I wasn't referring to you directly mate, just what I've read on this thread and a couple of others. To be fair to the big man, he is the perfect example of an East Stand boo boys target. Does a lot of the dirty work but as it's not obvious, it goes unnoticed by a lot of 'Well fans. Guys like Derek Adams and Marc Fitzpatrick were along the same lines - did their jobs well and were picked regularly on that basis, yet received abuse from those who, presumably, just fail to notice what it is they're actually supposed to be doing. It's just the price that "less glamorous" footballers pay for plying their trade in front of folk who think they know better. I'd be surprised if he isn't the boo boys' latest fling soon enough, especially if he doesn't score soon. But to be fair, Saints fans said that would happen. Ross Forbes will be delighted.

Oh, and as for the game - we're going to win 2-0.

So far this season we've had St Mirren fans on Pie & Bovril last week claiming the SFA were anti-Buddies due to their rejection of the Saints appeal against Hasselbaink's red card, not to mention Iain Brines being appointed as he is apparently anti-St Mirren. This was followed up with apparent anti-Buddies motives from the BBC as they pieced together a blatantly pro-Motherwell highlights package after the match. Now we have 'Well fans genuinely believing there's some sort of mass media conspiracy to deliberately attempt to swing games in the favour of the Old Firm for reasons unknown by continuing speculation of certain players. And that's now followed up with the bizarre claim that Rangers - who are skint - are suddenly going to sign our best players for no other reason than to weaken our side and leave said players picking up a wage on the bench. The Neil Lennon Paranoia Award looks like having a good few challengers this year.

Good point, although when I say "I assume" I actually mean "it will be same system as it always is, I just don't want to commit to saying that on the extremely small chance they change it for no apparent reason".
-
It'll be the usual setup I assume - buy a ticket from the wee window about 20 yards up from the turnstyle.

It's a discussion about whether or not there's any truth behind these rumours. Who's falling out about anything? Or have I completely missed something... If the rain keeps up it very well might end up being off, but there's absolutely no doubt amongst the Saints fans that this game will be on and I reckon that's as good a sign as any.
-
It isn't in doubt, that's the point. The only mentions I've seen of the game possibly being postponed (which, I'm assuming, would be for the rain) have been the two or three posts on this thread and that's it. As it stands, there's absolutely no reason to believe the game isn't going to be on.
-
Where? Even Pie & Bovril, which is full of St Mirren fans, hasn't the slightest mention of the game being in any doubt. In fact, the only mention there's been of it has been a couple of them saying there's no chance it'll be off.
-
According to Saints fans on Pie & Bovril there are student prices, they just don't tell you that on the Buddies website for some reason (maybe hoping you'll just pay full whack without bothering to ask).
-
That's what they do now.
-
My thoughts exactly. It's not a blatant red card but it's pretty obvious why he was sent off, and I fail to understand the uproar about it from the Saints fans. I don't for a second believe the appeal will be successful.

Reminds me of a game at Fir Park a season or two ago where a great period of possession football was met with a serious cry of "stop just passing it about, Motherwell." Motherwell, like every other club in the world, has some football fans who actually know fuck all about football.

Didn't even think about that mate, but I like the look of that - I'd be happy if that was the shout. We might have a very threadbare squad, but at least we are still able to entertain two or three options after a suspension. As for Saturday itself, looking forward to another train day. Decent enough wee jaunt - either having a few jars in town and the train straight to the ground, or getting off at Gilmour Street and visiting the Paisley boozers. Went in the car last time though and parked next to a couch, such is the wonderful area the new ground is located. But aye, hopefully a good game and I'm going with a 2-0 away victory to the pace setters.
-
Aye mate - me, Busta, Joe & Davie made the short move along a section and joined Marty, Craig & Sparra a few rows behind yourself yesterday. Can't imagine there'll be any great rush to move back to our old seats.
-
It was on the official site, I don't know if it was advertised elsewhere. It was an official thing by the club though, nothing to do with this forum,
-
Fair enough, I guessed it was either that or you'd meant to say "hadn't". But aye, he was capped as a Hearts player, found to be gash at international level, and dropped. His move to Rangers is irrelevant, as it is for most players. The idea that players move to the Old Firm and get called up is a complete and utter myth. The only evidence for it is because when a good Scottish player bursts onto the scene in the SPL and forces his way into the thoughts of the international manager, the Old Firm are usually sniffing about trying to sign him anyway. Mark Wilson should have been in the squad on a regular basis and never got a look in, yet has played for Celtic for years.
-
I read it as if Lee Wallace had moved to one of the OF, he'd be in the squad. Of course, even if you're right, he hasn't been called-up. Maybe it's just been a long day!
-
What? (Waits to be shown up as an idiot who's clearly missed something).

From what I gather, someone has decided to complain that singing a harmless (and, let's be honest, fairly mediocre) song in support of a black player is racist. Unfortunately I think we might have a white supremacist in our support who cannot stand by and watch non-white players receive backing without comment. EDIT: In fact, I think I see why you're confused. The first post originally mentioned that someone had complained about the song. I just realise it's been edited.
-
I must admit, I've been a bit cautious over whether this is actually real or not! I heard the song on a few occasions on both the train and down the front of the away end at Rugby Park, but I'm stopping just short of believing someone actually reported it as racist.
-
Do you know who? That's fucking embarrassing.
-
He doesn't refuse to pick Motherwell players though.
-
How's that even possible?
