  1. Motherwell 1 - 0 Panathinaikos Panathinaikos 0 - 0 Motherwell Six new credit cards then taken out for the group stages.
  2. Getting the wanger out for a week is quite the forfeit...
  3. And what part of having a discussion on a football forum has anything to do with encouraging them on the park or not? If any footballer goes into a game believing they have no chance because they read a few fans having a discussion about the game on the internet, then they should be no where near a career in sport. It's a forum for discussion. There's no point in continuing it if fans have to pretend to think we'll win on here. MJC would go insane. For what it's worth, I think we have a chance and come Tuesday after a few pre-match pints I'll be convinced we're going to romp it. But if I few folk think we'll get horsed and say that in a discussion about the game, I fail to see the issue. You don't have to be convinced of a win to support to your team.
  4. Because they're paid to be footballers and we pay to be fans.
  5. My flight home is at 8.50am on the Thursday. If we were to get through there's no chance I'd be on it.

Similarly, I'm one of about three people in history to go to the Faroe Islands and come home with sunburn. Might get myself one of these for Athens:

It's fucking roasting here and it's only 18'C. I am actually going to die in Athens.
  8. Just in. Actually enjoyed a pre-season friendly for a change. Good 'Well crowd through and a good atmosphere. Fair play to the 12 wee guys in the Accies singing section giving it a bash, but marks deducted for every second song being about paedophiles. Decent performance, controlled the game without creating a great number of chances. Accies had a couple of cracking efforts from distance and Randolph had to stop with some outstanding saves. Special mention for the wee midget who came off the bench for Accies and, quite unbelievably, slotted in at centre half - before almost ripping Omar Daley's shirt off twice, having a few air kicks, giving away the penalty, and then halving Daley which his team mates looked to the bench to see if Billy Reid would take him off! Hilarious performance!

Nice one mate, no doubt bump into you up at the bar on the roof next to the pool!

Right, that's me involved. Flying out from Glasgow on the Sunday morning via Heathrow, gets to Athens at 5.40pm. Fly to Gatwick on the Thursday morning then ten hours before the flight back to Glasgow from Heathrow. No idea about the hotel, few lads already booked in it and there was already a spare bed so that's blagged! EDIT: In the Novotel Athenes. Looks a belter.

I'm only back from Wickerman earlier today so haven't had the chance to get things sorted, planning to get it all booked up tomorrow though. Keeping an eye on this thread for any plans worth checking out!
  12. I'd agree with that. Being able to offer Sky Edinburgh, Highland and Dundee derbies might not be a generator of huge funds but it's better than nothing.
  13. As long as nothing disastrous happens finance wise, I don't really mind.
  14. That in no way remotely answers my question. EDIT: Just noticed you added more. The whole grass roots and changing of how we bring young players through is supposed to be underway with Mark Wotte bring brought in. However, if we ever want to see any improvements in the Scottish game as a whole, we need to start by getting rid of Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster as quickly as possible.
  15. He's been the Chris Humphrey Appreciation Society for the last year, would like to see our top goalscorer from last year dropped, and thinks Celtic "would probably challenge" in League One. "Hisnae a clue" is a fair conclusion.

If we reach the group stages of either European tournament, we'll be dead certs to finish in the bottom six.

It's also important to keep in mind that we are now just one of the majority of SPL clubs who can no longer afford to replace players like Jennings. Carswell might not be up to the level of "SPL quality" of the past few years, but he might be up to the level of "SPL quality" in the next few years, given that level is all but certain to drop now. Let's not forget that the youngsters and fringe players are the future of the SPL now that Rangers have been binned (especially if they're placed in the Third Division). It's all very well discussing a replacement for Jennings but the reality now is that it's very likely to remain just a discussion.
  18. We're going regardless I think. I'm off to Wickerman Festival a week tomorrow, so I'm going to have to give my credit card to a trustworthy mate and just tell them to book me onto whatever flight they opt for after the draw next Friday!

Randolph Hateley --- Hutchinson --- Saunders --- Hammell Murphy --- Carswell --- Lasley --- Law Higdon --- Ojamaa That would suit me just now. You could always bring Humphrey in on the right and shift Murphy onto the left and Law into the middle in place of Lasley, or something along those lines. I share the feelings of a lot of 'Well fans that Carswell might not be ready to be a first choice pick but, to be honest, I'd be quite happy playing the team above now - with the financial difficulties in the future brought about by the Club Formerly Known As Rangers, guys like Carswell are going to be starting for us more and more.

Has he? Don't get me wrong, there's no doubt that he's isolated up front on his own and, when a lone striker, his flick ons never have anyone near them, but I've never heard Michael Higdon always claiming that. As for your line up with Higdon in behind, it's something that can work on occasion (John Sutton as a target man lying in behind the striker against Steaua, I think it was, under Gannon worked well) however, Higdon's main role is a goalscorer. If you plank him in the attacking midfield area, you largely take out his goalscoring ability. No go for me because of that.
  21. Just before 10am, so it's not really an issue apart from Inverness CT/Aberdeen/Ross County away. Easily combated with a pouch of Petrov vodka up the jumper though. Think it's banned post-9pm as well. Again, not an issue if you head home early enough. To be honest, most trains up north for 'Well games, for example, are "dry trains" these days and yet I've never not been able to booze on board, so I wouldn't bother too much. They seem more concerned now about stopping pished folk getting on the train in the first place rather than actively stopping boozing on the train.
