I thought it sounded more like a paedophile ring from Parkhead.
  2. I actually agree. £21 isn't a bad reflection on Falkirk, it's a bad reflection on football in general. But it still prices me out of a wee trip I was actually looking forward to.

    In's And Out's

I'd really love to see us signing any of these players, but I just can't see it happening. I'm not up to date on McCormack's progress down south but I wouldn't have imagined he'd have any need to return to Fir Park, Paul Gallagher is destined for big things down south so would probably see a move up to Scotland as a step backwards, and Arfield could probably wangle a move down to a Championship club. I could maybe see Paul Gallacher coming to us from Dunfermline, but even then - wouldn't we have to pay for him, and would McGhee really want to part with cash for a 2nd keeper when we already have Michael Fraser joining? Stephen Dobbie though, I'd actually love to see us going for him. Fits the bill for the "lower league gambles" I was talking about earlier. Our squad is tiny as it is and with more players set to leave he's exactly the type of player we should be looking for IMO.
  4. Bit of a shambles that. Was originally planning on heading through to Falkirk. It's usually a decent wee day, few jars in town, train through, few jars in Behind The Wall, free bus to/from the game, then back to Behind The Wall before the train home! But with so much on in the coming few months, £21 looks set to price me out of this game. What a joke football prices are.

    In's And Out's

I'm convinced Hughes, Smith and Malcolm will be off in the summer, still hopeful we can hold onto Klimpl. We'll also lose Sheridan and the other loanees at the end of the season, though none of them are a loss. We simply don't have the numbers to purposely get rid of anyone else though. I'd like to see us taking a few gambles on some First Division players. There's some decent quality there that could do a job at Fir Park and pad the squad out a bit. Even the Second and Third Divisions boast a handful of players that could have the potential to play in the SPL if given the chance - just look at Gomes at Dundee Utd. McGhee's always pretty strict when it comes to new players and doesn't seem to entertain the idea of signing someone unless they meet his specifications exactly - but I don't see how he can possibly continue that policy this summer, we'll be left with a tiny squad of players if he does. I'd also like to see us scrapping this idea of bringing players in on loan, unless they are actually going to contribute something to the team and aren't just on a few months holiday in Motherwell. I'd like to see us add another goalkeeper to battle with Fraser for the number one jersey, unless Coutts is genuinely ready for the step up (I don't even know what age he is). I'd also like to see us bringing in a left back, a right back, a left sided midfielder and a striker. If, and only if, we manage to sort all that out - I'd then look to bring in another centre half and a creative midfielder, but in reality we're not going to bring in that amount of players during the summer. Looking forward to seeing what McGhee can conjure up over the next few months.
  6. I've been critical about things McGhee has said in the past, but fair play for this. Exactly what we, and perhaps out of contract players and potential signings, were needing to hear. Quite looking forward to next season and seeing how the squad changes over the summer. We're in a position where we can't afford not to bring anyone in, so it'll be interesting to see who McGhee can come up with. Are Maman and Soley still kicking about!?
  7. Dunno if I was just raging at the manner in which we chucked away a top six place, or whether it's just taken til Thursday for my head to sort itself out after the weekend - but my earlier statement about not going to any of the remaining games is nonsense! I'll be at both home games, and I'm hoping to get to all three away ties. If anything both Falkirk and St. Mirren are decent days out, and Accies is just down the road! So aye, hopefully all five games for me. MOTHERWELL F.C.: 2008/09 BOTTOM SIX CHAMPIONS Mon ra 'Well.

    Get A Grip

Busta's just paranoid that the rest of our wee section won't go to the home games and he'll have to sit himself.

    Stephen Hughes

I actually said to a few folk at the game on Saturday that I'd expect Hughes to go to Hearts in the summer. No sources or anything, just reckon that he's not done enough in a 'Well shirt to justify a move back down south, so the 3rd placed side in Scotland is probably the best bet.
  10. Must admit, when I read that on the official site in the work earlier it did annoy me slightly. It's nonsense, dunno why McGhee felt the need to make such a claim. It wouldn't be so much of an issue if it was a matter of opinion, but why would he even have the knowledge of Motherwell sides from the past 40 years in order to form his opinion? As I've said before, McGhee does have ability as a football manager, but some of the stuff he comes out with at times is ridiculous. Every time he opens his mouth I seem to dislike the guy even more. At least he's not touting himself for jobs these days, although I'd assume that's more to do with our league position not being able to back up his claims he's a top manager.
  11. The only real benefit I can think of is that it allows the SPL to have 12 teams, without each team having to play 44 games a season. I'd assume that's why it was brought in in the first place.

    Resign Mcghee?

At times it genuinely looks like McGhee deliberately makes noticeable changes for big games in the hope that it pays off, so he can claim to have made a tactical masterstroke! Another big game, another bizarre line-up, another lack of changes, another defeat.

    St Mirren Game

Busta for having Will Haining in stitches with his "Michelle Marsh has massive titties!" shout.
  14. Not to mention Morgaro Gomis who is a cracking wee midfielder that United signed from those giants of world football, Cowdenbeath.
  15. Nah, I'll likely give the last five games a miss. Today was supposed to mean something and it was absolutely awful, I can't even begin to think how dreadful the last five games will be given we've got nothing to play for. Football is just entertainment - I see nothing entertaining now after the split. I'll find something more worthwile to do with my Saturdays, like getting smashed in the pub. I've got a season ticket (well, maybe I don't considering MFC haven't bothered to send me this letter) so I'll probably give it a loan to someone who's daft enough to want to go.

    Mirren Game

Absolutely dreadful. Terrible team selection, poor performances all round, and waiting until the 81st minute and a goal down to make a substitution is a disgrace. Highlight was easily Will Haining sauntering over to the East Stand to be met with Busta's shout of "Michelle Marsh has massive titties!" Haining was pishing himself. The rest of the game was shite. Bottom 6 is exactly what we deserve.
  17. I've heard that from a few Cardiff fans. McNaughton's a player I've always rated and I'd have him in the Scotland squad every game. Not quite a first team pick, but definitely a good player to have in the squad. As for McCormack, he's really developing into a top class player so fair play to him. From a Scotland point of view I'm delighted as it's another quality player who can actually change a game with a bit of magic, something we're short of.
  18. Exactly! I'll be giving this a miss as I just can't afford £23.50 to get lifted!
  19. Aberdeen were there for the taking, especially after they went down to 10 men, so it's definitely two points dropped. Unfortunately I reckon we might have blown our top six chances yesterday, though I'd obviously love to be wrong.
  20. There's going to be a sneak preview of the black armband in the St. Mirren programme.

Clarkson should have buried that. Ach well, 90 minutes of utter dross. Sums up perfectly just how gash the SPL is. 0-0 a fair result.
