  1. Willie McFadyen scored 28 hat tricks (or better) in competitive matches. You can add another 14 in friendlies to that total as well. And in the season where Falconer scored 5 we managed 28 league goals. Dougie Arnott was actually the club's top scorer because he added four cup goals to his league tally of three.
  2. A record yes but one we share and we weren't the first to have a 6-6 draw. Leicester v Arsenal in 1930 is possibly the first. But we were certainly the first to be involved in a 6-6 draw in Scottish football.
  3. Sengewald, Pearson and Partridge. Players with one red card will be covered by the phrase " a few others with one red card to their name in that period."

To add to that, Rennie also had to contend with an Airdrie forward doing a Kirk and blocking two attempts to clear the ball hence the extra steps. A free kick for obstruction would have been a fairer decision.

    Record Breakers?

Ah yes, I'd missed a Falkirk game trying to read Well Again without my glasses! Why don't they just list games in the order they were played in Well Again!

    Record Breakers?

And as for big Mitch... 95/96 at Thistle 96/97 at Dundee Utd two at Raith at Dunfermline at Raith at Dundee Utd in the Cup then his only one at Fir Park, 'that' goal.

    Record Breakers?

I make that run as eight league clean sheets out of nine. Two before a Cup loss to Aberdeen and the Ibrox game before six more clean sheets. The run started with a 0-0 against Hibs that was the eighth game in a row where we failed to score a goal.

93/94. The Dundee Utd game ( a home defeat) was down to a Sieb error. Then we drew at Raith and lost at home to St Johnstone. Five points dropped and we finished third, four points behind Rangers. However, it was eighteen league clean sheets, and one in the league cup, by Sieb that got us that close. For me it's a very close call between the two but Sieb was at his peak then while Ruddy will get even better.
  9. Usual whitewash. It's a big story now for us and the SPL but will be forgotten after Saturday by everyone but us. The authorities will just quietly let it die a death. The media will also forget bar a quick mention next time we meet Rangers, of course they won't forget to mention Kris Boyd's disallowed, ahem, goal at every opportunity. Welcome to the bitter taste of Scottish football.

  11. Played against Falkirk (5-3 game) and Killie at Fir Park in his first season. Also in cups against Clydebank and Havnar Boltfelag (2nd leg). No mention of Aberdeen. Well Again mentions a sub appearance at Tannadice early in first season but I can't find that anywhere else.
  12. Confirmed. he also played four games the previous season.
  13. petrel blue, sampdoria style please.
  14. Need to add Moutaouakil to the outs and it's at right back that we're doing a McGhee and playing square pegs in round holes.
  15. Killie October. Then Aberdeen November.
  16. Paul Quinn at Aberdeen was last.
  17. 5,543 according to Rothmans
  18. Hearts certainly rule heads on here. Week after week the optimists predict Well victories. Just to remind you, for months we have all complained about how badly we are playing. We have no wins in our last eight games. Potentially we are missing Saunders and Hutchinson from central defence. Hateley is a doubt which leaves us struggling at right back. Just the sort of adversity whch has seen us spring a few surprises in the past but I'd take a draw right now if someone offered it to me. Oh, and if Slane makes an appearance today let's hope the boo boys hold fire and don't make his decision any easier.
  19. In the 50-70 minute period we have conceded 13 of our 28 league goals. In all games we have conceded 20 of our 42 goals in this period. 50-55 minutes is our most vulnerable time.
  20. The Premier started in 75/76, NOT the late 70's. From then Willie P scored 56 league and 16 cup goals for Well. Puts him a lot further up the table than earlier comments and certainly above Clarky who does top the Noughties. I reckon only Kirkie beats him and he played a lot more games. Add on Willie P's goals in the seasons before the Premier and he's comfortably ahead.
  21. Four, six, whatever. We're a soft touch compared to every other SPL team.
  22. From the BBC stats shots at goal:1 fouls conceded: 4 Both of these figures concern me greatly. If you don't shoot you don't score and frankly we seem happy with ball retention and a slow build up rather than just chancing our arm. We regularly run up just a handful of fouls in a game. we really need to be putting a foot in here and there. If it costs a free kick then fine. It will disrupt the flow of the opposition. I'm not saying we should be a dirty team but we need more grit and not to be allowing the opposition to play.
  23. My lad Remi was mascot that very day.
  24. Allegedly is the missing word in this sentence. Alleged by three Saints fans to have made a racist comment, and conveniently on a weekend when Tayside police were on an anti-racism crackdown. No surprise when it was found there was no case to answer. Momo Sylla made no friends amongst Well fans by just shutting up when he could quite easily have said it was a load of bollocks.
