He is better than Lasley, but its more the attitude he would bring. We would all want players like Asprillia or Robinho on the pitch, but at the end of the day are they worth the trouble?
-
Not sure about this one. I am more than happy to bring in experience, but I would hate for us to go down the road of the 'old journeyman pro' road. Much prefer us to be siging players like Hateley and Jennings where we might make some profit.

Stewart is a grade A wank stain that is about as welcome in our dressing room as the winter vomiting bug.

Decent player that has never really impressed me. Always looked a bit clumsy on the ball. He did get into good areas though and scored a few vital goals for us, but at the moment I just can't see how he would fit into our team. Humphrey is a better player. He has much more of an impact that Smith, he just needs to convert some of his opportunities. Hopefully with a pre season under him he will be a better player next year.

Holy shit flow. What they been feeding you at Fir Park?

Mine would be the 8-1 humping of Flamaturi. I know they were a pub team, but what I loved was that it was all the young lads who made that victory all the sweeter. We hadn't really seen Hutchy, Forbes, Slane or McHugh on the big stage yet and I felt this game showed we have some real talent on the books. Also it was a cracking day and most of the goals were magic! Close second would be the 1-1 draw with Rangers. Felt thats probably the best we have played all season. Just didn't have luck or an unbaised ref on our side that day.

Tom has been less effective due to him playing right back. Stick him in the midfield and he is essential to our team. Can't believe he never got nominated in any young player awards this season.
-
Re Hateley - I agree with Al B, the boy has bags of potential and his game has suffered on our bog. He signed a one year deal and if we can't get him on an extension then I think a fair few clubs will be snapping him up. Re O'Brien - this argument is as old as the hills. I don't give a fuck where someone chooses to play for. I have never slated McGeady or McCarthur for their decsion as its up to them and the same goes for McLean and O'Brien.

Let make the assumption that Reynolds, O'Brien, Ruddy and Duke are all gone, what would be your starting eleven from the current squad based on a 4-4-2? GK - Fraser DL - Hammell DC - Craigan DC - Hutchison DR - Saunders ML - Forbes MC - Lasley MC - Jennings MR - Hateley FC - Murphy FC- Sutton Based on current squad I would say its in defence we look strongest for next season, but need to get some creativity in the midfield, a new goalkeeper and some fresh attackers to compliment Murphy, Sutton and McHugh.

Unless its 100% fixed next season then I doubt I will renew my season ticket. This last half of the season, even though we have done well has been dreadful to watch. Its not the players fault or the management. Its just comes down to the worst pitch in the UK. Some may say that it was worse back in the day, fair enough, but you didn't pay a small fortune to get in back then.

Christ all that puts us to shame. We should start using the facilities up at Ravenscraig and also build a new stadium up there too. Not often you get the chance to build on a blank canvas. If we had something like the picture above I would be fair chuffed.

Overall he is a terrible goalkeeper who gives his back four no confidence at all. He injured three of our players with his daft 15 yard runs to catch a ball going nowhere. First goal was just one of those things. Happens to the best. However the second goal was not his fault. Reynolds was totally at fault for that. Also why did he not let it out for a throw? Stupid decision making. Third one was a shocker. He should not be letting a grass fizzer go under his body. It was more his overall performace which was nervy and this makes the defence that bit more aprehensive. What gets me though and Steve Diggles points it out too is why we basically abused him like he was an opposition player and thus make him play even worse. Why not get behind him and try ans get his confidence up. He is basically the only goalkeeper we have at the moment so if anyone is to blame for this its Motherwell FC as a whole for not getting enough backup in place. I actually felt quite sorry for the guy by the end of the game as he is now public enemy number one at Fir Park.

With that fucking shite pitch I would pay a fiver.

We haven't won at Ibrox in god knows how long! I do agree though that Rangers will drop a fair few points in this run in, but they will have enough in the tank to get the 6 points they need. Anyway your idea is on the basis Celtic win all their games and thats pretty unlikley. Would be amazing if it did happen though!

His socks are filthy.

Rangers and Celtic need to look at the bigger picture and realise that a better and more competitive league can be achieved with more teams. Rangers and Celtic also need to understand that their power on the league is diminshing due to their poor efforts in europe which has reduced their revenue. They are no longer as big a fish in a small pond. They are always going to be bigger and better than the rest due to their fan base, but its time for them to see that the decline of Scottish football direrctly effects their pockets and by improving it will not only benefit them, but also all the other teams in the league.
-
This just proves how much of a farce the top 6 split is. Time for the SPL to just extend to a 16 or 18 team league and that would be that. Every fan wants it, most players would want it and it would make our league far more entertaining. Now we have a run in of fixtures that basically make it very tricky for us to compete on a level playing field. The whole system is a mess. Mind you have a think about St Mirren who have to play their relegation candidates Falkirk 3 times away from home!

Summer football is totally out of sync with the rest of Europe. What happens when a World Cup or Euro Championships comes along? You could say Russia copes with it fine, but they have to do it as its about -40 in the winter, but they still have to play Euro ties in the winter like everyone else. So they have laid a 4G pitch. The advantages of 4G pitches is huge. I can really see it helping the development of youth football in Scotland. I watched some kids playing an organised game the other week on a muddy, uneven field and all they could do was punt it up in the air. This is happening all over Scotland. Places like Hamilton Palace and Toryglen are the way forward. If we can get 3G and 4G pitches across the country the standard of foorball would rise dramatically I think.
-
Not really. It rains all the time in typical Scottish summer. Pitches would still be a mess. The only answer is these new 4G pitches. It its good enough for a CSKA Moscow v Inter Milan Champions League Semi Final then its good enough for a Motherwell v Falkirk tie on a cold February afternoon. Replace all Scottish grounds with 4G pitches and utilise them for training, youth games etc. Our game would be far better for it.

Aye but look how well Messi is playing now. All down to the Knox.

Cos they are thick as pig shit.

Show me your war face psycho

Bad result no doubt, but sounds like we just didn't get the breaks and with Dundee Utd having Webster and Kenneth at the back it was always going to be difficult to pull back a 2 goal deficit. Beat Falkirk on Saturday and we are right back in the hunt.
-
If we can keep it tight at the back and play with the same intensity as we did at Hearts then we might catch them off guard. Dundee Utd are a very good side, but are pretty slack at the back. Get Sutton playing behind Duke and Murphy and just run at them. I think this will be a draw though 1-1
-
We were certain of the top six about a month ago. We have to build on this form and try to achieve 3rd place. A victory over Dundee Utd and a win against Falkirk before the split I think would give us the confidence to go into the split knowing a few wins would guarantee this. Anything against Celtic would be an added bonus. The confidence is there. Its now all about staying injury free. Something we have been very lucky with this season.
