  1. I'd completely forgotten about that, I reckon you're right!
  2. The Motherwell Masters Glory Days!
  3. Glory days! Was that not the Masters that Scoony was letting off fireworks in the Braehead car park? Outstanding.
  4. I'm not surprised there's apathy regarding this. I loved the old days out to the Masters, it was always an absolute belter of a day, but after they ditched Motherwell - despite the fans being solely responsible for any atmosphere at Braehead - they can go fuck themselves. It's a shame, but I think the glory days of the big 'Well section behind the goal are gone thanks to the organisers.
  5. I completely disagree. We already have the tools in the middle of the park to break up the play, win the ball, and win the midfield battle, but we are seriously lacking someone in there to take the good work of Lasley and Jennings and progress it into a meaningful attack. Hughes has the ability and creativity to be the link between a battling midfield, and good attacking players like Murphy, Humphrey and Higdon. I think he's exactly what we need.
  6. If it's Gavin Gunning, as suggested, then I'd hazard a guess that a lot of folk on here would care.
  7. His imagination probably. Gunning doesn't even get mentioned as a slight pie-in-the-sky rumour amongst the Kilmarnock fans on Pie & Bovril, never mind looking to be "on his way to Killie" (and neither does Blackman).
  8. Normally I wouldn't pay attention to anythin the News of the World claim, but I reckon there could be something behind this. I hope so, I reckon the creative ability of Hughes alongside the tenacity of Jennings and Lasley in a midfield three would be fantastic.
  9. This is Steelmen Online, nothing posted on this thread will actually happen.
  10. I'd agree with that. Don't think I'd take Paterson back, but definitely Hughes and O'Brien - if anyone thinks a team like Motherwell are going to get a higher standard of player than those two on free transfers, they're mental and/or stupid. And as for Michael Higdon - an outstanding signing for us if it were to come off.
  11. Paterson's back up the road in Blantyre, jogging about the streets in his Plymouth gear. Still slow as shite!
  12. Hope there's truth in the Higdon rumour, it would be a great signing.
  13. I'd completely forgotten about the fact we were talking to some guy about Mo Ross in a pub in Dublin on Saturday. The guy was part of a group of mates over for the game, of which Maurice Ross was one. He told us Ross wasn't staying at Motherwell and was off to Turkey for a trial shortly. Time will tell whether or not he was talking shite!
  14. Aye, I'd take Gunning in a second.
  15. Sutton just on STV. In his press conference he says he moved because he asked Motherwell for a new contract in the summer and again in January and wasn't offered anything until a week before the cup final, and even then there was nothing specific.
  16. Good luck to him, a move to Hearts seemed inevitable this summer so I'm not surprised. He did a good job but he's replaceable so I'm not too bothered. Surprised anyone can think his comments have absolutely anything to do with Motherwell fans though.
  17. Still absolutely buzzing, heading to Daniels for 5, this '91 party about 7ish, then up the road afterwards for an attempt at a few hours sleep before heading to Joe's at 7.30am tomorrow. So I'm basically just trying to look at the next 45 minutes of being the last of the "waiting" and then we're into the real thing, albeit with still a while til 3pm tomorrow!
  18. Outstanding mate, cannae beat a bit of the Human Traffic! Moff's "Peter Andre rant" in the back of the taxi could apply to one or two Celtic players or staff I'm sure...
  19. Cringe indeed. Let them batter in. If any 'Well fans join in fair enough. But at the moment, my only plan for Hampden tomorrow is get right behind the 'Well players on the park.
  20. Agreed. Commons should be kicked in the air in the first five minutes.
  21. James Forrest is a half decent player, nothing more. He has potential but he's not any likelier to do damage than the likes of Jamie Murphy and Chris Humphrey. His Scotland squad call-up shouldn't mask that fact. Famous last words of course.
