Me and you both know that we'd have been back in the Bowling Club midway through the second half regardless of how thrilling the draw was.
-
Happy with the group stages, always felt reintroducing them could add a bit of interest (and a few extra games if we ever went to a 16/18 team league in the future). Don't necessarily agree it'll have any big impact on attendances though. I imagine we'll just see another few games with piss-poor crowds, particularly while a lot of folk are still on their holidays. If it's regionalised, playing the same teams every summer is going to get old fairly quickly and if it's not regionalised, away supports could end up being grim. Bonus point thing is chronic patter though - sounds more like an American game show than a domestic football tournament.

Following a much improved performance at the weekend, the lads are joined by Ian Buchanan to go over the reasons as to the improvement, preview the Scottish Cup draw, look ahead to the trip to Partick Thistle on Saturday and cover this week’s ‘Remember Well’ question. http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-20/

"Post Highlands was always going to be a struggle and as a result Sparra and Jay had to form a bizarre double-act to go over the shambles at Ross County, discuss the departure of chairman Brian McCafferty and ‘look ahead’ to Hearts this weekend. There’s also this week’s ‘Remember Well’ question and some Will Smith…" http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-201516-episode-19/

We've gone done another podcast. This time it's just a trio as the lads look forward to the trip to Dingwall, discuss the Well Society on the back of the Q&A, and look at last week's Remember Well question. http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-18/

Sparra found himself stranded on a train and despite his best efforts, couldn't record more than a few minutes without the Scotrail woman announcing "this train is for..." or "we are now approaching..." So, Joe McKelvie and Peter Elder joined myself and Busta to go over this week's talking points: http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-17/

Aye, that's us rumbled. The podcast is an elaborate front, surprising it's taken so long for anyone to clock given that news story has been (very) public knowledge for over two years. Me and Busta are on EBTs too. Back in the real world, wee bit of a delay this week as we've all been busy with other commitments* but should be online late tonight or tomorrow. * - spending all your Prediction League fivers no doubt. Surprised at this from you Buxe - you've been admin on these forums long enough to know better than indulging in truth, logic and common sense.

I remember there seemed to be a genuine excitement and interest about the whole idea of fan ownership at the start - a proper buzz and a desire to at least engage with the prospect, even if some were sceptical it could succeed. Fast forward a few years and it seems the Well Society's only success has been to take that excitement and interest and kill it stone dead, replacing it with indifference, disinterest and, in some cases now, a genuine dislike of the whole thing. That's the one legacy of those who've been in charge of the Society over the years. It's quite a considerable achievement.

John Berry (who was actually at Pittodrie) joined us last night for this week's podcast: http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-201516-episode-15/

Lots to talk about on a slightly longer podcast than normal... http://www.mfc1886.com/1196-2/

This week's podcast is now online - discussions about the Accies defeat, Jake Taylor, Craig Samson, Scott McDonald, Ian Baraclough, upcoming fixtures against Morton and Partick Thistle, and the Remember Well dementia initiative. Ross Mitchell and Craig Holmes joined Jay and Busta... http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-10/

This is pretty late notice but we've had a last minute call-off for the podcast - anyone with Skype & an opinion fancy an appearance at 12.30?
-
"Following on from the signing of Samson, the podcast's Jay queries the club's current transfer policy in a new blog entry..." http://www.mfc1886.com/another-week-another-signing/

Just a heads up for podcast listeners - we're going to record & upload a little later in the week just to allow us to talk about both the St. Johnstone & East Fife games. For those who usually listen online, links should be up on Wednesday - for those who subscribe, you can expect the podcast to be available on the same day.

With the Super Sub still on the bench for now, it was just myself, Sparra & Busta on tonight's podcast. If you're struggling to get to sleep as Monday is currently turning into Tuesday, this should be better than counting sheep... Website: http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-5/ Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/mfcpodcast/mfc-podcast-2015-16-episode-5 For those who have Subscribed for automatic downloads, you'll have something to listen to on your Tuesday morning commute.

