I would be absolutely delighted if George Burley was our next gaffer. There are plenty of managers out there who are purely international gaffers and can't cut it at club level such as Bora Milutinovic. I reckon Burley's the opposite - a very good club manager who just doesn't have the correct attributes to succeed in international football. His failure as Scotland boss doesn't change the fact that he's a very good club manager, and a very nice guy as well - which would be the complete opposite of Gannon!

Not at all. Nijholt has done absolutely nothing to merit this bizarre campaign to get him in as gaffer. I for one would be very disappointed if he was appointed. I can't see it happening though, thankfully.

Does Gannon play young players because it's his policy to give youth a chance, or does he just see older players as a threat? The more I hear, the more I think it's the latter.

The more I think about it, the more I think bringing in Craig Brown and Archie Knox is a stroke of genius. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to go down the route of 99% of managerless teams by appointing Gordon Young or even Craigan as caretaker manager until we get a new gaffer. But bringing in two high respected and experience guys like Brown and Knox could help stop the rot and get us into a decent shape again just in time for the new manager to take over.

Not sure about that at all. A few of the stories I've been hearing for months from people who deal with Craigan on a regular basis through here in the Tyre suggest that one of the reasons for the falling out between gaffer and manager was Craigan's decision to stand up to Gannon when he was absolutely slating some/most of the team (which, given the average age of our squad, would almost certainly include a lot of the younger players). I wouldn't actually be that surprised if the younger players have more respect for the "old guard" than they did for Gannon, especially given the reports of singing in the team bus and parties in the changing rooms.

Gannon is a Grade A fuck-knuckle. The only folk who don't seem delighted by his sacking are the fans, and they're the ones with the least amount of knowledge of what was going on. Says it all for me. Perfectly happy with the decision, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the players react on Wednesday no longer having to deal with Gannon as their gaffer.

Based on what? If Gannon has in fact lost the dressing room, why would his departure make those five want to leave?

I know he gets mentioned every time, but seriously... why should Luc Nijholt get the job? What has he done to prove he'd be a remotely decent manager? No thanks. Someone proven, with a knowledge of Scottish football and with experience for me - Burley or Calderwood please.
