months and losing a goal after two minutes tonight that result shows some amount of character. Sounded a bit nervy at the end but that should be the result that makes our season and whilst never seriously worried should secure our SPL status. Good night all round.

Pretty sure its Stuart McCall

Craig Brown, both with us and now at Aberdeen is very adept at beating absolute cannon fodder. However thats something McGhee wasn't doing up there at the end and given they have only lost to Celtic in about two months (granted three times) they are a dangerous opponent. From our point of view we need a reaction after yesterday. I'm sure there will be no shortage of motivation given what happened when Brown and Knox left. If we play like we did at Dens then there is no reason why we can't come back down the road with something for all that Aberdeen have been better they haven't set the world on fire. Will be a struggle but I'm hopeful.

THe thing that saddens me most about our recent slump is after every game you come on here and read that some or all of the players haven't cared. Granted I've not been to an away league game since the Accies but in the games I've seen I could not fault one of them for effort. And being shite is a much lesser crime that not giving one. And for people to come on here and question their professionalism (i.e. saying their not trying) I find quite offensive. And for all the doom and gloom, where I accept we're not brilliant, I know if the application is right we will hold our end up against the tailenders and nick some points off the middle order. Our lack of fire power is the worry though. I know we shipped six yesterday with a makeshift and unfit defence but in reality on a normal day they will be OK.
-
Of course hindsight is 20-20 and McCall maybe thought we were close enough to getting something last time that nicking a point was not an impossibility yesterday with our best players and thought it was worth a risk. However its backfired and if one or other of Craigan and Lasley suffer a setback the backfiring could be more spectacular.

Was speaking to a Rangers fan this morning who said that it was obvious to him that the defence were covering Craigan as he was struggling to get to half pace and the same in the midfield with Lasley. Having only seen the goals its not really for me to comment but as a rule of thumb you cannot go to Ibrox with two players who are as far off the pace as they sounded from that summary and we'd have been as well shoehorning the fit ones we had into a formation and tried to play a bit. Unlike many on here he said that Motherwell gave their all though but they were just short on positional sense and pace and quality to deal with Jelavic who he said was a level above. Though in the grand scheme of things yesterday didn't matter an iota and the next three games are huge. If we can get four points from the two at home we're safe as there is no way Accies will make up fourteen points on us even if we lose every other game. Even if they beat us I still suspect 11 may be too big a bridge for them.
-
Why? Aberdeen with the possible exception of INverness have beaten a pile of garbage since Brown arrived. Namely Hamilton, St Mirren, Inverness and Hibs. Not saying that we'll get anything but to say we can write it off is a touch melodramatic. Ibrox is the last place to be experimenting with the defence but his hand was forced by injuries. End of the day I never expected anything and sometimes a right doing is the wake up call some players need so hopefully they'll hurt, bounce back and do the business in Aberdeen on Tuesday.

Since I've been watching football I think that is the one thing they have introduced that has improved it.

I remember queueing outside Hampden to buy tickets for a Scotland game a few years back and there was a Morton fan in front of me. And he was going to have to miss Morton v Thistle in the 2nd division which was a 2nd v 1st game at the time. I think it was the home game v Italy when we drew 1-1 and Miller scored and whilst I'm lucky and I don't have a decision to make as we have always been in the SPL or equivalent since I have watched football but I doubt I'd be missing any top of the table 'Well game for a Scotland match. But my support for both is like the wording on a stick of rock but if pushed would edge for the 'Well.

Both clubs have given the game a chance of having a decent crowd so well done to them. Just need to really push it now in the local press and as Lobey D said some subsidised transport could help further. Expected them to go for £15 again but they been a little braver so I hope the fans reward the clubs by turning up and creating an atmosphere on both sides.

The Forbes decision was an absolute shocker but being completely fair he has had one mistake in three matches we've been involved in. And I've never heard him mentioned about making an arse of any other game either. Therefore I'd conclude he is a decent assistant who made a dick of it once. Until there is a trend this paranoid conspiracy doesn't wash.

Flick up between Jones and Gunning for me as that partnership on the left was our most productive. Don't think either would have been as effective without the other and looked like they had played together for years. Just went for Gunning though as I felt Jones made a couple of wrong decisions round their box. But really tight though.

In a wee stadium like that there is no harm at all - I don't especially like them as I sometimes have found them really catching the back of my throat but on Saturday I just stepped about six steps to my right and was out of the smoke and those who want to be in the middle of smoke were happily getting smoked on. I like it less in some of the stands where you can't move out the way as easily (Tannadice being prime example). Though all for people having a good time and enjoying themselves and people need to be encouraged more rather than discouraged which is why I don't mind moving a wee bit. If there were smoke bombs the whole way round the terrace on Saturday I'd have been a bit peeved but as long as people are reasonable to my needs I'll be reasonable about their wants. And if any rocket brings a firework into the ground then jail is too good for them given how dangerous that is.

I think our performance was poor with a few out of sorts but to their credit the application was spot on and even with some below par if an SPL team has the right attitude against a third division team they will eventually win through. As the game wore on territorially we were well on top and over the piece we defended well enough that they never had a single shot on goal. Very ordinary game but we were deserved winners. A bit like last week with Rangers but in reverse, the underdog were at top of their game but the favourite weren't far enough off it that they could capitalise. And damn good day out too. Shame Friday's shenanigans tempered the drinking a wee bit but them the breaks.

Fair enough - first time I was aware of it was when Craigan signalling and by then nobody had time to strip and get on. All in though the defence was stretched due to an injury which is why they scored not because we defended badly solely because we can't defend. The play went on for about five minutes it seemed before the ball went out. Couldn't believe he had remembered. Swine. Thought the ref was all right too but sending Hay off while maybe deserved for cynicism by the letter of the law was probably a tad harsh. But again like someone said I find it hard to have much sympathy for him.

Doubt we're going to get anyone without a downside who is currently sitting without a club. From the position we are in is he the best we are going to get? If we can afford him probably. Though I wouldn't be breaking the bank for him - I'd rather stick with what we have.

I think the goal we lost was damn unlucky as a minute before it Craigan was pointing at Hammell and making the subby action to the bench and then before we can change it their winger stretches his legs down that side and fires in a good cross. Jones has something we haven't had down the left for ages and i think he will prove to be an asset over time. Casagolda I don't know what to say. There is something about him - workrate is excellent and a couple of times he created us a lot of space. Other times he just looks rubbish. Certainly think we need to keep him fresh and let him have another chance. Thought some of our crossing tonight was really good tonight. Some of the balls into the box from Hammell, Humprhey and Jones caused all sorts of bother. But I still think we need an alternative creative outlet in the middle plus a finisher. Still think we have enough to be stuck in the middle until the end of the season though. Overall though pretty content with how we played and looked to play but finishing and final ball need worked on. And tonight is also the first time I have felt the rain in the back row of the East Stand. Woeful weather which helped nobody out there.

For me a striker would have been nice. However its not the end of the world we didn't get one. We can argue that getting top six would get us more money - it obviously would but if we save the money now and blood Pollock, MrHugh, Meechan, Page et al for a few games just one or two at a time and see if they are ready one or two of them could prove to be and that could save us those top six monies in the summer. And if we make the top six its a double bonus.

I think Omar Daley sounds more like an Irish newspaper rather than a footballer. However I think there is as much chance of us spending £200k on someone as there is St Mirren winning the league this season.