This was only decided after the tickets went on sale. When those there at noon asked about this, they were told it wasn't possible and they'd have to buy the physical ticket when it arrived. It's great that common sense has prevailed but perhaps it would have been a better plan to let it prevail when the tickets first went on sale. The person that went to collect our tickets was told they weren't on sale yet, so actually suggested the whole reserve-the-ticket idea and was told it wasn't possible so, due to other plans, left. Turns out they've then taken the idea and ran with it afterwards. Great stuff. I also phoned around 1pm and was told the tickets were still in transit. Wasn't told anything about being able to reserve a ticket, hence why I suggested they still weren't on sale - that's pretty much the impression I was given on the phone. EDIT: Just spoke to someone who was allowed to reserve tickets at 12.10. Seems if you were stupid enough to turn up actually at noon as the tickets went on sale, this luxury wasn't afforded to you but a few minutes later you'd be fine. Or maybe they just didn't fancy selling us tickets...
-
Tickets not on sale at noon as advertised, yet the suggestion of paying for the tickets (complete with season ticket vouchers), with the actual briefs being picked up later or nearer the game, was refused for no apparent reason. Any semblance of common sense would have resulted in that idea being implemented so that those arriving to buy tickets when advised to do so by the club were able to reserve them.. As of 10 minutes ago, tickets still not on sale, although the club Twitter and Facebook is completely silent. I understand the tickets not being delivered isn't the club's fault - but advertising the time they go on sale without knowing 100% they'll have the tickets is their responsibility, as is the refusal to implement a very basic measure to ensure those who turned up to buy them would be able to do so. Shouldn't be surprised but it does get tiring having to put up with the absolutely farcical service our ticket office provides just about every time it has to actually sell tickets. Tellingly, everyone I've mentioned it to has responded with "typical Motherwell".

Admittedly the more technical side of the downloads, website etc isn't my strong point so I'll speak to our admin guru about this! I think originally the plan was just to have them on Soundcloud so that it would encourage people to check out the actual YouTube videos - but if there's demand for the XIs to be on iTunes etc, then it's something worth checking out. Also, for those asking about this week's podcast - we're a little late due to one or two issues but we will be recording later today!

We've stayed in there for Inverness Away before mate, it's actually decent given the price. As long as you don't electrocute yourself on some of the sockets hanging out of the walls it's perfectly fine. There's a decent size common room/lounge bit with a big TV and couches if you're having a cargo before heading out to cut down costs too.

MFC Podcast 2015-16 - Episode 1 After five fantastic summer specials and with a new season on the horizon, the more standard podcast format returns. This week Andy Paterson joins Sparra, Jay and Busta to discuss the pre-season preparation. If you've Subscribed on your phone, computer or tablet via iTunes or another app, it'll be available for you to listen to now (or in the very near future). For those of you who listen online, you can find it on the new website: http://www.mfc1886.com/mfc-podcast-201516-episode-1/

We've already got a couple of ex-players lined up for the coming season, although we'll be resorting to doing one every so often once the football is back. Unfortunately it means you'll have to put up with the return of standard fan chat up until whenever the next special podcast occurs! On that note, and I know it's been said before, but anyone who listens and thinks they've got something to contribute, give us a shout. One of the responses to the survey we did pointed out that most of the guests are known to us, but we can't force folk we don't know to come on. It's an open forum for anyone who wants to be a guest and I don't think there's any reason we'd say no to any 'Well fan who fancies it.

Next week we'll kick off with the first proper podcast of season 2015/16. For this week though, here's goalkeeping legend Sieb Dijkstra following in the footsteps of Kevin Twaddle, Brian Martin and Rob McKinnon by joining the lads to pick his career XI... The YouTube video is the best possible way to enjoy this feature but if you prefer the audio only version, you can catch it on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/bytheminsport/mfc-podcast-xi-4-sieb-dijkstra

We've still got Jack Leitch mind. I think given the squad we have now it's almost certain that a goalkeeper, centre half, and central midfielder will be the last three signings Baraclough is talking about.
