  1. Good point well made. I don't actually have any plans to wear my kilt to the Champions League qualifier although I did wear it to Nancy. Some folk wear kilts, some folk wear Motherwell tops and jeans, others don't wear colours at all. I couldn't actually care less and I don't see why anybody else does - I just think it's funny that folk seem so put out by it every time we're in Europe.
  2. I presume we'll also be leaving Chris Humphrey and Omar Daley at home if it's Kiev?
  3. Who are these people? I don't think I've read one post on here from someone suggesting they've now chosen not to return in the present circumstances.
  4. Spot on. It seems that if you even dare to suggest that football is a product or a form of entertainment you are dismissed as simply not being a 'true fan' or loving the club as much as the next person. It's pretty cringe-worthy stuff. I've already put £300 I pretty much didn't have into the 'Well Society and I've not even thought about season ticket renewals yet. What I do or don't do next season is entirely my own business and I don't need to justify it to anyone. However, if I do happen to decide that the thousands of pounds I put into following SPL football is no longer worth it because the level of corruption has reached unacceptable levels then so be it. I find it quite bizarre that some people genuinely seem to struggle with the notion that some would view pumping money into something that they view as overly corrupt as a step too far. Usually it's the Old Firm fans who take every possible chance to make themselves feel superior compared to other fans because of who they support. If a few 'Well fans on an internet messageboard want to pounce on a chance to briefly experience that wee, warm, fuzzy feeling of superiority for themselves by dismissing me, or those with the same opinion as me, as someone who doesn't really love Motherwell FC or isn't a 'real fan' then batter in.
  5. The curfew story is merely a cover up. The Jamaica squad were training close to a particularly choppy ocean and it was 'hits it, gits it'. With the Hump's delivery he never stood a chance.
  6. Don't worry, for all those in the same boat as me - awaiting the outcome of this whole debacle before making any full decisions on next season - the following t-shirts will be available outside Fir Park ahead of all non-SPL matches...
  7. Don't agree with everything he's said, but still a huge 'well played' to McCall for that e-mail. It would have been easy to simply ignore the concerns raised by fans and wait for it to blow over, but I've been constantly impressed with our gaffer's desire to communicate thoroughly with the fans.

    New Team Captain

Lasley as captain, Hammell as vice-captain.
  9. Although a side issue, the League of Wales claim is one that gets on my tits big time. I can sort of see the thought process behind using the League of Ireland as an example for an argument about the need for the Old Firm, but the Welsh claim is just so unfounded its unreal.
  10. Interesting perspective. I must admit, I never read it that way originally, but I can see where you're coming from.
  11. I think the greatest sign I've seen so far of how good a job this kit is - at least for the majority of people - is the number of positive comments on Pie & Bovril from non-'Well fans. Usually a new kit is just an excuse to find fault with some other team's strip, but there seems to be a genuinely positive reaction from both Motherwell fans and supporters of other clubs!
  12. When I first saw it I thought 'I really like that'. Now it's at a 'I fucking love it' level.
  13. If Faddy didn't mean it when he said he'd want to return to Fir Park at the end of his career, then we can assume he won't. If Faddy did meant it when he said he'd want to return to Fir Park then that move, when/if it occurs, will be a signal that his career is nearing an end. A move back here this summer would be an acceptance, at least on some level, by McFadden that his career at the top was over. He does not strike me as the type of person to accept that when he's still in his late 20s. I'd like to think he meant what he said and if he did then I look forward to seeing him in a 'Well shirt in 5 or 6 years. There's absolutely no chance of it in the near future though.
  14. "Motherwell will take on Lanarkshire neighbours Hamilton Accies in a pre-season friendly match at New Douglas Park on Tuesday 24th July."
  15. Quality video, good to see a few of my clips involved too! Roll on Europe!
  16. I'd agree with that - the celebrations in Daniels when Hearts equalised were tremendous!
  17. They probably pulled it off as Hearts tend to put large prices on players and seldom budge on those, forcing teams to stump up the cash. Unlike us.
  18. Where do people with Motherwell Champions League tattoos called Jamie stand?
  19. Is Faddy still likely to be an Everton player by this?
  20. You only keep young players that are good enough though. If it's been decided that they aren't good enough and never will be, then that's good enough for me. EDIT: This was in reply to a post by Well-Made which I cannae see now?! On my iPhone though so its probably elsewhere!
  21. Hopefully he gets a run out on Sunday, either from the start or (probably more likely) from the bench.
  22. I didn't know that. Belter of a preferred bidder.
  23. Aye, from the chat on SSN it sounds like he's taken one look at the books and jumped on the first flight back to the States. At this rate the SPL chairmen will need to get a whip round and form a consortium to save them.
  24. Legit quote, although it was taken from a larger statement. The whole thing was read out on Sky Sports News and I'm sure hinted at 'more information' coming to light etc. But he did mention the fans too.
