Does anyone know if this is the case, or if season ticket seats are only reserved until Friday? I'd have hoped that ST seats were reserved beyond Friday given the short-notice of the thing but I've not seen or heard anything confirmed.

I read this last night. Although I still oppose the 'newco to Division One' idea, mainly because it opens the door to full-blown corruption including the likes of match fixing or the pressurising of officials, I do feel like I have a little more understanding of it from a financial point of view. Thank God there are clubs like St Mirren to keep us updated.

Don't get me wrong, I agree the prices are pretty hefty and I'm pretty disappointed myself - but given we're only days away from being told we're fucked financially regardless of what happens with Rangers and that all fans need to club together and probably part with extra cash to get us through, it seems a bit mental that there's such a backlash - surely it's not unexpected? My concern is actually still with the fact it has the appearance that someone just decided at 9am today that we should start selling Champions League tickets.

Why does being in the top division have to be a factor? -

Although I'm pleased with the (expected) results, I'm disappointed with the statement - assuming that was it. I was under the impression that we had to wait until today as Leann Dempster was in meetings all day yesterday and would therefore need more time to draft our official statement. If that's the labors of her work then it's a bit of an anti-climax. -

Got to admit, back when the world was a far simpler place and it was just really a debate of 'yes' or 'no' to a newco in the SPL, I stated that I would more than likely walk away from SPL football (or at least at grounds of those who vote 'yes') but I did recognise in the back of my mind that it would be a very difficult thing to do and I couldn't say 100% that I wouldn't fold. However, if I'm being brutally honest about it, I've been left so scunnered by everything - the folk who run our game, Rangers, the media, even our own club at times - that it feels like that with every passing day, it'll become far easier to turn my back on it all. Today our Champions League ticket sales went on sale. And yet, I've had a text from one regular at Fir Park and a phone call from another - both half-jokingly discussing who would be worth supporting from next season onwards, with no mention of the CL (admittedly because they might not know they're on sale). It's an absolute riot. -

That's really the only reason I posted up the link. It takes two seconds to get a blog online and would have taken anyone 5-10 minutes to type up that blog. However, as you say, it's from someone who is always about when it comes to Scottish football issues. -
This is a pretty important question IMO. There's a group of us, some with season tickets and some without - ideally we'd like to get our season ticket seats with a couple of the tickets alongside which might only be possible is season ticket seats are still reserved during the public sale for a certain amount of time.

Indeed. My first reaction was "nonsense". Still is to be honest. However, if you'd told me when Rangers first went into administration that over the course of the few months we'd have full-blown corruption and blackmail unfolding before our eyes, John Brown would be standing outside Ibrox giving speeches like a jakey having a nervous breakdown, and Craig Whyte's tax advisor would turn out to be a porn star, I'd have said "nonsense" as well. -
Yeah, I don't actually doubt that. I guess with everything going on, it's just easy to start wondering a bit when things don't go as you'd expect...

Read THIS earlier today. Don't give it much credence, but it's about us so thought I'd post the link. I can't copy and paste from the blog, so you'll have to click the link. -
Couldn't the club have said that, assuming approval was given, tickets would be on sale today? I'm not having a go, I guess I'm just a little thrown by the fact I learned our tickets are already on sale (and have been since this morning) only because someone on here went into get a Rapid Bucharest ticket. Pleased to see there are concessions though, from the chat on here I thought we were looking at simply £30 or £15!
-
That's the info now eventually on the official site. Can't help but raise my eyebrows at this. Either the club knew the plan was to sell tickets on Tuesday morning and didn't bother telling us until Tuesday evening for some bizarre reason, or it was only decided to do so in the last 24 hours... I know with the Derek Weir statement drawing suspicion and everything else, that there's no need to start wondering what's going on with everything the club does, but surely I'm not alone in being slightly intrigued?
-
Why the need to sell the tickets so early? And if this was always the plan, why no attempt to tell us over the weekend, rather than leaving it looking like a hastily made decision?
-
What have SPL results got to do with anything? It's anything but a pointless question.
-
Erm... can we? If Scottish football as we know it is destined for oblivion if Rangers aren't in the SPL in the 2013/14 season, then how can we possibly rely on match results being genuine?
-
Would I not also be right in saying that in Serie A it's all more along the lines of dodgy dealings and match fixing in the shadows? This is corruption and a rigged league being set up in public view by those who run the game. Give me a few clubs paying off referees any day.

Straight Question(S) To The Board Of Mfc Re. Sfl Proposal
Jay replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Regan has apparently claimed six clubs are at risk of going to the wall without Rangers starting in the First Division next season (and presumably in the SPL at all costs the following season). So that's either absolutely bullshit or we have a top flight where 50% of the clubs are so badly run that they'd cease to exist upon relegation. If it's the latter (which I doubt), then it's their own faults and shouldn't be an excuse for blatant corruption. -
Spot on. Oh, no, I mean fuck, we're doomed.
-
Agreed it's obviously something to do with the current situation but I think jumping to conclusions or fearing the worst isn't really needed at the moment. Whether we're going to drop into oblivion in three years time or we're going to break into a great new dawn in three years time - everyone knows that the next couple of seasons are going to be a lot of hard work and effort regardless. If Derek Weir doesn't feel he has the time to dedicate to that then that's perfectly fair enough without any need to assume it's anything more.

Hopefully this season Henrik will have been cured from the bad case of Kevin McBride Syndrome he had last season.

Interesting article in today's Scotland on Sunday, the main point being: So, if true, not only does this story suggest Flow's claims that no one at Fir Park was aware of the proposals, it also surely leaves the positions of Regan, Petrie, Doncaster and Longmuir untenable.

I'll never forget an interview with Billy Stark in which he said that Xavi and Iniesta would never have made it if they were Scottish, as they would have been punted early doors because of their size.
