If it was just a case of being sceptical then I don't think anyone would mind. And, to be fair, on here it generally is scepticism from the few as opposed to abuse (not that I'd expect any player to give a toss about abuse on an Internet forum anyway). However, at Fir Park there are still those who bizarrely seem to think there's something to be gained by abusing a player in claret and amber. When it's a moan or a grumble after a misplaced pass or a missed chance, by any player, then fair enough - but I'll never understand those who feel the need to (often literally) spit out verbals at our own (seemingly specially selected) players, for no genuine reason. That's not scepticism, that's just being a bit of a tit.

Let's face it, Higdon could score hat-tricks like today every week for the rest of the season and one or two 'Well fans would still refuse to accept his contribution to the team for reasons only known to themselves. Motherwell managers, opposition managers, journalists, players, opposition fans, and most Motherwell fans rate Higdon - it's just a few folk on the internet and the mouth foamers in the East Stand who seem to have some sort of mental block when it comes to the player. I think that says it all, although it's still pretty cringe-worthy at times.

Randolph was great, as was Kerr, and there were a few other good performances - but it's Higdon for me.

Well that was good. I thought we'd win but that was more comfortable than I'd expected, at least score wise as ICT had their chances. Higdon's first was a good finish, his second was a great finish, and his third was a fucking outstanding finish!

2-1 Motherwell. We'll be 2-0 up and cruising, then Caley will score with 80 minutes gone. We'll then shite it and park everyone at the edge of our own box, but fare better than we did doing it last week.
  6. Nonsense. Faddy's search for a new club will start properly today. There would have been no point in him jumping at offers (unless lucrative) while the transfer window was still open. Now it's shut, he can hopefully attract the attention of decent clubs who missed out on their transfer/loan targets during the summer and instead have to turn to the free agents market. I'd be genuinely surprised if he's not registered for a Championship club by the end of the month, albeit as a squad player perhaps.
  7. As has been previously pointed out, relegation isn't even worth briefly thinking about this season. Dundee are paying the price for planning for First Division football right up until the last minute - they are absolutely terrible. Even if we have a shambles of a season, we'll still finish above Dundee. I'm perfectly happy with our current squad. If we get to 11pm tonight without selling anyone, I'll be even happier. New faces are a bonus. The fact folk are already wetting themselves as we sit undefeated in the SPL after four games, with sides like Dundee in the league, and a decent enough squad that isn't greatly changed from last season pretty much sums Steelmen Online up.
  8. A club like Motherwell budgeting for top six (and a good cup run, I believe) is ridiculous though.
  9. Agreed. Although, the good times - by our standards - have been going on for a fair while now. As soon as they end and we're back in relegation dogfights, I'll never be coming on this forum again.
  10. Stop talking sense ya crazy bastard.
  11. If any Motherwell fan won £2,500 thanks to us winning 3-1 and going into the Europa League Group Stages, I'd fully expect them to be dead shortly afterwards.
  12. Think you're reading far, far too much into it. He's a footballer in his mid-to-late-20s who left Hearts because of missed wages etc, has just had an unsuccessful spell down south, and has a pregnant missus. He'd be daft if he wasn't looking for the security of a three year deal.
  13. So before the internet then?
  14. It's not a case of contract negotiations being discussed in the open, but it's not just stories either. It'll be somewhere in between. Ryan Stevenson might have been perfectly happy with the deal on offer from Motherwell and could have been on his way up the road to sign for us, but if his agent fancies a few more pennies for himself, it's easy enough to alert other clubs via the media.
  15. Wouldn't be surprised. He'll want the security of a 3 year deal whereas we'll be sticking with our usual shite 2 year deal patter which has probably cost us other players in the past.
  16. I'd be surprised if that comes off. There seems to have been a great deal of bitterness towards Stevenson from both the Hearts fans and players, not to mention the fact he left due to the running of the club (which hasn't changed). I wouldn't be surprised if he picked another club over us but I'd be very surprised if he moves to Hearts.
  17. Wasn't it only mentioned yesterday?
  18. I think you might be right mate, his name rang a bell and I reckon it might be more to do with CM rather than his actual career! Mark Kerr... Peter Leven... Has anyone ever asked McCall if he's an avid CM/FM player? If I get around to buying the new blue kit, I might splash out on getting "To Madeira" on the back.
  19. Was just coming on to say the same and predict a 3-0 defeat, so I'll just agree with you instead!
  20. I missed this last night. That's both hilarious and pathetic in equal measure.
  21. Anybody who genuinely believes Frazzle's post is racist is an absolute fucking mile-oot.
  22. This from a copper who's avatar openly glorifies the harsh treatment the police hand out to black men simply because of the colour of their skin. Hang your head in shame.
